It's not final year students, it's "two years or more".

So, we're jumping Taco forward in the line by a fair bit, but it's not that much. And there will be lots of other students, and some officers, to keep an eye on things.

Also, we need to keep on her good side, in case Kukaku and Byakuya try to marry Ichigo off to Rukia and a decoy fiance is required.
 
I am legitimately curious how he'd take theguy that beat him the way Ichigo did, inviting him. For all we know, the guy has some surprising depths to him, beneath the not-great first impression.

Seperately - and it's admittedly meta as heck - if Espada/etc. trainwrecking happens, I'd rather not have along someone we HAVE to protect.

Lastly, I am still generally biased against Takako for being OC, and Rukia for how much i've seen her in assorted works leaving me feeling oversaturated... so there's that, too.

...so, just some thoughts on why we should have been/should be a little more sensitive about Zangetsu's size:

It occurs to me that asking him to shrink is like asking Ichigo to dye his hair.

Would be okay with Rukia too...in fact, she's probably the optimal choice, in many ways.

Which is why I'm going with Takako. Having someone more experienced than ourself along to help feels like taking a handicap...although, admittedly, Ichigo doesn't know that Rukia's easily strong enough to be a Seated Officer.

Besides, Takako gets to show off too, this way.
 
Dunno, I don't have any love left for Takako, she ain't waifu material and since she's no friend of mine she may as well fade into obscurity.

The least bad of the three options I think, guess we're going to be spending time with her anyways, might as well get to the trust-building part early.
