[] Plan Invisible Nuke

I don't mind this plan, but do you think it'd be better to use Probing Strike instead of Black Scratch? It might not come up at all, but I'd rather keep Black Scratch in the back pocket. People will definitely take note of it if we use it. Probing Strike explicitly looks like an Ordinary attack, so it shouldn't draw too much attention from our competitors and should be enough to finish off our opponent if they still are still standing after GKB. It could also end up useful if things don't go according to plan and we need to draw out some Openings.

[X] Plan to Send a Message
-[X] Stance: Vanguard's Prayer (5/turn), Innocuous Blows (2/turn), Uneven Ground, Strandsense, Superlative Counter, Francisca Toss, Probing Strike, Giant-Killing Blow, Clever Deflection, Slip Free, Black Scratch
-[X] Expenditures: Potential Defensive Finale (19 Zeal), 7 Fervour/turn on passives, 11/11 Capacity
-[X] Tactics: Play into the opponents expectations. Open up with Francesca Toss to take out his shield, and if he pulls out another one retrieve the Francesca and repeat until he runs out of shields. Defend against the Saix being tossed and called back at odd angles. Prepare slip free and the stone ring in the event of a grapple. Use Innocuous Blows and Probing Strike to feign weakness to Audrey's strikes while relying on her social chops to play up the act and feed into the opponents arrogance, then when an opening presents itself GKB Plus Sunder Plus Force Ring effect to OHKO him if possible. Failing that, do it again just to fuck with him, but this time include Uneven Ground and Black Scratch to ruin his ability to position or defend himself and finish him off. With Superlative Counter in reserve if needed

This ones pretty straightforward. We know what the guys expecting. Audrey is going to feel insulted. And playing him for a fool in Public is going to make a spectacle of things and remind everyone of who was the third person to try and kill Ironjaw when prompted

This way we keep Audrey's truly critical kit in reserve unless he survives the boosted GKB. There's no need to take the fight out of the center of the arena. Just poopoo the Probing Strikes and then OHKO him after the defensive debuffs from it Come into play. If he survives, he'll have earned some respect

But disrespect? No, that ought to be punished ohohoho

edit: on clarification about shield risk, removed PTW and input Black Scratch instead should the bait and switch not manage to completely put him down

I would slot Probing Strike if I had one more Capacity to play with, but I don't, so I've gone with Black Scratch as the fall-back plan, in my head at least, is more for if he dodges/blocks the GKB compared to him being left on like 20hp and 80 armour hp, so having the fall-back plan be able to fairly quickly kill him is more important than hiding some of our kit. Plus, killing him fast is important so that he can't swivel to actually giving a shit about the fight.

He can still regen with his Aspects and would have a mostly full tank after the big hit would still force him to spend big on defence to avoid another hit.

[X] Plan Invisible Nuke with Ring
-[X] Stance: Vanguard's Prayer (5/turn), Innocuous Blows (2/turn), Perfect Footing, Strandsense, Superlative Counter, Francisca Toss, Black Scratch, Giant-Killing Blow, Clever Deflection, Slip Free, Bouncing Leap
-[X] Expenditures: Potential Defensive Finale (19 Zeal), 7 Fervour/turn on passives, 11/11 Capacity
-[X] Tactics: Don't immediately activate Innocuous Blows. Toss our Francisca at him to break his shield, then use Bouncing Leap (and the boots of speed if they meaningfully help with launching ourself) to close the distance and hit him with a GKB, temporarily activating Innocuous Blows to make the GKB look like a Basic Attack. Use Sunder's ability + Ring on this attack. If the fight continues, mainly use Black Scratch to attack, with a GKB if we get a good opening. Try to keep him at a safe distance so that he can't grapple us easily, use Bouncing Leap to make space if needed, and Slip Free + Stone-Strength Ring if he lands a grapple or other pin style effect on us. If he is about to land an attack that looks extremely dangerous and we don't think we can dodge/block it, or we fail to Slip Free from a grapple, Crowley launches a Lightning Bolt at him to stun him and knock him out of the attack, and we GKB him. In general, only use Innocuous Blows to hide GKBs. Use Superlative Counter if he Finales us.

Wanted the extra 20 damage to ensure he is down. Worried he might have some defensive item like Audrey, and if he does not go down he is absolutely going to go Nova on Audrey.

The Ojou-sama laugh sold it for me. I can't resist taking an opportunity to make a mockery of someone who thinks they are in for an easy win.

[X] Plan Invisible Nuke

We already do 260 damage with GKB+Sunder, I'd rather save the rings for defense for a later opponent

Assuming he is in Mail + Mail-Necked Helm, he has 130 armour hp. Then even if he has 10 Body stat, thats only another 100hp. Crowley doesn't spot any neat tresures on him, so he shouldn't have oneshot protections. GKB does 230 dmg, which should put him in the ground, and then the Sunder boost does another minimum of 30, which scales on how scary and to a lesser extent big the enemy is. This guy is the better part of twice our height. Sunder's boost should be fairly solid, so he should die instantly, the 20 dmg from the ring shouldnt be enough to make a difference if he does have the hp boosters to talk the full sunder boost.

Okay this plan has the Force Ring usage paired Sunder plus a Force Ring usage as the update notes ending this fight with a decisive blow while Audrey is being underestimated is important for a solid W here and God willing her next foe will make the mistake of assuming that Audrey is a rich Ojou-sama who made it through the next round due to her magic items.

Also, for people on the fence, I think that immediately trying to obliterate this man is more likely to improve our view in the eyes of Bram "hit me as Hard as you can" Ironjaw compared to plinking back and forth/playing with our food a bit before deleting the guy

Isn't attempting to kill your opponent against the rules?
Because there is a bit of confusion, here are the rules of the North Sea Tournament (which is held in Bornholm, an island very much not in the North Sea, because when Ironjaw wants something, you don't say no)

North Sea Tournament Rules:
-Rounds end by submission, knockout, or otherwise ensuring your opponent cannot continue.
-While you should not aim to kill your opponent, accidental death is acceptable
-In the case of a tie, depending on the circumstances, either mutual disqualification or a second round is scheduled at a later time.
-Contestants may be disqualified at any time, for any reason, at the behest of the tournament's host, Bram Ironjaw.

Note: You are allowed to bring your Companions. There aren't any rules against it, after all.
Also Note: These rules are the only rules.
I believe we have a fair case in thinking "its not our fault if our attack takes the enemy from full to dead, and it wasn't even a Finale". Plus the guy has a solid chance of being able to get resurected.

So what? He's not one of the competitors. And teaching a lesson in hubris is a fucking funny story

To put it another way

Invisible Nukes primary failure point isn't using Black scratch. It's assuming the guy doesn't have more than one shield.

As a norseman, presumably with that hammer space, on a crafters island, bedecked in high quality but not amazing equipment

He's totally gonna have more than one shield
