You were not the reason she came to this land, but you still wanted to help her.
Thanks to @Armoury for the beta!

You stare at the Cheshire for a short while, watching as she adjusts glasses, does measurements, and says nothing. It's just her now, all the duplicates are gone, and the room felt strangely empty without their presence, despite how disconcerting they were. And you
would admit you found them rather disconcerting. You thought you were beyond base illusion, but it seems that Miki had figured you out rather quickly in that regard. But… that also wasn't important, what was important was the woman a few feet away from you, the woman who had apparently stumbled upon some form of worry.
… And you would help if you were able. "Miki, talk to me."
"About Zipangu?"
"No, about who you 'truly' are."
She stills, then speaks in a quiet voice, a wavering, uncertain voice so close to the edge of your hearing that you almost think she never spoke at all. "I said to forget that." She doesn't turn, in fact, she stops moving entirely. The smell of something burning wafts by your nose, similar to tobacco in how pungent it is, but with the additional scent of unfamiliar flowers. It was amusing, in a way, they each had scents of their own, perhaps it was tied into the pheromones that Brynhild mentioned. Ignis smelled of ash and sweat, but not an acrid odor, it was oddly pleasant to the senses. Isabella smelt of ancient wood, not rotten, but proud. And Miki? Miki smelled like strange plants, alien, tantalizing. Perhaps dangerous, but intriguing.
You turn your head back towards the ceiling, "I'm here to help Miki, whomever I can, however I can. If something is bothering you, I would simply ask you to speak to me."
Miki says nothing, but you hear the clink of glasses.
You let out a long and slow breath, thinking for a moment, then you smile. "I propose a trade."
"A
trade?" Miki says curtly.
"There are stories I've never told anyone before," you say. "Story for a story, secret for a secret. Not even Fuyao knows about this one."
The sound of clinking glass stops, and you smile a touch wider. "When I was a younger man, long before I had even died the first time… oh about seventeen I believe. I was part of an adventuring group outside the city…" You think for a moment, having to recall. "Overlook, yes. The dwarven city of Overlook. This was my first group, and we went on quite a few adventures together, slaying rats, chasing out spiders, dealing with goblins. Oh the works. There were quite a few of us as well, though the party dwindled over time. A sorcerer, a paladin, a druid, a ranger and myself."
"Druid?" Miki asks.
"It is a person who is in tune with nature, they protect and shepard it from hostile influences, and in return gain its power. They can speak to creatures and plants, but can perform far greater feats such as conjuring mighty storms or rending the earth asunder. But they tend to be rather… odd folk. Regardless, this tale is about the Paladin, the other one, not myself."
You hear the shuffling of feet but don't turn your head. "Her name was, well, I've already spoken her name once and I fear if I do so again I'll attract her attention. But she was a Selunite." You turn your head now that you've said that, to see Miki standing by the edge of the bed, staring down at you with pure curiosity on her face. "They worship the elven goddess of the moon. I myself am what is known as a Paladin of the Crown. We maintain law and order, we fight against chaos. I hold no allegiance to any specific king, but I try to keep things from getting… too insane." You wave your hand a little, the pain receding… now it was actually rather tingly.
"It's working out well, as you can see," you say, smiling up at the Cheshire.
Miki smiles back, her tail swinging behind her slowly.
"She was what was known as a Redemption Paladin, she believed that people that were in the wrong, people that had sinned, they could be, well. Redeemed. They could turn themselves around, they could find the light… or law… or really anything
besides evil was good enough for her.
"And she tried, she did dearly try, it didn't work on the spiders of course, or the undead. But the goblins she made a valiant attempt, then the vampire we ran into, then the mad illusionist and the orcs. She tried and tried and tried. Until, one day we were traipsing through some mountains to find a dwarven temple that had come under siege. We found it… after narrowly dodging a hippogriff."
A look from Miki.
"Don't have those in your realm?"
"Not that I'm aware of." Miki replies, then she slowly lowers herself so that her arms are resting upon the bed and her head is resting upon her arms. Her tail moved faster behind her. A lust for knowledge this woman had in abundance rearing its head.
"Half-eagle, half-horse. Roughly the size of a well… large horse. Predator animals, no real intelligence to them, but nasty. In any case, we found the temple, and it was, indeed, besieged by orcs. And not the type that kidnaps men." You pause there, thinking for a moment. "Not the type that kidnaps men to find husbands." You are correct. "It was a gargantuan structure, well fortified and set within a mountain valley made up of fierce jagged rocks and secrets not even I could begin to fathom today. We were outnumbered, our weapons were inferior, and we were on a strict limit of time.
"Regardless, we fight our way inside, and we have to
cut our way in, it's brutal fighting. The other Paladin is doing her best to try and salvage the situation. She of course believes that evil has to be put down, but still she has to
try. She's tried this dozens of times now, and she tries again to one of the last orcs standing. To make him see the evil of his ways, make him realize he doesn't have to do this. And he." You stop, and simply smile at Miki.
"He?" Miki asks eagerly.
"It's your turn now I believe."
The tail droops behind her back, and her mouth pulls back around her teeth to reveal pointed fangs. "But what about the orc?"
"What indeed," you reply. "A mystery to be certain, much like what is bothering you."
"Tell me." Miki demands.
"Tell
me." You reply.
Miki stares at you, her tail stills. "You
can't just tell a story and stop just before the end."
"And you can't state that something is wrong but back out of letting me help you."
Miki's eyes narrow, "and if it's none of your business?"
"If it's genuinely something you
don't want me to know about, then don't tell me. But…" you look towards the ceiling again. "I'm no Paladin of Redemption, I don't pretend to know what is in everyone's heart. As has been discovered apparently recently, I'm actually rather
bad with people. I'm handsome, but not particularly charismatic. So forgive me when it seemed, to me, that there was something you wanted to tell me but backed away from at the last moment."
Miki stares at you for several moments, saying nothing, she hardly moves. Then, she straightens herself up beside the bed, her hands pressed firmly against her sides. "I… spoke to you… or, rather. I told you my family spent a fortune for me to become a scholar."
"You did, yes."
"I was being groomed to work in the Imperial Court, a
fine position, one that paid well and would have easily lifted my family out of poverty if I obtained it. Unfortunately… I failed in my exams, so I became the village doctor instead."
You say nothing, watching as she moves her hands to her front, wringing them together. "I was ashamed of that, but I did good work regardless and helped lift my family out of poverty. My skills were such that people came from all over to seek my services, moreso once the changes began."
"Alright," you say quietly. "What's the catch?"
"Women don't become scholars, much less doctors in my country. It just isn't done." Miki says, her voice barely above a whisper. "I hardly noticed the change, not before it was too late, even if I had wanted to change it I couldn't. I
like being a Cheshire, it gives me access to things I never had before, and I could help more people, and have… even if we had some… disagreements." She smiles at you, a bit awkwardly. "It took a while for that bump on my head to heal from Fuyao. But… well, as I said. Women don't become scholars."
"And yet you did."
"... Yes." Miki says. Then, without saying anything else, she gently moves her hands to the front of her dress and pulls it up, revealing… Well, for starters she didn't wear underwear. Something you frankly expected given how much she liked to flash the underside of her ass at you. The second was… a penis, no different than your own, complete with a pair of testicles.
"You're a man?" you ask, curious.
Miki nods, turning her head away from you.
"I thought 'corruption' only affected females."
Miki nods her head. "It… does, I… I don't know if it was the chemicals I worked with, I don't know if it's part of being a cheshire but… I'm…"
The bottom of the dress falls again, and Miki turns her head, almost hesitant to look at you. "I'm… the only one like this that I know of, and it… messes with my head at times. My mind is still filled with so much knowledge and information, but… also a desire for… other… things." She was rather more nervous than you had ever seen… him?
"Should I refer to you as a man or woman?"
"... What?" Miki asks, blinking stupidly.
"Do you see yourself as a man, or a woman?"
"Woman." Miki replies, sounding rather dumbfounded by the question.
"Alright. Is that all?" you ask.
"What do you mean
is that all?"
You push yourself up a bit more, ignoring the pain as you do so. "Miki, I won't pretend to understand how your world works despite my questions. I likely never will, the cultures are too different." Your eyes flit down to the edge of her skirt. "That's to say even less about the changes that happen to people. But… you don't regret turning into a Cheshire, correct?"
"No?"
"Then… why would I care what you used to be?"
"I'm the only one
like this." Miki counters.
"I… fail to see why that matters. So you're special, aren't you supposed to be? Being the 'best alchemist in Zipangu'?"
"I can't believe this isn't bothering you." Miki replies.
"Miki, to be completely honest. When you said you were hiding something, I was genuinely terrified that you had either, a: killed someone. Or b; you were secretly behind this whole mess to begin with. You having been formerly a man is so far down the list of my concerns… frankly, I'm not concerned about it at all, it's not something I could reasonably ever be concerned
about. What matters is who you are and if you are happy to be that, what resides between your legs has little to do with it." You then smile. "Besides, you are beautiful regardless, and I will protect you from whatever dangers come your way."
Miki's face turns luminescent, a fierce blush across it. "I…" Then her eyes widen as a faint whistle sounds out, she turns on the spot, disappearing for a moment as she teleports to the desk of potions. "The dragon salve!"
Four more of her appear out of the ether, rapidly working together… and partially at odds, sorting things out, pouring glasses, mixing ingredients, and working with a fury. You smile, watching her go.
She was a fine alchemist indeed.
—
You lower the potion from your lips, feeling the thick sludge travel down your throat. It wasn't pleasant, far from it. But you also knew from experience that the more unpleasant the potion, the grander its effects.
"Are… you truly certain it doesn't bother you?" Miki asks, sounding frankly rather unsure of herself.
"The potion is disgusting, but I trust that you do good work." You reply, setting it down on the table beside you.
"I meant
myself." Miki says, her voice nearly a hiss.
"Why would it?" you reply, it was… different, for sure, but not unheard of. Such a thing was rather, while not commonplace, it could be found along the Sword Coast for certain. "I would ask if you wished to remain as such simply. Not that there's anything wrong with remaining as you are, merely that I know people who could continue the process if you so wish."
Miki stares at you for a few moments, her tail swishing this way and that. "I can change at a whim, it's in my nature…" She then steps forward, closer to the bed. Her fingers dip down, her long, pointed nails tapping against my flesh. "Just like my… Other half demands I be lascivious and lewd." Her tail swishes this way and that, her dress dips, revealing heavy breasts tipped by dark brown nipples as she leans further, and further. "It demands I remove the more… educated parts of my brain, become something more primal, more… primitive." She leans closer, her breath heavy, her body… remarkably distracting.
You don't move, merely staring at her.
Then… she plants her lips against your forehead, pulls back, and smiles. "Thank you Baeran, you've been very kind to me."
You smile back, "You're very worth it Miki."
"But what happened to the Orc?"
You blink, trying to recall where you had left off. "Oh, yes. It worked actually. She managed to convince it to lay down its arms and flee. But within that… roughly six second timespan, the Ranger, not knowing what had happened, loosed an arrow into the back of the Orc's head. The Paladin was… perturbed."
"I-" Miki begins, a cracked smile on her face.
The door opens with a crash, and you see Ignis poking her head through. "Fucking
finally! Why were ya hidin'!?" then she rears back and bodily tosses someone into the room. "Found someone for ya!" the figure on the floor groans, but you are more instead distracted by the look of confusion settling onto Ignis's face as she stares at you. She raises her hand slowly, pointing at her own forehead, and you match the movement, finding your fingers coming away with lipstick.
"Did… she kiss you on the forehead?" Ignis asks quietly.
"She did!?" a second, noble yet excited voice calls out, and you watch as Brynhild's head pokes around the bulk that is Ignis. "Oh my! How scandalously lewd!"
…
Ignoring that. You turn instead to look at the figure on the floor, it's-

I've been keeping that little secret hidden for two years. Now, onto the vote!
[] [A very unconscious, drooling snake-woman… scientist?]
Her name was Eliza, and she was quite possibly insane.
[] [A purple… woman you suppose reforming herself, she had glowing yellow eyes and a maid outfit?]
Her name was unpronounceable, but she was eager to serve regardless.
[] [A very pale woman dressed in finery, she looked rather similar to Isabella]
Oh my oh my.
[] [A Sheep? A sheep with tits.]
You… think she was speaking the Common tongue, but she sounded rather angry.
