The Slave Who Makes Free: An Anakin Skywalker Quest

[X] See to Iskat.

Doubling down. Also, only we know about Iskat, but Obi Wan can pilot.

[X] See to Iskat.

We're going to have plenty of apologies to give to Obi-Wan after this no matter what. Let's not give them over the dead body of our friend.

the terrible majesty of the singularity transfixes you
The Dragon from the ROTS novelization! This is some deeply concerning foreshadowing.

[X] Take the helm.
Though Obi Wan is a more than competent pilot by the time of the clone wars, I don't think we really know how well he can fly right now. If the ship goes down, everyone dies. Iskat will have to trust in the force for her safety, just as we will.

…in a barely-stable orbit around a black hole.

Charza breezes through the docking sequence as though xe's done this a thousand times before, but the terrible majesty of the singularity transfixes you. You knew, of course, that stars could die. But studying stellar life cycles in a Temple classroom could not prepare you for this. You stare out at it and know that what was once a blaze of energy—a foundry of the very elements of the universe—has cast off its light, transforming itself into nothing but infinite emptiness, crowned by the last remnants of the solar fire it devours.
Wow Anakin could not be more unlike me here if he tried. Seriously black holes are some of the liveliest things in the universe, the best source of energy, and quite possibly the longest lived if protons decay. I see a black hole and I see life.

[X] Take the helm.

If Iskat is borderline-comatose, we do our best to protect everyone (including our new friend the worm) and that includes Iskat who we can check on once we're out of immediate danger. It's not like we have the resources to Do Something if Iskat is in trouble.

As they say in emergency medicine, they're not dead until they're warm and dead.

[X] See to Iskat

We voted to not tell anyone about her. She's Our responsibility. We have to live with that.

[X] See to Iskat

Iskat knew what she was getting into and Anakin encouraged her... but could he live with himself if he just left her to potentially die? Bleeding out, exposed to space, drowning in shallow water - none of them are great ways to go.

Obi-wan can pilot the ship passably if not excellently, we're the only ones who can help her now. And I think Anakin is more willing to countenance a jeopardized mission over his friends blood on his hands.

I say we double down on prioritizing our friends and go make sure she's not dying.

(And with metaknowledge, I don't think this is a choice where pretending Iskat isn't there will result in everything working out. There are more than enough red flags being thrown around)

If she's exposed to space, she'll be dead by the time we reach her. As for drowning or bleeding out, she's currently practically not breathing and her heart is barely beating, meaning it will take her quite a while to die. Anakin should take the helm and make this end swiftly, then check on Iskat afterwards.
