Because there's a lot of cool ways of playing upon a relatively healthy AI servitor race. Loyalist-Men of Iron, Geth, even just the administrative and military AI you see in Halo.

Noblebright or not, the idea of a symbiotic bond between races is in interesting one, especially if it's not going to be one where either side arbitrarily turns on each other.

Besides, AI and psionics- tell me that's not going to end in awesomeness?

Mainly because I have a brilliant idea for an omake about when the first AI came to be.
 
I'd rally want either Survivor or Nomad, but considering how the votes are going that is not going to happen.
