We should not jump in bed with a warlord without having a measure of the other warlords first. And if possible play them against each other.
That has a rather nasty habit of backfiring. Once they find out they've been played they might all just decide they're better off with no dawi settlement in the area. Sure they might never directly attack. But they have other ways to put on the pressure.

@Mayto for Karak Izor and the Cult of Gazul, that is the quest clan that would gain political influence, and not Karak Izor gaining political influence over the quest clan?

Well, that might be taken out of the quest clan's hands. Just from the lack of anyone else they have interacted with among the humans. The Warlord does seem to be willing to allow the quest clan to be neutral, it is unknown if WIssenland, and the SIgmarites are okay with this state of affairs. Or what the situation in the Wissenland capital is like, also why is Peildorf not able to be made diplomatic contact with?

I just want to check in on the other polities in the WIssenland before they age into something the quest clan cannot interact with. Helping the Warlord with the forest clearing was mutually beneficial, and if more actions like that pop up as opportunities, helping the Warlord will be more beneficial.

Or maybe the quest clan's intent for neutality can be made more solid through diplomacy early on and will grow harder later on even if the quest clan does nothing.

Also, diplomacy with other Dawi is still helpful, since they also do trade through the area and can give us information about the various factions. I do still want to diplo the Sigmarites and Wissenland and whatnot, but I wouldn't say we're in a major rush for it. We're going into turn 4, and the prologue section will continue until turn 10, so we got time.

What may be more critical is establishing trade relations and exports so we can get a greater income with which we can hire experts from other Karaks like Zhufbar

Uh, no, the quest is running out of time to make diplomatic contact with the Sigmarites and WIssenland. Because each turn is a year, to profit or react to the info from making diplomatic contact with the Sigmarites and Wissenland means a need for more turns available, and not say finally doing it on Turn 9, and losing out with Turn 10, after making one more in road with the Warlord in the next six turns.

In addition, while there is evidence to support making contact with the Karaks can deliver access to the Rumor Mill, that rumor mill so far is related to the Karaks, not the human polities, or even Wissenland. The one action that would unlock the empire rumor mill, is the riverboats action, while overland trade unlocks more access to the Karaks rumor mill.

Mhm. After sleeping over it we really can get everything from Karak Hirn and Norn the normal way, even if it takes a bit longer. We don't have a true need for gunpowder right now and I'm sure Norn will accommodate us over time.

Similarly:
The gateway to Barak Varr. Trade hub between the World's Edge Karaz Ankor and the Empire. The Empire's armoured underbelly.
Is essentially just us starting to trade with them. It's not like they will stop being an armored underbelly.

Only thing I'm slightly leary off is that Izor will try and exert influence if we lean too much on them, but as long as we got Norn to counterbalance them and Hirn to make us mostly indipendent of Izir tradevwise, we should be alright.

Izor gives us the best and most important benefits right now, but we have to make sure we are aware of how they operate.

Then it's a good thing I didn't say to not Diplo them for five turns. I said it isn't strictly needed right now. That means I think we can do them turn 5 or maybe 6 rather than turn 4, this isn't a binary decision where it's now or never. It's why I want to do Karak Izor for the Cult of Gazul, so we can make contact with them, then next turn we Diplo Hirn and trade food with them. From that, we will have covered all the Karak Dawi diplomacy for a little while and can then put our focus on the Umgi.

And I'm not talking about the rumor mill, I'm talking about learning about the Umgi via how the Dawi have interacted with them recently. If the Wissenlanders cheated Karak Hirn out of a bunch of gold due to the Umgi peddling faulty goods, if the Sudenland Free State have been providing Karak Izor with lumber for years but have needed protection from Izor's warriors in order to effectively keep up with the demand, if Wolfbreaker attacked a diplomatic meeting between Norn and the people of Kell, etc. Nothing that is happening currently but events in the past.

Karak Izor has set itself up as a sort of 'western everpeak' for the Dawi. With it actively mediating and attempting to solve disputes between clans and guilds, sending out reckoners and offering their services.

Its mutual. They'd try to exert a bit of influence, but you'd be able to draw upon their influence to try and have things done that favor you.

Love that every turn gets its own info, when I started reading on this site it was always a bit sad that I could not keep track of info the questers were talking about. Since that info was only kept in one info post that showed only the final stats of the quest.

Considering the guy is already married that would get akward.
Well, Valaya practiced Polyamory...

If we roll a Nat 1 can we please get a Skaven badly disguised as a dwarf showing up at our front door and being let in?
Ah yes, the Furfoot-feet family. Odd bunch. Bit nervy, like to keep to themselves. But they have this hilarious party trick where it looks like their beards fall off, and they have to hold them on. Hilarious, gets me everytime. Very good at parties, always eat a lot. There is a lot of them too, you'd think their matriarch would be exhausted looking after all her children. But when there's trouble she bites down hard on it. Sometimes literally. As I said, odd bunch.

Anyway, they make cheese.

Reboot denied us gromil, but it shant deny us family
Nothing stronger than family... except gromil.
