Bleach: Derailed

Cirucci's a major character in another Bleach quest, Now You Feel Like Number None.

We've gotten her promoted back to the Espada now. The quest protagonist is her fraccion arrancar. That Cirucci and your Cirucci aren't really very similar thus far, though.
this cirucci probly hasnt gotten fired yet, also probly hasnt been a espada very long either.

It should be pretty obvious that Cirucci's here on Aizen's orders, though. He wants to see us in action, and what better way to see what we've got than to poke us with one of his weaker Espada?

*swoops in from above*

(I haven't read this Quest but some mad fool has pinged me so I'll give a look at the next couple updates, it's interesting to me how someone else handles a character who is so minor in canon)
From what I remember isn't she a shit waifu though?
I can see your sins, Chimera

Did you think you could talk shit

Like I wouldn't find out

Cirucci. Must waifuuuuu
...I somehow don't see the prim, elitist, vain, and sadistic Cirucci Thunderwitch getting into a relationship with a grumpy, thuggish teenager. Even before you set aside the Hollow/Reaper (or Arrancar/Visored) divide. Even before you set aside the fact that she reads about as gay as a tree full of monkeys on nitrous oxide.

Now, I'll grant you that I could picture Neliel getting involved in such a relationship, but she faces the obstacle of a) being a dimension and a half away, b) currently being a toddler. #GoatProblems.

About Arrancar (and Cirucci)

Thanks for the info. Is it on this site?

Cirucci is one of those characters that I really wish got more time in the series. I mean, how much of Nnoitra talking about how hard he was did we actually need? It had to have One Fish Two Fish to show Rukia's character growth, Grimmjow was Ichigo's rival/foil for that arc, and Ulquiorra was Orihime's designated character development catalyst, but all of Nnoitra's episodes could have been cut and replaced with ten minutes of him and Kenpachi fighting. Imagine that -ten straight minutes of Kenpachi and Nnoitra just whaling on each other. That would have been epic.

Back to Cirucci. I got a little sidetracked there. Cirucci Sanderwicci is a Privaron, number 105. Based on the assumption that the first Privaron was number 100 (which seems reasonable to me), that'd make her the fifth Espada to lose her place, chronologically. Dordoni would be the third, and Gantenbainne would be the seventh. She's among the last few of the early generations of Arrancar to lose her place in the Espada, and I think the reason why is most likely because she's a thinker.

Her fight with Uryuu was a mental battle, where she successfully tricked him into destroying the parts of the terrain preventing her from attacking to the fullest extent. She handicaps herself in several ways, at first, so that she can suddenly remove one of her handicaps to surprise an opponent. It was, if I'm honest, one of my favorite fights in Bleach for exactly those reasons. Cirucci was a skill fighter, Uryuu was a technique/equipment user, and in the end the quincy won not because of some eleventh hour power up, but because his last dirty trick was better than hers.

The main issue with using her as a character is figuring out when, exactly, she stopped being an Espada, and where she fit in that group. It's implied that she's a natural one, so by my best guess she stopped being an Espada during the canon storyline, so she's currently one right now. Aizen hasn't started making power houses like Ulquiorra or Nnoitra yet, so the Espada are probably the future Privarons, with Starrk, Baraggan, Szayelaporro, and Two Fish as carry-overs. I'm also unsure if Yammy is one of Aizen's early creations or not.

So, out of those Arrancar I'd put Cirucci somewhere in the middle. She'd beat out Szayelaporro and Red Fish Blue Fish easily enough. Dordonni got dropped from the Espada before her, so she's probably higher than him, but lower than Gantenbainne. I'll throw Yammy in at 10/0, because I like Yammy. She's definitely lower than Baraggan and Starrk as well, so her number is probably between 4 and 6.

Her personality is probably not as vicious as it was after being demoted. She's more likely to play with her enemies longer, because she doesn't have as much to prove, but she's still likely arrogant and open about seeing most other people as literal lesser beings. She's probably not as motivated as she was in the series yet, too, once again because she doesn't have being demoted to drive her onward. She might have fewer tricks up her sleeves as a result.

...I got a little carried away, didn't I?

I'd place Yammy as a later creation than Nnoitra, actually. Yammy is, after all, a weirdo - he's a custom-built freak of nature who stores up power day after day, without limit, until it's all released as a colossal siege weapon that needs to be killed off-screen because whoops time to wrap this story up. That seems like the sort of thing Aizen might need the Hogyoku to create, just as he did with Wonderweiss.

Nnoitra, on the other hand, is very straightforward. His Resurreccion is nothing but extra arms and more strength, and his gimmick is "I am bulletproof", just an upscaled version of a standard Hollow ability. Plus, in the days of Unspecified Flashback Time, he was already a member of the Espada. He'd been combing the desert with Neliel as his shadow for a while.

In fact, that's about the only thing that makes him special - in canon, he's actually climbed up the ranks of the Espada since joining. He was #8 back when Neliel was around, and Szayel appears to have claimed his former spot as part of their collaboration against her.

Are Arrancar actually hungry?
Like, don't they lose a lot of their hunger?
They don't need to constantly eat souls, no.

But then, Kyoraku doesn't need to constantly drink.

Yup, right here. (The protagonist joins up with Cirucci around Update 14.)

As a fellow Bleach Quest writer, this is very interesting! I hope you don't mind me crashing your discussion a little.

I had a different interpretation of the Privaron numbers myself - I essentially had it so that a Privaron's number is their old Espada number (as a reminder of where they once stood), with a 10 added in front to signify their demotion. This makes their power scale the inverse of yours - Gentenbainne is less powerful than Cirucci who is less powerful than Dordonni. Amusingly, we still ended up with the same conclusion otherwise; I also think in terms of raw power Cirucci would beat Fishbowl Guy and Pink Science Guy, who are Espada because of how useful they are to Aizen and their many, many tricks.

That said I can absolutely see your reasoning for Privarons being ranked based on when they were demoted - which, interestingly, suggests that there are at least four more Privarons we don't see on-screen in your canon, numbers 106, 104, 102, 101 and 100? Fertile grounds for OC antagonists to throw your Questers a curveball if they think they know all significant Arrancars from canon, which I always approve of.

One thing I've done in my Quests, since you mention not being sure when you'd have Yammy join, is that all of the latest Arrancars are custom-made creations by Aizen, using the Hogyokou to reforge their Resurreccion and special powers to fulfill a specific purpose (such as Yammy being made into a living siege engine optimized for single-use).

In any case it looks like you have solid thoughts on the Arrancars and their hierarchy/origins (and you've been at this Bleach Quest gig a lot longer than I have), so I'm interested to see this.

i might be wrong but i think Ulquiorra was a natural arrancar.

According to the (canonical) extra materials Ulquiorra is a natural arrancar who was super lonely because he was white all over, and broke his mask by accident when he stabbed his face on a giant tree. Then Aizen showed up, and he joined because something something.

As this is a) really fucking dumb, and b) gibes with nothing of his characterization, most people ignore it.

Listen, Cirucci is like, my biggest fetish in Bleach for some fucking reason I dunno (Unohana comes up second), the fetish doesn't care for logic, it cares only for itself.

Or in picture form:

Thus, I will shoot for the stars.

The BDSM-themed Rider (Medusa) is your avatar, your "biggest fetish in Bleach" is Cirucci, a sadistic woman in goth loli who wields a whip that she lashes at people from a high perch, and in second place is Unohana, a terrifying woman in a position of complete authority.

It shouldn't take much self-reflection to get to the bottom of this, dude.

Good points. It also makes Nnoitra's grudge against Nelliel better, because she's not just a woman with a higher rank, but a newcomer with a higher rank, potentially forcing him into a higher number.

Will we be seeing a preview today, or would that be rather too difficult to write?
You'll get one.

This makes their power scale the inverse of yours - Gentenbainne is less powerful than Cirucci who is less powerful than Dordonni.
Your interpretation also fits with who they fought. Gentenbainne fought Chad, Cirucci fought Uryuu, and Dordonni fought Ichigo, so that lines up with the protagonists' rough power levels.

Exactly.

I have a saying for things like that. "If I wanted Kubo's opinion on how to do plot twists, I'd have pulled it out of his ass myself".

I'd say that he likes mature women, but Cirucci's kind of not that.

I want a harem of short and short tempered woman. Those are in short(Pun intended.) supply IRL, those pushing the protagonists of quests in those directions is as close as I get.
Now
[] Hungry
or
[] A gothic lolita?
Maybe irritating her at first and then waifuing her with [] Clearly a cosplayer, could work too.
Still need to think.

Ah, I see you are a pursuer of the rare and elusive HiyorIchigo ship. To develop this path, you must enter the Visored route early on, then grind your Sandal Resistance and Mental Endurance skills to 99 each. The reward is a rich and fulfilling marriage to a furious, fanged Slav midget in a tracksuit.

A small part of my reason for going with the cosplayer option was to irritate them enough to shut down waifuing preemptively, even if they end up on our side later. Should another option prove better at that purpose, though, I'd consider it.
