A taunt prayer that is basically Beacon of Radiance but as a prayer. I am not sure if the "Light Mediation to put the user in a better light" from most of the current plans is effective as this or not.

The one being discussed is a non-combat social boost. A combat tanking Prayer would be separate, though entirely viable. You can sorta get both as one thing in Beacon of Radiance, but not as a Prayer.

A prayer to boost the presence of whatever we are looking for. We could use this in a variety of non-combat related situations, like scouting by making it harder to hide from us, or as @DeadmanwalkingXI gave as an example finding what we are looking for when researching something in a library.

This isn't really available for Light. Light doesn't really find things for you...you can get a Light Prayer to highlight things, but you need to target the specific thing in question, which you can't do if you're searching for it. A Scholarship Meditation for research boosts is viable, though.

We really need to only get non combat stuff next turn.

Alright everyone i took some time to think up some rotes meditations and prayers we could use that dont involve combat
if an idea has 3 checkmarks after it that means someone else came up with it and im just putting it in the thread. question marks mean im not sure its the right type ie rote meditation or prayer.
scouting
enhanced senses rote to 1 sense

light/diplomacy
hiding personality/motives prayer
Light cant lie and emphasises other parts to mislead diplomacy lies but is weaker from what i understand.
insight
check magic items for traps safely Rote
touching wards without activating them Meditation?
combo with severence rote to find and cut weak spots?
Severence
severance rote to cut through wards kind of like the rote that was discussed to cut through walls to sneak into fortresses but for magical walls basically.

Horsemanship
faster travel speed meditation

Scholarship
enhanced memory Prayer!!!
speed reading Rote!!!
boosting others training Prayer
Administration
hiding messages within messages by moving words around Rote!!!
reading between the lines to what people are actually saying in a letter. Rote!!!
reading reports instantly Rote!!!
Error checker for paperwork Meditation
economic trends reading Rote?
what resources are needed here reading Rote?

There are also Meditations for these. The difference is time, a Meditation to enhance hearing just gives you better hearing (great for eavesdropping), a Rote would be what you use to jack up the sense hugely but only for a moment.

Light would be limited to decreasing or increasing traits you actually have but be stronger, yeah. Diplomacy could give whatever info you wanted, but not be as strong.

Important note: Outside combat you can do almost all of these with Insight and Precision alone, no Prayers or Feats needed. That's what the Skills do at their base level: Let you perceive and manipulate magical stuff.

These are valid to do this stuff better or mid-combat, but they aren't required.

Noncombat stuff like this is basically always either a Meditation, or just a Prayer. Basically, Rote is the term for 'instant Prayer that can be used as a combat action' (which the 'enhance senses' Rotes could).

All of these are potentially valid options in some form, though.

--[X] Spend 3 Training on a "Is this guy likely to beat me at wrestling" Tactics prayer to Rough

For the record, this is mostly only useful if you're a pretty good wrestler. If you're bad at wrestling, this will always return a 'they're better' response, which you should know anyway since you're bad at wrestling. It won't be very useful to Audrey in the longer term unless she polishes her wrestling a fair bit from where it's at now.

Would a route that 'senses false hoods' work in and outside of combat?

like false hood is very vague and could be used for illusions, and fake outs, lies in conversations.

Audrey doesn't have anything that would allow that, I don't think. She can see through illusions with something like Hard-Fall and detect lies with Diplomacy, but I don't think there's anything she has that would readily contain a Meditation that includes both.

[X][BLESSING] Dragonslayer: You have faced the Dragon in your heart and driven it to flight--mere external threats are nothing compared to that. Has a similar effect to Litany of Resolve, but requires no Capacity or Fervour to maintain. Does stack with Litany of Resolve, making you virtually impervious to mental influence, though this still only has limited effect against reasonable suggestions.

Ok, ye I'll change it out. Does Reinald think getting a minor sense boost meditation or a flash of [sense] boost would be better for us right now. also, do we need to get a seperate flash of [sense] rote for each one (sight/hearing/smelling) or can we just get a single rote that buffs whichever one we want when we use it.

It'd be one per sense, mostly. Barring Smell including Taste, which it probably would. And if you're going for out-of-combat utility a Meditation is probably better.

How about Hearing, since visual illusions seem fairly common? (Touch would be nice, but probably doesn't fit the intended purpose)

Ah ok, changed it to a hearing boost one as Crowley probably has better sight even if we got a meditation for it and those two are probably by far the most important senses.

For the record, Crowley's senses are all better than yours, but there are probably more situations where you want to have enhanced hearing and can't bring Crowley without him being obtrusive than there are similar situations with sight.

Sure he could go invisible, but there are probably times you don't want to risk that.

Can't decide between the plans at least yet, might update my vote later to include it.

[X][BLESSING] Mastery of the Blade: You are the Blade, and the Blade is you--extends the benefits of Knightly Armor to your readied weapon, making it capable of resisting (Though not piercing and otherwise damaging) Steel, and renders you nearly immune to being disarmed or your weapon broken.

I still feel that getting Tactics to 5 is a waste and we would be better off spending that zeal elsewhere or holding on to it for finales, but I like the social meditations from Tournament Prep a lot more than the tactics meditations which are both stuff that our absurdly high tactics is going to be feeding us anyway.

I am voting this entirely because of Administration 4, and if possible I would like Audrey to have Administration 5 by the time she gets her Fief. Show people that, no, she really can do more than just smash faces, even if that's what she's best at.

Granted, I imagine we will have other very tantalizing things to spend our Zeal and Training on in the near future (Tabernacle 3- or Bust), so I'm not sure if we're gonna manage that.

People are sleeping on Beacon because we can probably spend training on a meditation to do it instead while wanting Dragonslayer when we already have a meditation for that and it has no fervor cost.
