I'd rather keep away from Yoruichi for now. Part of the appeal to ms in the academy arc is that we get to have some time before dealing with the major cast, though probably not that long given we died only a year before the main plot starts. That's me though.
I'm not counting out the possibility TPK is just pulling our leg and that the cat is just a random cat though.

If we don't pick the cat option, it was totally Yoruichi and we're missing out on hilarious shenanigans. If we pick the cat option, it's just a ghost cat, and all Ichigo's spare time is eaten up by dealing with the cat instead of training, so he never graduates.
