It Belongs to a Museum

Let's suppose that we have five possible kinds of exhibit: Art, History, Science, Zoological and Other. We're looking for an all-arounder early on, so let's rate each candidate in all five categories. Here, one star means no special bonus and three stars means they're exceptionally good in that area.

The Tide of Skjold
1/3 Art. Can get us Chaos art, but that's pretty niche.
2/3 History. Many of them are historical! And they know about Norsca.
0/3 Science. None of them are modern. They stand out like a sore thumb.
3/3 Beasts. Their main attraction. Lots of wild Chaos Beast corpses.
2/3 Other. The religious angle is maybe worth an exhibit on its own.
Aside from the distinct lack of Science, this is a pretty good pick.

Lamprey
1/3 Art. Unfortunately, song is hard to exhibit. Could get us some stuff.
2/3 History. It's be Bretonnian and Elf-focused, but that's a great start.
1/3 Science. Ulthuan artifacts are kinda sorta scientific. But not really.
1/3 Beasts. A cavalry through the ages exhibit kinda counts here. Maybe.
0/3 Other. No special pickups here, as far as I can tell.
The main draw here, IMO, is that she has lots of upward potential.

The Salt Lord
2/3 Art. Flying pirates can steal so many paintings.
2/3 History. Flying pirates can steal so many artifacts.
1/3 Science. Prototypes are probably pretty heavy, actually.
2/3 Vampire bat exhibit! Minus one point for eating other animals.
1/3 Other. The mysterious cursed Estalian castle-port sounds fun.
Besides being solid all around, think of the recruitment potential!

Princess Aelsabrim Fallenstar
3/3 Art. One of our best sources for fine elvish artwork.
2/3 History. She can't ID it for us, but she can afford it.
2/3 Science. If cultivated, she can get us access. If cultivated.
3/3 Beasts. Beast trade authority and the Merwyrm. Very good.
1/3 Other. Tiranoc. All we need is some divers to dredge it up.
On paper, she looks fantastic. But I suspect she's going to be expensive.

Harbourmaster Tenebrel Reefwalker
2/3 Art. Our other good source for fine elvish artwork.
3/3 History. Asur militaria at first, then other wonders later on.
2/3 Science. Is loyal(ish) to Ulthuan. Is not going to sell secrets.
1/3 Beasts. No special ability to get us exotic beasts.
2/3 Other. An Elf Crimes Wing sounds really fun, honestly.
Again, recruiting potential. Elf Crime means Elf Criminals!

Given that, I'm approval voting for
[X] The Salt Lord
[X] Harbourmaster Tenebrel Reefwalker

Her ambition is to enter Ulthuan to give the performance of a... Deathtime?

The Princess has contacts that would allow us to pass on information about patrols, enabling Cylostra to reach the shore.

The Harbourmaster also has those same contacts—it might actually be easier to get them from him—but either way, if we play our cards right we could use the Asur's influence to earn the Lamprey's loyalty.
I think you might be missing some context about the joke, which isn't too unexpected considering it's an old meme based on old old thread-madness from an entirely different quest (Let's Conquer An Alien Planet: Discussion Thread Tactics).

But yeah, as far as the most interesting contact, I'd have to go with the Tide of Skjold. I mean, "former Chaos worshippers turned heretic" is just such a fun paradoxical inversion

Oh my Ptah, I almost made a grave mistake. Thankfully, there's still time to fix this.

I am immediately and irreversibly pivoting. I am shifting course; altering paths; spinning 540 degrees on my heels and moonwalking directly away from the Lamprey, because more important things have come up. Frankly, it is a disgrace to the Omegahugger name that it took me this long to realise it. Sorry not-sorry, Cylostra, I have to break it off, because a new star is shining! It's not you, it's her.

Or more specifically, him.

Sold.

Something I'm honestly curious about is was Lutr a member of the Warhammer Fantasy version of the Shasu?

I don't know if they're a direct influence, since pastoral semi-nomadic people that live in the uplands and sometimes clash with and sometimes serve in the military of the sedentary settled farming peoples living in the lowlands is a very common historical dynamic. But they're definitely stamped from the same mold.

Welp.

[X] Princess Aelsabrim Fallenstar

I gotta.

A new Shyish+Dhar combo, based not on fear of death, but on terrible power of Nostalgia. Now elves will also get to participate! :V

Sure, sounds in-character.

But also I like these and hope they stick around

I have to wonder how Princess Aelsabrim is gonna react if and when she finds out that the old ambiguously undead guy she's doing business with is Neferata's personal magic tutor.
