[X] [Acquiesce - She's taking a drink]

I'm here for the premise, if you aren't willing to engage then that's fine, but I am.

That's a statement I'm happy to ignore.
Plus it' a statement that's fundamentally untrue: a centtal part of the premise is that monster girls only give birth to monstergirls, because some god said so, and she was trying to get enough power together to undo that rule. By the settings own Lore she cannot just no-sell the rules created by her own universes grand god, which is the closest thing to a comparable being to Ao she has.

[X] [Hold off]

I was originally on the fence, but the comments about us being a Paladin of Sune convinced me. While I doubt Sune would care -- she covers the catchall domain of love, after all -- Baeran has thus far appeared to value the deep connection aspect of love, specifically referring to the start of the quest. I wouldn't have an issue if we had time to court Ignis properly, but I don't believe it is in Baeran's nature to boink without a romantic connection, even if Ignis is going to have a tough time because of it.

To be clear and specific, I can't imagine Baerun "romancing" anyone when the "romance" is forced by biology. There's a big difference between hormones making someone horny and the kind of psychological effects Ignis is describing. Again, it's been stated very clearly what his standards for getting physical with someone are, and this is nowhere even close to those standards. There's really not a graceful way I can see to reconcile that.

Fair enough - but, by your standards then 99% of the romance targets in this quest will thus be non-viable. Voting to not romance Ignis - or anyone - on the basis of how their biology functions is equivalent of voting to kill the quest.

Results so far.

Beyond all the thread stuff, chapter read ok? I wasn't trying to cause any drama.

I feel like Baeran definately would be more firmly towards the former based on how he's been established so far, but I also feel like at least giving Ignis something to work with. Also, seems like something got through his noggin at the start of the scene, as the tonality of the narration is noticably different than the norm, might be a good idea to look into that to make sure that the first time Baeran encounters an MGE succubus or something he doesn't get blindsided by something he'd normally ignore.

Well, that's stating things rather strongly, isn't it? A limiting factor (a substantial one, even) to our options, sure. But there's Fuyao or past people we've helped/worked with or future people we've yet to meet--we've only just traveled to our first major city, it's pretty early to say what the romance options will be for the rest of the quest. I have no problems with waiting to find someone who actually meets his standards.

You are removing the Mamono girls from the table in a MGE quest?

No, but I would be vaguely surprised if they were the only option, which means they'd most likely be my second choice. A Mamono girl would be viable to me if they had a substantially developed relationship that existed independently, or at least mostly independently, from just the biological needs; i.e., shared sense of humor, long-term goals, moral judgement. Essentially, the elements needed to meet Baeran's criteria. And the guy is a high level paladin, I don't think he compromises his standards easily. Ignis doesn't impress me as a candidate mostly because I don't remember her ever showing any interest in forming any sort of deeper relationship, much less making any actual effort along those lines.

Of course, I'm making assumptions about how totally the romance options are or aren't focused on Mamono, and I don't know what the personalities of those women would be. I can always just abstain from romance votes if I'm not happy with the options, don't pay too much attention to me.

Hey, having an opinion is perfectly fair, and I do see where you are coming from. There's a few non mamono I have planned. But the story is focused on them. Beyond that, yes, there will be courting from Ignis and the others. But they are still influenced by their biology, and come from a universe were courting is... optional.
