Spirit of an Age (Exalted)

The stunt is for convincing the guy our printing business is a good idea... Not that we should suddenly swap to going merchant.
We aren't going merchant this is just to build up starting capital. There is no reason to have money problems when we don't have to.

Just one day to build up capital is great idea.

This is correct. The current stunt will be discarded as non-applicable. You are getting a loan to get the money to get the materials to make the printing press, and will be repaying the loan with a printing business, which you will then parley the profits of into a separate newspaper business.

This so stupid when we could make the money in a day. When I voted for the printing press I assumed that our character would use it's advantages to make the seed money first. It is so simple that I assumed it didn't need mentioning.

Considering those last two options were basically "Seed Money, The Vote"? Not really.
The vote is in the form of long term plans. It says

"Now you have to figure out what your intentions are for yourself. Obviously you're going to become a contributing member of this society, but how?"

That sounds like picking our long term plans for what we are doing. I figured that making seed money was included in all of them. The last two votes were just to keep it up a long time.

Honestly this feels like our character who should be a business expert shooting itself in the foot.

Not very familiar with exalted stunts but I figure it is a good place for our sales pitch. If anyone has suggestions for how to improve it I'll certainly consider them. I haven't included the willpower because I'm not sure how easy those are to regain. Motes are easy though AFAIK so we should be able to able to use the max there.

Gaining Willpower
Your character gains Willpower when the following
conditions are met:

• A good night's sleep restores one Willpower point, but
cannot raise a character's Willpower points above his
permanent Willpower rating. Certain characters might
not require sleep—in their case, six to eight hours of rest
or meditation will suffice, although this bonus can only be gained once per day.

• Your character gains one Willpower point if he under
goes significant hardship or sacrifice to uphold a Major
or Defining Intimacy. He may only gain one Willpower
point per scene this way. Willpower gained in this fashion
may exceed his permanent Willpower rating.

• Achieving a major character or story goal is grounds for
gaining Willpower. The Storyteller may award one to
three points of Willpower, depending on the scale andsignificance of the goal, and these may exceed the character's permanent Willpower rating.
• Performing a two-point stunt grants one point of Will
power, while performing a three-point stunt grants two.
These awards may exceed the character's permanent
Willpower rating.

Additionally, there are several conditions which will
refresh a character's Willpower points. At the beginning
of a new story, if your character's Willpower points are
lower than his permanent rating, they're refilled to equal
it. The catharsis of Limit Break also resets the character's
Willpower to its permanent rating—even if this means
losing excess Willpower

You might be on to something there, actually...

In the short run, this is going to be vastly more profitable than the newspaper/printing business, especially if we transport high-value cargo. Sure, we have reasons beyond profit to still engage in said business... but earning some money by other means first so we can start publishing on a large scale immediately seems like a good idea.

Very true we are much better off if we can start off big and catch everyone by surprise.

We stated in nexus.
Still, Terek isn't far by your standards. It's only about an hour commute.
So only two hours.

edit:
Not very familiar with exalted stunts but I figure it is a good place for our sales pitch.
For an action to qualify as a stunt, it must fulfill two criteria, as approved by the Storyteller:

• The action must be cooler than a basic declaration of intent (see below for examples).

• The action cannot be boring.
This is not meant to act as a harsh quality bar players must strive to jump over mostly it means repetitive stunts stop qualifying as stunts, as they're no longer entertaining. This also means any stunt so long and overwrought that it bores rather than excites isn't a stunt.

@Aranfan can we get confirmation on what is a stunt and what is not before the vote is closed? If so then could we also get their point value?

I guess if we can regain it with a night of sleep we won't likely need it for anything else before getting it back. Adding it in.

I'm not sure us playing up our nature as a god is IC nor that is necessarily very helpful.

The willpower is wasted here but oh well.

I figured we'd get it back by tomorrow and we aren't exactly planning to do loads of other stuff more important right now. So the reason not to is fairly limited. And if we don't get this loan well need to delay our plans a bit until we get money some other way (even the merchant plan needs seed money we don't have).

Edit: also, we're probably going to need to acquire the charms to place blessings on people at some point. Or is that innate for spirits?
