[X] Stay and work with him. Despite his intense methods, you did ask for this. Besides, if it were anyone else other than him, you might have killed them. He's not the nicest man, but he is trying to help.

What metal gear meme? I meant close quarters combat. That's what everyone calls it everywhere. H2H doesn't actually exist.

I was thinking of this.

Actually, Alex could do that as well. But for the love of god don't let him go all out. If the person is invulnerable, the continent will crack.

First post here, I've been following from the beginning and I gotta say I'm loving this quest and its premise (I think its a shame 90% of Worm fanfiction is just TAYLORTAYLORTAYLOR), that said I think you made Eidolon waaaay too much of an asshole.

Maybe the player character just brings the asshole out in him, I mean, the way he acted is exactly the way mu beat friend and I treat one another.

Man our character is incompetent. Has complete control over gravity, best idea he comes up with is throwing rocks. He even manually dodged! As for H2H what's stopping him from just wrapping himself in a black hole to prevent anyone getting anywhere near him?

He litteraly just got it yesterday.Hell he was nearly driven mad by his power before he got that aspect of it under control.

That's what this training is for so he gets a crash course in how to fight with his power and experiment with it.

He should have at least realized he can fly by now. He made contessa fly just beforehand.

It's one thing to pick up and trow someone else it's quite another to pick up and trow himself.

Hell we don't even know if his powers work on himself.
Unless I'm misreading he realized he could move his hand with gravity in the same update and given he's got an instinctive force field going I'd say his powers work on himself.

he's never used his powers actively on himself to the degree your suggesting. Let's be clear here 1-2 G's too many can kill him instaintly, Wiplash from sudden acceleration can kill him, 100s of other things could go wrong and in the middle of a fight he was not prepared for he panics. That's Normal for someone who's never been in a Life or death situation before. No one who's never fought before is going to be thinking clearly and experimenting in the middle of a fight. Give him time to not be Panicked and confused and time to practice and come to grip with what he can do and how he can do it to it's maximum effect.

and let's be honest a Hundred tons of rock chucked at a guy would end most fights.

He has complete control over gravity. Presumably he can just accelerate himself without feeling the effects of gravity acting on him. I mean he formed shields out of warped space in front of him without feeling the huge pull of gravity that should have caused.

The shields were instinctive not purposely made.

And you're arguing from the point of hindsight. If someone came at you right now with a knife and was in the middle of swinging it at you would you be able to come up with and utilize a plan or would you flail about

First off, glad that you could start the vote, happy to have you.

For the second, I want to make one thing clear.

David/Eidolon is a dick, he has a reason beyond his powers, but he is an arrogant guy.

Along with that, notice how Alex has been reacting to most things. He's shoved off being ordered around, compliments, and compassion. The only times that genuine reactions have rocked him is when someone looked down on him. He cried his eyes out when he realized that he wasn't able to accomplish anything worthwhile when he thought he was going to die useless. When Manton shoved him away, he instantly wanted to prove him wrong.

David used this. He made Alex see the first special thing about him, his powers, as useless.

And in response to this, Alex was able to ignore the thought of dying to a god to put up a fight.

This guy, you guys will be hating this guy in time. :V

Oh yeah he's incompetent.

But, he's also a 17 year old kid who had his powers for two days who never hurt anyone in his life.

Along with this, he's a highschool dropout and whose knowldge of physics and practical thinking doesn't go beyond "How do I get through my work shift the fastest so I can get home to my family?"

Alex is not a midmaxer, hell he's never been in a fight in his life. Everyone else in Cauldron has three plus months to acclimate and train with their powers. Alex was thrown into the situation because Contessa deemed that he needed to grow fast in order to get him to fighting strength ASAP due to his shard.

I mean yeah he's new to it but on the other hand his power is apparently intuitive enough it only took him like three uses of it to go from accidentally pulping things to perfectly controlling the flight of a pencil.

It's also kinda important to remember that the Eidolon we see in Worm is significantly less powerful than he used to be.

This is Eidolon at the height of his power, the time when most people who knew him agree that he was powerful enough to win against an Endbringer one on one. And we just managed to impress him.

People can intuitvely throw a punch, kick and do things like grab someone. Now compare a person who never fought in their life against someone with experience and/training. Just because someone can throw a punch doesn't make them good at it.

I'm not saying he should have beaten David, I'm saying that for a power as apparently intuitive and expansive as that, his showing was pretty poor. He tried to punch, grab, block and throw with his power but he didn't try dodging with it?
