Remember what canon Tensa Zangetsu said in the Dangai. All they(Well, mostly the Quincy side speaking) ever wanted to protect was Ichigo himself. Even Hollow/True Zangetsu. This is the same, hence why Zangetsu wants us to do this and is giving us a 30 second lead/head start.

That said, right now I'm voting for this and will wait to see the preview before changing my mind.

I am going to say, I think it might be possible that the Hollow Powers are gonna slot in fairly well. Even if Zangetsu was purified and all. Ichigo's soul was born and raised as some manner of 'I'M COMPATIBLE WITH EVERYTHING' impossibility made reality. Even if Konso removed his Hollow and Quincy Components, Zangetsu basically remained as is- and that is something I think has implications for Ichigo's general soul structure. If that's even a thing.

Basically I'm trying to rationalize away my extreme nervousness and anticipation.

I mean, he's basically handing us his will before he dies. Seems most respectful to his memory to follow his advice.
 
The problem is that Cirucci's favorite food is people.

It's going to take more than one sandwich to convince her that shinigami are friends, not food.
