Because for some reason, focusing on being a self-sacrificial idiot when trying to contact someone who's primary purpose is protecting you strikes me as a bad idea.
And also because Ichigo's friends really need more spotlight.
Side note- the sister vote implies that he's shoved them out of the way of danger before. Like maybe the truck sort of danger. Previously I thought he just got hit, now I think he took the hit for them.

Nah. If Nojimura had pulled that stunt in Squad 12, she would no longer be a Soul Reaper, much less a seated officer. Nobody is allowed to interfere with the Captain's experiments, even if it's just the control group.

I just realized Zangetsu near certainly wouldn't like Ichigo being in fourth division but he probably will like the fourth division for having the same priorities as him when it comes to Ichigo surviving.

I was under the impression that. Zangetsu enjoyed a good fight, so Ichigo going full healer probably wouldn't be enjoyed. That the division practically is forced to specialize in restraining stubborn patients so that they heal? They'd make his Christmas card list if he wrote any.
