Write-ins. They're a thing. :p
He says to the guy who did a write-in in that post.

Also, I am TERRIBLE at naming things.
good solid Necromancer name you've got there :)
Not mine. Copied from Archeo Lumiere. I'm not taking the credit for that.
Would like a protagonist who's actually of age for once, but 21 trades in far too much power/knowledge for me to accept.
One of his other quests, Partition, has a protagonist who is of age. You can always take part in that, instead. (Yes, shameless plug is shameless, but I really want that quest's discussion to be more active, since that correlates with Alivaril's interest).

I appreciate the sales pitch, but I know about Partition. I've been following it since it was first posted. If you put in a link, though, you might be able to pull in other interested parties. :)

@Alivaril can we be dense as fuck.
Like neutron-degenerate matter levels of dense?
I want to be pretty shaman girl with ghosts friends elemental force or nature parents but hardly any real living/human ones and fuck all idea how to understand the teenagers fumbling around their hormonal drunkenness.
Basically can we have a "was raised by wolves" style thing going on or would that be way too far from what you have in mind?

Raised by Ghosts and Elementals? I'd play that :lol

Sorry if it seems a bit early to Science out our MC's powers out but I'm wondering if using bronze makes a different kind of metal elemental than using iron, and different materials like that. Would the MC know that Alivaril?

Not sure I like making this choice at all :V but here's why I think 18 is the way to go:
- Magical capacity - this isn't really likely to come up often after character creation. Right now we see the difference between the ages because we're directly comparing them but once we start to play the quest proper we won't very often if at all. We've been noted as having a higher than average anyway.
- Maturity - I'm all for being able to take care of ourselves somewhat. Also, 18 is the start of the age where really young people will start to ignore us. A 16-year-old who is behind might get bullied. An 18-year-old less so, who cares about that old fart anyway?
- Learning - I'll go against the grain and just call out our character as an unreliable narrator. Sure, we'll start behind in the basics, but so what? Some people go to college until they're 30. If she gets to a high school level by 22 and a college level by 28, eh, whatever. Still got there. I can't imagine we don't pursue mental enhancement magics anyway. e: And like, the character's personality is very conductive to learning.
- Puberty - At least she's aware of it. I feel 16 is going to be super awkward.

You'll at least have some ability to read people, with more of it as you get older.

She thinks they'd be the same. Also, you're not making them, you're just providing what an existing elemental needs to make themselves a body. Or... something like that. You're fuzzy on the details.

I've taught high school. While some of them are very impressive in certain ways... underneath it all, fourteen year olds are punks, sixteen year olds can be punks whenever the moon is full. I'd honestly like to have a character who's got a reasonable degree of maturity, and who is old enough to socialize with other mature individuals. And the combination of "raised in a pre-industrial society where adolescents are expected to be productive" and "is eighteen" sounds promising for that.

That said, I understand the 'desire to hoover up magic' aspect that motivates people voting for young; I won't be disappointed if sixteen wins.
