The Argent-Eyed Heiress (Naruto/Exalted)

I wanna know what the knife does, and I swear I will find a use for Giant Clam Form. Eventually.

[x] somewhat peckish
Hanabi is at the breakfast table. Training session with Hanabi.

The giant clam will not go out with a fight.

It will stick it's tounge out at us!

A somewhat plausible thing to find alive on a dinner table of a traditional household? Also, yeah, armor. And possibly ability to breathe water.

EDIT: Oh, and hopefully ability to make chakra-infused pearls.

I would suggest a giant octopus.

Breathing water, tentacles, jet propulsion, compressible body, natural camouflage, and spraying enemies with ink.

All very useful, but remember Hiashi, for all his many many many many many many communications issues, does love and care about Hinata... in most iterations.

The clam provides armor, a useful defensive ability, especially if it can gain a similar boost in performance as ordinary human flesh when infused with chakra.

Hiashi is probably thinking that Hinata has two forms that give mass, she needs actual armor plating, and maybe later iterations will be things with various exotic defenses, like an electric eel.

Meh, I think the octopus benefits outweigh the clam being less conspicuous.

But I voted to examine the kunai anyway.

We should use this time to do so before meeting with Jiraiya again today, so he can see and give feedback on it. Plus I'm wary that the longer we go without doing so the more likely it may slip through the cracks.

This isn't Hiashi trying to optimize Hinata, though; it's Hiashi trying to figure out what the fuck is going on with his daughter without announcing it to the world.
Like, at this point the connection between additional forms and things Hinata has killed is a strong suspicion, not known fact.

Hiashi confirmed to be emotionally awkward probably lightly traumatized kuudere that tries.

If we are trying to come up with ideas for how to use partial transformation into animals in combat may I suggest taking inspiration from Suneater from My Hero Academia who can partially transform into animals he has recently eaten (for example talons from fried chicken, shell gauntlets from clams, and yes tentacles from takoyaki) once we have a large enough library we could create Thousand-fold Chimera Style taijutsu, and before anyone talks about having to abandon the jyuken we can always steal a page from Kaguya's playbook and figure out how to shoot pinions from our wings for long range tenketsu sealing or channel jyuken strikes through talons for strikes that are simultaneously hard and soft. As for Naruto with proper training in Bukijutsu could create some form of Arms as Armament Taijutsu(?) style where he transforms himself and/or his clones into various ninja tools to create a style truly fitting for the Number 1# Most Unpredictable Ninja.

Sorry for the delay, the most recent Boku No Hero Academia chapter wrecked me to the point that I decided to write up a "character becomes an Infernal " scene (the guy literally said 'this is kind of bumming me out' and I went 'oh my poor baby no HERE ARE ALL THE SHINIES'). I picked his Yozi patron as the one most fitting for him (She Who Lives in Her Name) and somehow she had the perfect charm for him in Revlid's homebrew: I'm honestly delighted by this coincidence.

The next update should have happened today (as in, in the next few hours), but something came up, I'll have to beg your indulgence for a bit longer, it should happen within the next 12ish hours, optimistically.

This a quest or story you are working on?
