-[X] Maybe not, no sense tipping anyone off of your abilities this early, for nothing.
As I recall, we have an enemy that's still wanting to see us torn down for unknown reasons. Let's not show our cards early-
I don't trust that guy to not have enough spies to say, learn our general gist and say, leak the deets to anyone facing us.
Cheap and easy way to humiliate a proud, and wrathful squire, and we have, if I recall, a weakness to grappling in general that we've not addressed, and thus, could be exploited by anyone who knows how.

The sensible if a boring option, it is time, perhaps, to temper Audry's Pride and Wrath instead of flaunting them?

[X] Challenge Margh to a Joust! He's a knight, it'll be a great way to break the ice!

Is the getting stronger when the sun is out inspired by Escanor from Seven Deadly Sins or something older than that?

I believe you've had sufficient time, locking up.

Update will be tomorrow unless the winter storm rolling in knocks the power out, then it'll be out when it's out.

I bet you're all asking, "Where's the writing? Where's the doot?"

Well, the doot is... Well, it's stalled out honestly, but it's not from a lack of motivation, but more "I haven't had a day's uninterrupted sleep in the past month, and I hit my limit for being able to be especially creative."

I've been watching the dogs for the parents, who have had their stay down south extended considerably, and... Uh, one of them in particular is taking it poorly, and he yips and whines for most of the night, which keeps waking me up, then when I can finally pass him off to my brother in the day, I can sleep--but I end up crashing for most of the day and have little energy left to continue.

Expectation is my parents will be able to take them back off my hands around the 20th, 21st or so. So I'm going to call this a Hiatus until then instead of leave you all hanging. This is Not me giving up, I said I've committed to it, and I'm even making producitvity my New Year's Resolution.

But I literally cannot focus with my current real world situation, and I'm not going to make myself feel guilty by failing to produce something despite this.

Soo, that's the story, such as it is. I'll be back sometime late January (After the 20th), and I'll be hoping to pick up the pace afterwards. Please wait warmly until it's ready!

Tournament at Winchester - 4 New

"Let's have a match!" Audrey declared, raising her voice and wildly gesticulating forward. "A champion of Cornwall, a Champion of Wessex! What finer prelude could there be to a contest like this?" She thought it was rather dramatic honestly, especially when the frustratingly handsome looking young man took his gaze from the sun above to tilt his head quizzically in her direction, the sun casting his features into a form that you'd call angelic. Well, joke's on him! She was just as impressive looking! Even if the glorious Sun didn't quite shine on her quite so well.

"Have we been introduced, sir?" Margh Grouse asked, tilting his head quizzically. "I was hoping to get a little more meditation in… Could it wait?"

He… Wasn't interested? Was it a cunning plot? An veiled ins… No, Audrey sensed nothing but honest confusion in his face. Was he then doing what came to her mind and carefully hiding his abilities?"

"Hate to say it, but Margh's kind of single minded." Jory whispers, patting Audrey's frozen shoulder from where she had paused, awaiting a response. "It's a good attempt, but unless you're going to be here all day until he's good and ready, he's going to keep being…" Audrey glanced back at his quiet little whistle, seeing him twirl an outstretched finger around his temple and then exhaling with a whoosh, flicking his hand out all the while.

"Good man, both to have in a fight and have at your side, but he's really committed to his bit, and I'm sure you're a busy fellow yourself Eotenslaga–maybe another time?"

Audrey did not whine. She was better than that! If her exhalation sounded much akin to a kettle's whistling, that was likely just a trick of the wind! Margh smiled beatifically. "I thank you for your forbearance, good sir! I will be sure to accept your invitation, when the melee begins however!"

Then he went right on basking in the light of the sun, like a statue chiseled by a saint–or at least a great artisan. Audrey's face flushed as she slumped, her posture finally relaxing. It… Didn't have the results she had hoped for. But they'd be able to match blades in the melee at least!

Did she meet a friend? A future acquaintance? Well, who knows. But at least she was aware of one of her competitors now!

Introduced to Jory and Margh Grouse, Cornish Cultivators following the path of Gareth and Gawain respectively. Received a promise that you'll have a match in the melee, which may or may not work out for you? Margh at least really, really seems to like the Sun, which seems like it'll be important later.

Audrey has 6 time units to spend as she pleases. Each activity costs 1 time unit, with shopping and socializing being repeatable activities. The Minor Contests are over, but you still have a chance to familiarize yourself with the worthies present, or do some more detailed investigation on potential rivals. The contest proper will begin tomorrow!

[ ] Shopping (Grace Check to see what you can find)
[ ] Socializing with the other contestants (Mystery Box!)
[ ] Investigating a Competitor
-[ ] Margh Grouse (Cornish Cultivator of the Seat of Gawain)
-[ ] Jory Grouse (Cornish Cultivator of the Seat of Gareth

AN: And we're back! Thanks for your patience, bit of a short one to warm back up with, but I don't foresee any further missed days going forward, now that the adjustments in my life situation have cleared up.

Hrrrm.
Well that's something to remember.
Idk for certain how the Melee will work but now we can be sure Sun Boy will want a piece of us which may or may not work out…
I want to think it's a big chaotic brawl of a fight, though, which means where normally Audrey would want to go forth and mix it up with the best she should probably be more reserved then usual, I think. At least until Solare there is dueled. After that she'll be free or out of the event.

This is intended as a plan vote, with 6 actions to take. You can certainly do this, but you can't really do it 6 different times...

We may not be able to "investigate" Margh 6 different times, but it appears that we can "socialise" Margh 6 different times. 😃

-[X] Shopping (Grace Check to see what you can find)
-[X] Socializing with the other contestants (Mystery Box!) x3
-[X] Investigating a Competitor
--[X] Margh Grouse (Cornish Cultivator of the Seat of Gawain)
--[X] Jory Grouse (Cornish Cultivator of the Seat of Gareth

Feels like a "default" plan so to speak, but unless anyone has a good write-in action I want to go for this. We could do 2 of each for social/shopping, but honestly I'd rather save our wealth for our Estate/cultivation.

[X] Plan: Networking
-[X] Socializing with the other contestants (Mystery Box!) x4
-[X] Investigating a Competitor
--[X] Margh Grouse (Cornish Cultivator of the Seat of Gawain)
--[X] Jory Grouse (Cornish Cultivator of the Seat of Gareth

I think I'm good on shopping. I'd like to avoid getting scammed again.

I mean, you got scammed because you weren't paying attention and you rolled bad, there's good stuff there too!

[X] Plan Rolling the gacha
90% of gamblers quit right before the big win, we got screwed on the shopping gacha last time so this time must go well
pls fudge the dice if we get fucked again on shopping luck

I mean, I don't think it's really fair to say "you weren't paying attention" when the only signifier that he could have been an ancient immortal copper swindler is memes from our own timeline. Rolled poorly, sure, but unless you're saying we should never buy anything when the roll is low I'm not sure what exactly we were supposed to think.
