I think if we were to do some lessons learned on this campaign is that it's good to spend a lot of wealth on Umgi because they don't hurt our dwarf power when lost and that Destroyer Golems are great and we should make a lot more. Also maybe we can look into hiring more Djinn considering how they acted as a useful Destroyer charge.
The major lessons are that we should bring runic guardians, don't attack through already existing tunnels if we don't have to, and that mercenaries, runic weapons, oathbearer throngs, and destroyers are overpowered, so they should be the focus of continued military development. Although that last point was already the plan, this just confirmed our already existing suspicions.
Regardless, pretty much the only thing we could have changed would be to have dug our own tunnels into the second level of the karak, which would have most likely led to the second level being a roll over compared to what actually ended up happening.

Though Elves also have proven to be absolutely OP. We should ask the Pheonix Emperor how much it would cost to bring some of his guys when we try and conquer another hold. It'll be expensive but probably really useful

The elves fielded a power 6/7 army with a +3 commander, +2 magic support and +2 dragons.
At the time we had power 5/5 high throng with a +2 commander.
We were significantly outpowered.

Actually we had a power 5/8 High Throng. Elder Runic Equipment at the time was a +3.
Furthermore, the context for that army means it is effectively irreplaceable. It would have been the last remnants of the Tethlis-era army where literally the entirety of Ulthuan was bent towards total war. It's not the sort of regular force the Elves could mobilize. It's the last accumulation of every single veteran of the Scouring, veterans of centuries of the highest intensity warfare the High Elves have ever experienced, and their numbers are only going to get lower.
Not to mention I think that using the War of the Northern Holds in general leads to a skewed perspective, because Lonkas has admitted that things in the War of the Northern Holds as depicted were just too much in terms of scale. A revised Host of Bel Khorhadris Arvanis would likely have had a much smaller size, probably closer to the 10,000 that made up the High Throng.
This is the era where Ulthuan's core army consists not of the mass levy of every citizen who can bear arms, but noble retinues of retinues augmented by martial orders like the White Lions, Sisters of Avelorn, etc. Arvanis has no doubt made moves to build up a larger army in preparation for his war with Naggaroth, but the Asur military structurally has low numbers relative to the population and the general political will of the Asur to mobilize further if not in a fight for their own survival is low, so there'll be limits to what even he can do.
Marching figures could with some difficulty be spied out, marching forth from the gates of the eight peaks, armored entirely head to toe in plate, and fine plate if he were to take the measure of it. Behind the column also came two cannons, dragged forward by what appeared to be a pair of titanic wolves, dragging the weapons at equal speed to the host in front of them.
Slowly Glorin Lowered the spyglass, handing it back to the lookout with a grimace.
"And how long has this been going on" The High King grumbles at last, the words the roar of a distant avalanche.
The lookout has the self control to not allow the worry to show plainly on his features, though being the focus of the dread necromancers wrath was something no unashamed dawi would ever desire.
"It began yesterday milord and hasn't let up since, forty thousand so far and doesn't seem to be slowing down. About eighty cannon as well, though those are mostly smaller pieces"
Glorin nods, surely even such numbers would just be Nagash's Vanguard. Even with troops such as these he would need many to force his way back into the hold. Silently he cursed the Zharr who were so foolish that they believed they could keep such a creature tame with their scraps. Surely the Black Orcs were example enough of their foolishness, that the lesson would have sunk in deep enough. Though their benighted realm should serve as a worthy example regardless.
"Drazh wasn't built in the age of cannon, we'll have to prepare for his coming, have you seen the blasted creature anywhere among his minions?"
The lookout moved to shrug before remembering who he was speaking to "One skeleton's much the same as any other sire. But I haven't seen any especially big ones cept those giants of his, and none have made any speeches or nothing.
Glorin was briefly amused by the image of a dead general trying to pantomime their living equivalents, though the reports he had read of the Thaggorakkis interactions did seem to speak to Nagash being perhaps such a character. "He is said to be larger than most, perhaps twice the height of a man, in black armour and a mighty crown upon his head. His eyes are also said to burn with green flame, though given the rest of his host, this will not give much assistance"
The lookout nods once and speaks an affirmation as the High King turns, he had to get off this blasted balloon and on to firmer ground before he welcomed the Reiks reinforcements. Two thousand men wouldn't go especially far to cover this week's losses but the promises of further weekly bolstering was worthy news indeed. Especially in light of Nagash's actions.

[ ] Harrass the dread army
Nagash has sent forth a vast force of Zharr armed and armoured soldiery, surely with the intention to make good the losses he has suffered in the past weeks. See if some of this surely irreplaceable army can be diminished before it crashes against the gates of the Karak.
[ ] What forces do you send on this battle? (Max 50000)
There are other activities one can perform in a warzone like this, ways to strengthen your position and weaken others.
[ ] Fortify a Front
You brought with you an abundance of powder, shot, metal, and stone with which you can use to fortify your gains and stop any bleeding that will come from the enemy's continual assaults in this area.
[ ] Choose a frontline to fortify (Costs 1 supply) (May be done up to 3 times on any particular front)- only a single layer may be applied at a time
[ ] Destroy a Tunnel
From the tunnels of the enemy pour forth a host of vermin, all with the unified intent to take for themselves the ancient hold of our kingdom. Smash their tunnels and, at least for a time, find some relief from their relentless assaults.
[ ] Choose a tunnel (a red line) to collapse (Costs 1 supply)
[ ] Excavate a Tunnel
You are the Dawi. You were born among the mountains, and every one of your host has spent at the very least two full years in the mines—and for the vast majority, many more. Take up your pick and your blasting powder and clear a path through the rock.
[ ] Which two neighboring tunnels (within the mines themselves) do you wish to connect, creating a new red line between them and their exit (Costs 1 supply) (At least one point must be owned by you)
[ ] Remove fortification
Sometimes fronts move and change requiring a re-allocation of materials, dismatle your fortifications to regain most of what was spent
(80% changce to regain a point of supply)
[ ] Which fortifications will you remove (can do one layer at a time)
[ ] Withdraw from the Karak
While shameful, tens of thousands of Dawi have now died in the pursuit of our ancient hold, blood which the toil of even a reclaimed and secure Drazh would take centuries to make worthwhile again. Withdraw your throngs and return to your safer holds.
Well now, that is a very impressive enemy army coming our way, though from what Lonkas has indicated, this is the entirety of Nagash's reserves of "elite" (so, Wight/Grave/Tomb Guard level) troops. If we can prevent this incoming attack from making headway, then Nagash is officially spent. It would likely be a big blow to him strategically even, since it actually takes effort to create Wights, not to mention all the actual quality equipment that goes into them.

Hmm, is there a way that we could indicate that we want to do this only after the frontal assault has secured the tombs? That way we don't have to risk the trap, but could use it as a way to commit fresh forces as a 2nd wave.
-----
So, thoughts for this turn: We want to finish off the Royal Quarter Orcs to close up that frontage. We can also fairly reliably consider pushing down the Mines. Norms established last turn indicate that the Goblins are greatly outmatched and we can get favorable engagements even with fairly poor dice rolls. That makes them decent places to send some of our less extremel quality human troops like the Ratcatchers and Restless of Wulfrick. We can continue clearing up M3 while holding onto M2-3 to cut off the majority of Night Goblin routes to the Thunderdome.

A rather rough draft of a plan I expect a lot of changes will need to be made to, but decided to pump it out anyway, since I need to go to bed soon and might as well give folks a starting frame.
So the big thing here is that I'm reluctant to risk a gamble on pushing up the rear and into the Greenskin trap again. Even if there's a much bigger chance of success this time, the trap triggering can wipe out a big portion of the force, and we need to insulate our elite forces. Regardless, we do want to reduce the frontage in the Royal Quarter, so I'm trying to quality-max its army and pushing it through the Waystone and Ancestral Tombs. I don't think we can afford to split three ways though, and I want to avoid any risk to Glorin because we're going to need him when the big Nagashite hammer lands. Instead we can probably reserve some of our other, less useful troops that we don't want to use for fighting Nagash to mop up the last of the Royal Quarter next turn.
Meanwhile, we push through the mines to secure the rest of Mine 3 (save the bit that connects to the Thunderdome), which reduces our overall frontage, and from what we've been able to determine, clearing out Goblins from the mines is fairly low-intensity.
One thing I'm uneasy about is the Throng of Vengeance in the Mines. It's there both to provide an elite force in case of unexpected resistance and to insulate them from casualties (as the mine-clearing is rather low-casualty.) But there's good arguments for either putting them in the Royal Quarter clearing as well to truly qualitymax and ensure it's down to a single sector, or for keeping them on defensive reserve entirely, especially since this plan would leave a sector of the Royal Quarter uncleared.
Not deploying our hypothetical final set of Supplies if both Remove Fortifications beat their DC because if they do both beat their DC, there's an argument for planting it at the gates to max out their fortification level. Hedge our bets in case Nagash breaches our first line of defense.
It would likely be a big blow to him strategically even, since it actually takes effort to create Wights, not to mention all the actual quality equipment that goes into them
The other consideration is that Nagash can't really make new Wights easily. They require the corpse of a human hero who had the right magic performed on them soon after death to willingly bind their complete soul to their body.
There's only a limited number of barrows raised by cultures using Nehekharan derived funerary magic out there to raid for raw material.
Making wights from scratch is presumably possible, but presumably takes much more work by necromancers to bind unwilling souls to fresh corpses. And Nagash may not have that many subordinate necromancies available to do that.
The longer this fight drags on the more I wished we got that Temple taken asap.
We would have still had to clear it out by force even if we captured the royal quarters first. Now more than ever with Nagash on our door step we need that force multiplier.
Can you extend the moratorium? You tend to post when people with normal day jobs in the EST time zone are asleep, and they won't get a chance to check out the update until, at a minimum, they sit down in their work chair for the first time. So, a moratorium as short as nine hours doesn't do much in such situations.
So I am very tempted to send troops to soften the doomstack, but I worry about Nagash being there incognito (as hinted by the update) and the whole thing ending in a contribution of corpses to his war effort.
Well the last two turns have sucked, and next turn is going to suck even harder when Nagash attacks us with two hundred thousand elites. With that in mind, I'm going to suggest we don't sally to attack Nagash's gathering army, as if we do so we're going to be assaulting the fortified position he established last turn which will only serve to worsen the losses we take by the end of next turn not improve upon them.
Instead, I would suggest we finish up with the top floor this turn to shrink the massive front we have up there, finish up the mines, which have shown to be a massive pushover, and prepare as much as we can for the coming assault by fortifying the relevant fronts. This way, we'll have the minimum possible fronts to defend when Nagash comes and retain all our elite charges as well.
This should allow us to finish the campaign next turn after repulsing only one attack from Nagash, minimizing our casualties as we'll only need to clear out the thunderdome. Which should be possible if we conduct a fighting retreat against Nagash by slowly ceding the ramp well holding the gate using one hundred thousand to one hundred fifty thousand troops, plus a destroyer charge, dragon charge, and having Glorin directly command the battle well, our remaining one hundred fifty thousand soldiers, plus a destroyer charge, seize the thunderdome from the goblins.
