Winter is Coming: House Stark Quest

Uhh guys, does cat know that littlefinger set up ned to die?
cuz according to the currenty winning vote, we get his head.
So if we kill him, wont she get mad at us?
Or will lysa attack us because we killed her lover?

Given that Ned is alive to inform Cat of this, I don't anticipate it being a problem in that regard.

Oh Robb will lead the southern war no contest, he's a far superior general and a far more inspirational warrior and is far less constrained by his honour in the facet of war.

Keep in mind that both wars might need talented generals and warriors. You don't know much of what's happening Beyond the Wall. Or outside of Westeros.

Robb staying to see out the war makes sense. And I imagine that Ned wants his wife and daughters home after all this, so taking them himself while going to see about the defense of the North is reasonable. I imagine the bannermen would see it as being appropriate too, since it can be construed as the southern forces serving to defend their liege's return to his rightful realm.

Hang on.

Who said anything about going home? The Quiet Wolf still has to fuck some shit up. He's very repressed, doncha know.

Man screw Myrcella and the Baratheons all I want is to crush the Ironborn and take all their ships and islands. Although having the incest spawn to claim Casterly Rock to fund that ambition is mighty tempting...are we turning down a literal mountain of gold everyone?

Give them the cripple Brandon and get those goldmines!!!

You found yourself frowning as Cersei once again stormed out of the room, your cheek still red and stinging. The woman was... difficult to say the least. Still, you were hopeful that you could see yourself and Sansa safely removed from the city before she wore you down enough to accept her absurd propositions. Myrcella as Robb's mistress, honestly. The very though was ridiculous.

Although... perhaps as a hostage to the throne's good behavior...

Hm, the rest of it is clearly for yuks, but I wonder if Charcolt is making a bit of a suggestion here for one of the demands we could make.

Edit: oh, didn't read Charcolt's posts after this. Yep. Clearly hinting at the possibility. If we don't go for it now then perhaps later. Though now would be a good time to negotiate that sort of thing.

-[X] Jaime will be exchanged for Ned, Sansa and any of his men still imprisoned by Lannisters. Robert's bastards and any family will have safe passage out of the city along with Ned's party. The other noble hostages stay with the army as 'insurance'. Tyrion and Kevan's sons' release can be negotiated if Cersei makes a counter-offer.
-[X] The North and Riverlands will also receive fair compensation directly from Casterly Rock's coffers for the damage caused and men lost.
-[X] You will also be given back Ice, that book 'proving' Cersei's incest and Littlefinger's head right the hell now.
-[X] The Northern host will not march on King's Landing.
-[X] Hostage exchange. Myrcella for an equal hostage (to be determined).

I know the vote is over in a matter of hours. I kind of like the idea, though.

And my sadly sober bow!

Worse comes to worse Cersei says no to the Myrcella option when she makes her counter-offer, so why not ask? I'm not even for Robb marrying her, she's just a genuinely nice person. Having one of those kicking around your castle should be a status symbol equivalent to owning a Valyrian steel blade in Westeros!

@Crimson Moon I hope you'll add at least the part about Robert's bastards to your plan before the vote closes. And maybe the part about Myrcella. It's an idea that has some potential.

Guys, I think it's fair to assume that Ned would try and save Robert's bastards. The Myrcella part of my additions to CM's plan is something that may or may not even happen. This allows the possibility, and it could pay off.

I'd say Tywin and Clegane are too dangerous to ever be let loose now that they're firmly in Robb's clutches. See what Cersei says about them in her counter-offer and go from there.

Also, just had a thought, if the Others are going back to the drawing board due to Crastor's defective kids and thus there is no threat of the Long Night 2.0 for at least the duration of this quest, did Bran still fall? I may be remembering things incorrectly, but wasn't his crippling in some way orchestrated by Bloodraven, to force Bran down the path of being his successor? If there is no threat from the Others, is there a reason for Bloodraven to poke his nose in things? Is it a case of the Others gearing up then suddenly going "its all FUBAR, back to the lands of always winter for another few thousand years!" and Bloodraven is left hanging mid-plot with a now needlessly crippled kid? Or is Bloodraven still going after Bran because, Others or not, he's just too old for this greenseer shit?

Why the hell is this a hostage exchange?

The whole reasoning behind this negotiation is to get all Northmen out of King's Landing, and you guys now want to give someone to Cersei? Someone of equal value (which can only mean someone from our family or an equally important lordling -- which would piss off one of our allies)?

If you guys want Myrcella as a hostage, then for God's sake don't give Cersei someone in return. Just demand Myrcella.

In this Others-free canon Bran fell because he disobeyed his mother and climbed, only to be pushed out of a window. Bloodraven was Lord Commander of the Night's Watch but eventually died after years of service. The direwolf mother... well, that right there is a spoiler. The Craster line was just a throwaway joke when the real reason they're gone is I wanted to not deal with them in this particular story. We can pretend the Long Night ended with their extinction instead of any survivors left behind to return thousands of years later.

Because something called realistic expectations makes that unlikely.

Decent point. I could edit it to make it not outright say exchange...though not denying a possible exchange outright. Cersei may suggest an exchange for a counter offer (or not, just to get one of her children away from the possible wrath of Baratheons).

...so what your saying is that Dark Sister is laying around somewhere in Castle Black rather than out in the woods beyond the Wall? Right, let's send Jon a raven, we've got a mission for him.

You're being awfully judgemental towards a teenager.
You should see how I am with even smaller kids. I swear every single one of them is an idiot.

A. Cersei won't agree to that. B. We get a chance to ditch Sansa. I mean who else can we give as an equal hostage to her daughter, but our own daughter?

But if we give her Sansa, we need to break the betrothal. We can each have our kids back when Sansa is 16 and to be married to someone other than Joffrey.

Thoughts on the possible edit? Not important, or a bad/good idea?

Anyway, I have to turn in for now. Night all. Hope my vote gains traction.

I don't suppose the vote can be given a bit more time, @Charcolt ?
