It Belongs to a Museum

Voting is open
A museum needs (willing?) visitors and ours is supposed to glorify Lutr, so I'm voting for the option that might attract asur tourists and those that have historic significance to Luthor (his first ship) or can be contextualise his genius (wet gunpowder).

Same.

I don't think we are a tempter. We just happily teach eager students. I think this is what we most want. We have no interest in being the power behind the throne, or preying on a poor woman's grief. We want to display knowledge to the world, and maybe get in touch with other academics for more stimulating conversation and other possible students.
Prestige makes clear what we're actually looking to do. It might give us an in to getting some elven pieces to put on display. Grief seems a bit out of character, coming on too hard, and probably something that a liche priest is a little leery of promising after what happened the last time.
I just wanna curate for Ptra's sake.
So I'm thinking, Prestige is the best option for actually letting us curate, and opening up avenues that will let us potentially do more curating.

Yeah. I know jumping straight to "how about conquering death" is funny, but that's more a thing for after getting to know the princess better.

Be as honest about what we're really here for (museum exhibits) as we feasibly can. Honesty is the best policy! We've been very honest about a lot of things to a lot of clever younger people, and that's what's not worked for us and is our advice!

Tales of ancient Nehekhara and what exactly the Liche Priests accomplished will come up naturally - Nehekhara is part of Luther Harkon's backstory, and hyping Luther Harkon is part of the museum's goal. From there, she can draw her own conclusions about exactly what we are and what we can offer.

Grief strikes me as not at all advancing our current cause- to acquire and develop sources of museum exhibits.

"I am one who has conquered death."
Give this answer to broach the topic of her recently-deceased husband, who perished tragically young and so far from home. You have the knowledge to build a tomb to safeguard and nurture his spirit instead of hoping for the mercies of far-away Elven Gods, and once that spirit is secure, so close and yet so far away, the temptation of a truer reunification can be dangled in front of her.

We can fix her make her worse.

But...maybe not yet. Nevermind.

We're going to clone of theseus that ship.
It's hilarious and awesome, exactly the kind of logic i would expect of our wise and foresighted character.

"Of course this is the original ship! These planks are the very floorboards Harkon strode on! That wheel is the same one that he used to navigate through the fiercest of storms! That bloodstain is where he shot a Tilean philosopher who asked too many stupid questions!"

We gotta ease her into it. Grief is a strong emotion, but it is an easier one to succumb to with someone you can trust first. And what better way to be trusted than to share secrets?

(There are better ways. But this is the funniest.)

No. The best time to offer her necromancy was when she held her husband's corpse in her arms. The second best time is now. Waiting will give her grief time to fade, her heart time to heal, and her husband's spirit time to move on into whatever afterlife awaits him. Trying to take advantage of all of that will be harder and will have lesser results than doing so right now.

The ships sound like a great center piece for an exhibit, honestly. There's varieties of ships within a faction and then differences between factions. Maritime Museums either built on ships or around ships are fantastic and we've got the harbour space afforded by the island to put a few of those to shore or dock for that purpose. I think it'd be pretty cool to highlight differences between Bretonnian, Estalian, and Imperial ships, or show case druuchi vs high elf shipbuilding. Each ship itself is like a mini-museum that allows you to talk about equipment, weapons, operations, sailors, etc. Given that a majority of visitors are expected to be undead sailors or living sailors, then something showcasing ships would be a huge selling point.

The original longboat itself is a great piece too. It is kind of wild that those Norsca stealing Luthor's coffin accidentally set into motion a series of events that resulted in vampirates haunting the oceans for thousands of years. It's honestly kind of incredible. Those poor fools. Generations of sailors washed up on Lustria's shores turned into zombies, and ultimately creating this massive problem for the entire world. That's history even non-vampires would probably find interesting.

Lizard trinkets are neat. I agree that they're local and should be interesting to people. It's also fitting for a museum that our first major exhibit is a bunch of artifacts we stole from the local natives. We've got way less context for their tools, clothing, decorations, etc. so in true antiquarian fashion we speculate and make shit up. Do we know anything about skink artisans? No, so obviously we're gonna make shit up about how skinks are clearly an enslaved race serving the saurus warriors, and that kroxigars are monsters they've tamed. Slann don't fit into this because we probably don't know about them. :V

Plus it'd be neat to see Boney write about lizardman artifacts. I have no doubt Boney will take inspiration from actual Mesoamerican cultures and that'll be cool.

For motivation, we're running a museum. I want to network with elf nerds! Imagine the shit someone 800+ years old can collect! That's the golden fucking goose, if I've ever heard one. Imagine interviewing a retired elven sailor that's centuries old, or rather, I guess, an elven antiquarian who interviewed sailors about far away places and bought a lot of cool stuff on their own travels or someone else's. Elves have circumnavigated the globe and have trade networks as far as Cathay that put Tilea to shame. There's so much stuff we could learn and buy.

This could form the centerpiece of an exhibit relating to the Vampire Coast, Norsca, or Piracy.
With forward planning we could branch dedicated wings off of it to appeal to all of those interests and more. Possibly with a tentacles of the kraken motif as they wind their way around the island to the inevitable themed gift shops.

Man, I can't believe Grief is third.

We picked neckromancy, we picked a tutor who wants to "halp" and doesn't think things though, the body is arguably better off under our cares rather tthan as prey to be snatched by whatever sea god, I say we commit to our choices.

... no actual opinion on the museum first piece.

Fair, I think for me part of the hesitation is having seen too many recordings of TV 'psychics' playing on people's grief like that, but the difference here is we have actual (dubious) magic and we really can converse with the dead. Grief it is.
