Uhm, just in case it wasn't clear, I was referring to how Kaien and Ichigo have a similar apperance, with a difference being that the two of them have a different hair colour, with Kaien's having been purple.

Basically, I don't see Ichigo tossing aside the name of his mother and sisters.
I don't entirely agree on the fear of taking the Shiba name leading to Isshin being discovered. I think Ichigo will be somewhat screwed on that front once people see him using Getsuga Tensho, since Isshin is the only other person in canon to use that attack. I'm not saying he'll be discovered, but I don't think taking the name would make the situation that much worse.

I know I've joked about Ichigo being a palleteswap of Kaien, but they do have slightly different builds and faces. Like, it's definitely a very strong similiarity (as sometimes happens with cousins), but they aren't actually identical.
He kept it sealed, not released.

So to all those worried about abandoning the Kurosaki name, something to consider:
- Designating a new word as one's family name does not, in and of itself, mean that the prior family name ceases to exist - it just means it stops being the part of your name that designates one's family affiliation.
- There are Shinigami with more than two parts to their names (more than just family name and given name), with the highest ranking one being Old Man Genocide himself (Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto), so simply extending Ichigo's name (Shiba Kurosaki Ichigo) wouldn't appear to violate some sort of name length rule.
- Kukaku doesn't seem the type that would demand Ichigo abandon the name to get in the clan she's currently head of.
