Winter is Coming: House Stark Quest

Not until A Clash of Kings. Barra is currently safe and can be added to your retinue with her mother. Good catch!

Thanks. @Atri , @Crimson Moon . Since you have the leading plans, you may want to include Barra/her mother/any other of Robert's possible bastards in King's Landing (though I think it's just her and Gendry) as part of the retinue.

@Charcolt , would we need to include making an offer to Barristan to come with us? That seems outside the purview of negotiations, but it is securing safe passage...

The next vote will be a transition into the next part of the story (now that we've finished the "save Ned" arc). It will include many options, including potential marriages for all the Stark children (except Rickon), outreach to other Kingdoms, actions as the war expands, and so on. Some of these possibilities will depend on what you choose here of course.

Poor Rickon...

Then again, if his future wife is raised away from most other Freys she'll have a much better chance at actually having a good personality, even if she doesn't wind up pretty.

A pretty waifu is overrated anyway....:p

Ok, finally on a computer that can access SV rather than a phone...

This might need to be "for X months" rather than an absolute statement of not marching on King's Landing. Or could also be not entering the Crownlands altogether, since not marching on King's Landing still lets us fuck over the Crownlands if we're so inclined.

.

That sounds like a good change. With this and adding the bastards (and family) to the escort out of the city (and maybe Barrristan? depending on Charcolt's answer) I think I prefer Crimson Moon's plan.

Ok guys. I have a plan I want to throw in the ring. I only have my phone so it will be a pain to type, explaining why I was waiting for someone else to present one I liked, so give me a few minutes to write it.

EDIT - he was in the center army in the Green Fork, by the by.
Didn't we kind of run over the centre of the army in the Battle against Tywin?
Let's hope the Northern Horse didn't kill him whilst they were busy kicking the shit out of an army near ten times their size with a single charge.

If he was under Jaime that's actually worse. The Riverlanders got very enthusiastic during that battle

Actually, question - was Leo Lefford killed or captured during our battle with Tywin? He was at the Battle of the Green Fork in canon. (maybe we should roll for it?)

EDIT - he was in the center army in the Green Fork, by the by.

I did private rolls for most of the commanders because I didn't want to spam everyone with "did X survive" rolls. Leo is alive (though it was rather close) and one of Robb's prisoners.

@Charcolt when you're introducing best waifu Val? Next update I hope. Peasants have to be illuminated.

It depends on who you send to deal with those dastardly Wildlings next update!

Well, that does put us in a good bargaining position. Edmure's quite a bit older than Alyssane, but not so old that waiting a few years until she's of marriageable age would be a major problem - might need to have her moved to Riverrun in the mean time though, to ensure the deal is kept.

Gives them time to get to know each other at least and as a hostage we hold more power over him

Yo @Charcolt how Old is Ysilla Royce?

[X] Plan: Negotiate
-[X] Opening offer
--[X] The Lannisters will surrender the throne to Stannis Baratheon and King's Landing to the Northern Army.
---[X] The Northern Army will refrain from sacking the city or invading the Westerlands.
--[X] Cersei will join a convent (or whatever the equivalent is).
--[X] The children will become wards of other Lords.
--[X] Gregor Clegane will be executed for his crimes.
--[X] Tywin will be offered the Black.
--[X] Jaime will be offered the Black.
--[X] Tyrian will abdicate his right to Casterly Rock and be ransomed. The gold going to the Riverlands to compensate them.
--[X] All other nobles will be ransomed. The gold going to the Riverlands in compensation.
-[X] Second offers (depending on what is not accepted).
--[X] If they won't surrender the city. Ned, his family, his retinue (Rob's bastards we know about included) and their possessions (Ice, ect.) will be granted safe passage to Northern lines.
--[X] Cersei will go into exile.
--[X] Tommen will go into exile (w/ Cersei).
--[X] Myrcella will go into exile (w/ Cersei).
--[X] Joffrey will go into exile (w/ Cersei).
--[X] Jaime will go into exile (w/ Cersei).
--[X] Tyrion does not have to abdicate Casterly Rock.
--[X] Kevan Lannister's sons are released without ransom.

Wut?

You realize Cersei doesn't actually think she's lost.

Then that roll will fail and she'll live until Stannis, Renly, and/or Robb sacks the city.
I'm also assuming that her promising to take Jaime into exile with her implies that we are releasing Jaime into her care. The prisoner exchange you all talk about.
If Cersei doesn't keep her end of the bargain, well she deals with the consequences.

I think you guys have the leading votes? I would include all members of the stark household, such as Jeyne Poole et al and Roberts surviving bastards (credit to spudman) as part of the deal for Jaime and one of Kevans sons

I asked them about that earlier as well.

I also asked Charcolt about Barristan and if we should add him to make sure he gets out okay. But that might not really be necessary to spell out.

Anyway...I don't want to split the vote, but if they don't change their plans I'll make a suggestion.

It's a combination of @Crimson Moon 's and @Meneldur 's plans...sort of.

[] Plan spudman
[] In exchange for Jaime: the release of Ned, Sansa, any of our surviving household, Robert's bastards and their kin, and Ser Barristan; along with that book 'proving' Cersei's incest, and whatever personal items of ours we want (from Ice to Sansa's dresses, for all I care), and Littlefinger's head right the hell now.
-[] Weregild for any of our household killed in King's Landing.
-[] The other noble hostages stay with the army as 'insurance' for the moment. Tyrion and Kevan's sons' release can be negotiated if Cersei makes a counter-offer.
-[] The North and Riverlands will also receive fair compensation directly from Casterly Rock's coffers for the damage caused and men lost. In exchange the Northern host will not march on King's Landing.
-[] If they want any of the others, etc. that is to be agreed upon with further negotiations once we're back with our army.

Though I'm thinking that perhaps the demand for reparations to the North and Riverlands for the conflict there can and should wait until later negotiations instead of being part of this initial negotiation. It could make the deal easier to swallow for Cersei.

We want to push hard, but not too hard right now.

Could I get some commentary on my plan?

@Charcolt

When do you plan on calling the vote?

I was planning to give you all another 12.5 hours (to 8:00 AM EST), unless there's an overwhelming consensus.
Adhoc vote count started by Charcolt on Jul 18, 2017 at 7:21 PM, finished with 213 posts and 32 votes.

  • [X] Plan CM 1.0
    [X] Plan Neutrality
-[X] Ned, Sansa, Ice and any still living men of our household are exchanged for Jaime and Kevan's sons.
-[X] Robb's army will withdraw to the Riverlands, thus giving the Lannisters a chance to deal with the Baratheons.
-[X] If, after a year, no Lannister attacks happen upon our territories, then Lannister men can be ransomed back. Tywin goes last.
-[X] Somewhat high but bearable reparations for all the losses.
-[X] As long as Cersei's line are on the throne, the North and all territories under its rule don't acknowledge the King of the Iron Throne as their sovereign.
[x] Tell Robb to keep all prisioners alive and treat them honourably. Demand to have Arya and Sansa return to Robb in exchange for Jaime and Tyrion (daughters for sons), Ned can go home in exchange for Tywin (Lords for Lords). Now, I think the Lannisters won't accept this if Ned/Robb just immediately declares for Stannis, so assure them of the North's neutrality and have them publicly forgive any and all perceived ills and treasons against the crown for now. This is a sucession crisis, the North has nothing to do with it.
[X]Ned negotiates a truce between Stannis and the Lannisters. Stannis takes the throne but his daughter marries Tommen so he will be the next king.
-[X] If, after a year, no Lannister attacks happen upon our territories, then Lannister men can be ransomed back. Tywin goes last.
-[X] As long as Cersei's line are on the throne, the North and all territories under its rule don't acknowledge the King of the Iron Throne as their sovereign.
-[X] Exchange of prisoners to take place halfway between our army and King's Landing, with Robb bringing as large an escort as he wants.
-[X] If they want Tywin, Tyrion, any of the others, etc. that is to be agreed upon with further negotiations once we're back with our army.
-[X] We won't execute any of the hostages who haven't committed obvious crimes until further negotiation (so we can't execute Tyrion, for example, but we can execute Gregor).

I just want a good amount of Gold to help fortify the North and satisfy our men, maybe build up Moat Cailin a bit and repair some holdfasts. Also, I was just thinking that if we actually get Baelish's head then Lysa will flip. Who wants to bet she suddenly starts ordering her bannermen to attack us on the way back North?

Moat Cailin would be a money sink because it's not really needed to defend against southern incursions, though investing in the North does sound good.
As for Lysa I doubt many Vale lords would listen to such an insane order.
