[X]The Fire and Flame: Maybe you and John can get a combo going, try to make something awesome.
-----------------------

"Hey John, I have an idea to fight that shadow, and look cool while doing it!" you said with a grin, igniting the golden flames of Icarus as fiery wings spread from your back.

John groaned, rubbing his temples. "We're fighting a shadow, and your priority is looking cool?"

"Yeah, you've got the whole scarecrow costume thing going on," you replied, stretching your wings dramatically. "I think it's only fair I get to have a little fun with this."

"What happened to staying safe?" John shot back, exasperation clear in his tone.

Bat-Mite, floating nearby, folded his tiny arms. "Your friend has a point, Adam. Why are you doing this?"

You hesitated, letting the question sink in. For a moment, you felt the weight of their stares, one full of frustration, the other of bewildered judgment. Finally, you shrugged, though the weight in your voice betrayed the casual gesture. "Because… no one will ever forget this kind of thing. If I don't make it out of here tomorrow, at least I'll have done something worth remembering."

John's expression softened for a moment before hardening again. "Yeah, well, guess what, Adam? I care enough about you that I'm out here fighting freaking monsters in the streets of Gotham, risking my neck every single night. So maybe, just maybe, you could give me a better reason than 'I wanna look cool.'"

You frowned, feeling the sting of his words but also the truth behind them. Bat-Mite, for once, stayed quiet, watching the exchange with something almost like curiosity.

"Fine," you said after a long pause, your voice quieter but no less determined. "It's because this plan needs two people."

John blinked, clearly not expecting that answer. "Two people? For what?"

You gestured to the shadow, which had begun to slink closer, its tendrils writhing with hunger. "The way it moves, the way it reacts to my fire, it's too fast. If I attack, it'll just dodge or absorb the flames. But if we hit it together… if we time it perfectly…"

Realization dawned on John's face. "You're thinking we corner it. Force it to pick between two attacks it can't block at the same time."

"Exactly," you said, the fire in your wings flaring brighter. "You've got the fear factor, the chains, and whatever creepy scarecrow powers you've got going on. I've got the firepower. Together, we can take it down."

John stared at you for a long moment before sighing and shaking his head. "You're crazy. You know that, right?"

"Crazy works," you said with a grin. "Now, are you in, or do I have to do this solo?"

John rolled his eyes but tightened his grip on his chains. "Alright, fine. Let's do this. But if you get yourself killed, I'm not explaining this to anyone."

Bat-Mite clapped his hands gleefully. "Now this is what I like to see! Heroic teamwork! Go get 'em, champions!"

You became something like a figure out of myth, a fiery silhouette, the great flaming wings of Icarus stretching wide and illuminating the darkness. The heat was unbearable, the searing pain licking at your skin as your trench coat began burning away, but none of it mattered. Not the pain, not the smoke curling from your clothes. There was something deeper, something primal, surging through you as the shadow turned its full attention your way.

"Icarus… you'll know when," you murmured, your voice a calm thread in the chaos.

You felt a faint warmth beyond the fire, a different kind of energy, Pixie's power. It coursed toward John, weaving into him. You could see it now: his steps were growing faster, his movements stronger. He was becoming something else, something more.

Bat-Mite hovered nearby, cackling gleefully. "Oh, you're so screwed now, you little shadowy piece of filth!" he taunted, blowing a raspberry at the creature.

The shadow began to shift, its form warping and contorting. It reacted to your flames, its tendrils flickering like smoke in the wind, its entire body coiling tighter as if preparing to strike. You held your ground, letting it come closer, the heat around you intensifying with every second. Meanwhile, John kept moving, circling like a predator, his chains clattering softly as they dragged behind him.

And then the shadow charged.

"NOW!" you shouted, raising your blazing wings as the beast lunged forward.

But something went wrong. A slick, cold tendril snaked out faster than you could react, striking your ankle. You stumbled, the fire dimming as your leg locked in place. Panic surged through you, you couldn't move. You were trapped.

Your heart pounded as fear clawed its way into your chest. This was it. You were going to die. The shadow loomed closer, its form expanding, suffocating the light. Memories flashed in your mind, painful and distant. You remembered a cold, aching emptiness, a sense of dying alone. The thought terrified you, freezing your breath in your lungs.

But then, out of the corner of your eye, you saw movement, a streak of shadows and flame.

John.

He came charging on the spectral horse of the Headless Horseman, its hooves igniting the ground as it galloped. He barreled into the shadow, the chains in his hands glowing with unnatural light as they snapped and tore through the tendrils. The impact shattered the grip around your ankle, and the pressure vanished.

The moment the tendril broke, you felt the fire within you reignite. Relief flooded you, quickly replaced by determination. The shadow was now open…

You spread your arms wide, the fiery wings of Icarus flaring to their full span, each feather an ember of radiant light as they burned off, being replaced with wax and fire. The heat was overwhelming, the air itself shimmering and distorting around you as the intensity built to a blinding crescendo. For a single, breathless moment, time seemed to stop.

"PERSONA!"

And then you unleashed the sun.

The light exploded outward, a searing wave of pure fire and brilliance that consumed everything in its path. The shadow writhed and screamed, its tendrils thrashing wildly as they were caught in the inferno trying to protect itself.. It was a sound that scraped against your very soul, a primal, guttural howl of something ancient and malevolent being torn apart.

The flames licked at the ground, at the walls, at the very air, leaving trails of golden light in their wake. You stood at the epicenter, unmoving, as the power surged from you like an uncontainable torrent. The darkness didn't stand a chance. The shadow shrank back, smaller and smaller, its form breaking apart as the light burned through it.

And then it was over.

The shadow became naught but ash, a thin, black dust that swirled briefly in the air before disappearing into nothingness.

You staggered the fire around you dimming as exhaustion hit like a wave. The wings faded, flickering out of existence until you were left standing in silence, the faint smell of burnt air lingering.

John approached, his scarecrow mask tilted slightly as if he was appraising you. "Well," he said, his voice breaking the quiet, "that's one way to light up Gotham."

You gave him a tired grin, feeling the weight of what you had just done settle on your shoulders. "Yeah, well, I figured if I was going to burn out, I might as well go big."

Bat-Mite appeared at your side, clapping his tiny hands enthusiastically. "Now that was a performance! You really brought the heat, champ! Get it? Heat? Because you were-"

"Not now, Bat-Mite." you said, shaking your head before you saw that your coat was gone... same with much of your shirt. "Ah, that was my favorite coat, this is so unfair! When do I get my magical clothes!?"

John smirked, clearly enjoying your frustration. "Magical clothes come to those who deserve them, detective. Maybe you need to level up first."

You groaned, brushing the soot off what remained of your shirt, not that it helped much. "Level up? What is this, a video game? I just incinerated a freaking shadow monster! I think I've earned my magical wardrobe by beating the crap out of monsters."

Bat-Mite hovered in closer, grinning mischievously. "Oh, don't worry, Adam! Your time will come. Everyone gets their own style eventually. But, uh..." He tilted his head, examining you. "Right now, you're rocking the 'post-apocalypse scavenger' vibe. Very trendy."

"Not helping," you muttered, glancing at the scorched remains of your trench coat on the ground. "I can't believe it's gone."

"Look on the bright side," John said, still chuckling. "Now you have an excuse to get something better. Maybe something fireproof?"

You shot him a glare. "You're enjoying this way too much."

"Absolutely," he said without hesitation. "It's not every day I get to see my friend make himself a fool."

Bat-Mite chimed in, spinning gleefully in the air. "You two are hilarious! Like a buddy cop duo, but with monsters and mayhem! Oh, I can see it now: 'Flames and Scarecrow- Gotham's New Guardians!' What do you think?"

John rolled his eyes. "I think you need to work on your marketing skills."

You sighed, running a hand through your soot-streaked hair. "Can we please just figure out what's next? Preferably something that doesn't involve me catching fire again unleashing the sun. Because while that was awesome, I really don't want to do that again unless my clothes are fireproof."

Bat-Mite clapped his tiny hands, the sound echoing oddly in the quiet street. "Next? Well, you're both young children, and you need rest! I say we continue this another night."

You shot John a weary glance, his face still lit up with a grin like he'd just hit the jackpot. "Fine," you said, exasperated. "But first, let's find me a shirt before we head home. I'm not walking around Gotham like this."

John smirked. "You mean like a guy who just burned a monster and won... It's a good look. but not one I recommend following."

"Very funny," you muttered, though the corners of your mouth betrayed you with a small, reluctant smile. You were still standing. And, as annoying as John's teasing could be, it was better than facing the shadows alone.

"Wait," John said suddenly, stopping in his tracks. "What about the money?"

You blinked, confused for a second, until you followed his gaze, and then you saw it. A huge suitcase sat a few feet away, slightly singed but still intact. You both froze.

"Holy crap," you said, taking a step closer. "Is that... is that a suitcase full of money?"

John darted over, cautiously flipping the lid open, and his jaw practically hit the pavement. "It's all money! And gold! And—" He reached in, pulling out a handful of glittering jewels. "Oh my god, it's like a treasure chest!"

Bat-Mite floated above the suitcase, his face lighting up with glee. "Ta-da! Shadow loot! They hoard it like dragons, you know. You've earned this fair and square!"

You exchanged a glance with John, his eyes as wide as dinner plates. "What the hell are we supposed to do with this?" he asked.

You shrugged, taking a tentative step closer. "I don't know… It's usually not this big, and I don't know any fences."

John stared at the fortune, shaking his head. "This is too much. Someone's going to come looking for this. Gotham's got plenty of creeps who'd kill for less than this."

You sighed, crossing your arms. "You're not wrong. And we've already got enough people trying to kill us. This much cash? It's like painting a neon target on our backs."

Bat-Mite huffed. "You humans and your drama! Fine, be boring about it. But at least keep a little, enough for new clothes, maybe?" He gestured dramatically at your shirtless, soot-covered self.

John snorted. "Yeah, maybe you can get something that doesn't go up in flames next time."

"Ha ha," you deadpanned, though you couldn't entirely disagree. "Seriously, though. We can't just leave this here. What do we do?"

And then Margaret stepped out of the Velvet Room, her presence as poised and commanding as ever. She looked at Bat-Mite, who was floating triumphantly above the suitcase. Her sharp eyes narrowed slightly, though her smile remained polite. "Ah, Bat-Mite. I believe I'll take it from here. You appear to be trying to get the esteemed guest of the Velvet Room killed with... what is this, an absurd fortune? Far too much for someone of his current standing to possess without being a criminal or Bruce Wayne. and he does not look like Bruce Wayne."

Bat-Mite pouted, crossing his arms. "Oh, spoilsport, Margaret. What's the harm? It's not like he's buying a yacht. Besides, isn't Igor supposed to step in when things get boring?"

Margaret's gaze didn't waver. "Igor is in Japan again, overseeing another guest. And, last I checked, Mister Romero is not fluent in Japanese, so we'll manage here without his theatrics." She turned her attention to the suitcase, waving a hand gracefully. Most of its contents vanished into thin air, leaving behind a modest stack of cash and a small pouch of glimmering gems, all split up between you and John. "As for this... since it came from shadows, it will be better utilized elsewhere. Adam-"

John, standing a few feet away, stared slack-jawed at the spectacle. "Are you seeing this?" he hissed, nudging you.

You nodded, equally stunned. "Uh... Margaret, meet John. John, Margaret. It's... complicated, but she's kind of helping me with the whole 'beating up shadows' thing."

John tilted his head, squinting at Margaret. "Okay, but... is she, like, a god? Or an angel or something?"

Margaret chuckled softly, an almost maternal warmth in her demeanor. "No, darling. I work for them." Her smile widened just enough to be disarming. "Though I suppose you could say I have... connections."

John blinked, still processing. "Connections? You just made a suitcase of money disappear like it was Monopoly money."

Margaret arched a delicate brow. "And yet, I am not the strangest thing you've encountered tonight. Shall we move on?"

Bat-Mite let out a dramatic groan, throwing his hands in the air. "Oh, fine! I'll leave the boring, sensible stuff to you, Margaret. But don't come crying to me when these kids need a Bat-themed deus ex machina!"

Margaret ignored him, turning her full attention to you. "Adam, your journey has barely begun. Do try to keep your wits about you. And, perhaps," her gaze flicked briefly to your soot-streaked appearance, "invest in sturdier attire next time."

You sighed, glancing down at the remnants of your scorched clothes. "Yeah, yeah. Message received."

John smirked, clearly enjoying your predicament. "Guess you should've asked for a magical wardrobe while you were at it, huh?"

Margaret's smile remained serene, though her eyes sparkled with amusement. "One step at a time. For now, rest. Tomorrow brings new challenges, and you'll need your strength. As for Magical Wardrobe… all in good time."

With that, she turned and stepped back into the Velvet Room, the door fading away as though it had never been there. You and John stood in silence for a moment, the weight of the night's events settling around you.

John finally broke the silence, shaking his head in disbelief. "Dude, your life is so weird."

You snorted, starting to walk. "Tell me about it."

"Well I'll be off kids." Bat-mite said. "Take care." He than disappeared as if he was never there.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Hunting Shadows ended. You went home.

Reward: Gain 20,000 USD, along with one bag of gems of unknown value. John took his split and went home.

The Velvet Room has a gift for you the next time you go there. A powerful gift that will assist you.

------------------------------------------------------

You have 3 turns to save your own life and bring down Maroni's conspiracy.

You have 5 actions.

Special Actions:

[]Fighting the Shadows Of Gotham: You are going to wander the streets of Gotham, and fight the Shadows that prowl it.
-[]Bring John with you: You want to bring him with you

[]Reveal the Truth: You have something to show the world, maybe it will be enough to save you. (Warning, You have enough evidence to bring down the Matron and save your own life, but the prospect of bringing Maroni down is very… unlikely.)

[]A Media Blitz: instead of making a classic investigation, you might try to expose Maroni and his cronies through the media. It's not going to raise to much alarms, but it might… do something. (Warning, doing this action with the evidence you have will safe your life, but with the current state of Jack Ryders Reputation and news connections, it may not make national news headlines… and maybe forgotten with)

-------------------------

[]A Gift: Margeret has a gift for you. Something to help you not have any... more incidents of losing your coat and shirt again.

[]Secure Evidence: You have the chance to secure the ledgers and paperwork from the Matron. Hopefully in such a way that it will make Bullock's life easier when he gets involved.

[]Fencing and Fiances: You need to get rid of the gems... maybe they might be worth something.

[]Zatanna and the Magical Mystery Tour: You want to know more about Magic... but Zatanna seems unsure.

[]The Creative Usage of Persona's: You have an idea on how to use Pixie and Icarus... maybe it will work. maybe it won't. but you might as well try.

[]On the Side: You want to work... maybe you can offer your services to some of your fellow classmates... who knows who could use a detective.

[]An Expose: Jack Ryder wants a news story, so you will get him one.

[] Examine Crime Scenes: With Bullock's guidance—or on your own—revisit old cases to see what others missed. Fresh perspectives often uncover new leads.

[] Tail Maroni's Men: They're careful, but not perfect. Following them discreetly could reveal key locations and plans.

[] Break into Gotham PD Evidence Room: The police might be hiding crucial pieces of the puzzle. If you're stealthy, you might find something they've buried.

[] Talk to John: John was looking at the TV screen. "You know… what do you think is going on in the TV?"

[] Visit Wayne Tower: Rumors swirl about Bruce Wayne and his secretive dealings. Perhaps someone at the tower knows more about his parents' legacy—and its ties to Gotham's darkness.

[] Follow Detective Bullock: He wants you like gum on shoe, so you are staying down.

[] Explore Gotham's Underground: The city's tunnels and sewers are more than hiding places—they're a hub of rumors and forgotten truths. If you dare, you might find someone who knows more.

[] Explore Crime Alley: Dangerous as it is, whispers claim that the key to Gotham's deepest mysteries lies in its darkest streets.

[] Visit the Clocktower: Recently, lights have been seen in the supposedly abandoned tower. What could be happening there after dark?

[] Scout the Docks: The port is bustling with shady activity—smuggling, bribery, and worse. Following the right lead might expose how Maroni operates.

[] Train with Bullock: The detective doesn't make it easy, but his no-nonsense lessons in tailing suspects and thinking like a cop could save your life.

[] Research Gotham's History: There's power in knowledge. By digging through the city's archives, you might uncover forgotten truths—or warnings.

[] Confront the Matron: She knows more than she lets on. Confronting her directly could be risky but might force her to reveal something valuable.

[] Do Nothing: The chaos can wait. Take a moment to breathe, process, and gather your strength. Sometimes the best action is rest.

AN: Enjoy and vote in plan format please.

So where should we go next?

Velvet Room is a must but Bullock is oretty insistent we stay close to and no do anything risk.

So I don't know if we should secure the ledgers or not.

Securing the ledgers tips people off that someone's investigating, so it should be reserved near the end.

A tentative plan would be:

-Velvet Room
-Following Bullock
-Training with Bullock
-Creativity with Training Personas
-???

Bullock won't let us take risky options until he feels we are prepared enough, so we need to actually train our skills. This also let's us build our SL with him.

This leaves a final flex option. Discounting the risky options, we can either:
-Build our bond with Zatanna (and maybe learn magic
-Give Jack a news story (build his reputation to use the media blitz route)
-Examine Crime Scenes (Random leads +benefits?)
-Explore a new location (Wayne Tower, Clocktower, Underground, Crime Alley)
-Visit the Archives (One of the last "safe" research options, but unknown if relevant to Maroni)

May as well check Wayne Tower, who knows what can we find there.

Maybe we get luck and even stumble upon Bruce Wayne.

I like the idea of training this turn, next turn we do all the tailing and evidence gathering since right now we are preparing for it. Going to the Wayne's might get us some help, it's definitely a hail Mary but if we get Bruce or link the Wayne's death with Maroni we're golden.

You groaned, brushing the soot off what remained of your shirt, not that it helped much. "Level up? What is this, a video game? I just incinerated a freaking shadow monster! I think I've earned my magical wardrobe by beating the crap out of monsters."
No Adam, this is a forum game. You got it almost right though, congrats!
John smirked. "You mean like a guy who just burned a monster and won... It's a good look. but not one I reccomend following."
recommend
without being a criminal or Bruce Wayne. and he does not look like Bruce Wayne."
Change the '.' to a ','

For the newest update, I think John and Margaret are my favorite characters right now. John's teasing is hilarious, and Margaret's sensible attitude is so refreshing. Also, more lore! So it looks like something is happening in Japan, huh? Adam is goofy in this, and I love it! Though, his fear of being alone again right as he thinks that he's about to die is... sad, yeah. And Bat-mite, well, he's not that annoying, it's fine. John's right though, he could definitely improve his sales speech.

For the vote, I do feel like Scouting The Docks is more fruitful than visiting Wayne Tower. In its description, it did mention how the docks could give info on Maroni's ring.

My Vote:

[X] Plan: Velvet gift: Docks Edition
-[X] A Gift
-[X] The Creative Usage of Personas
-[X] Follow Detective Bullock
-[X] Train with Bullock
-[X] Scout the Docks

I wanted Margaret to be sensible because she is supposed to be sensible and actually… you know compatent.

Unlike some other velvet room attendants I shall not name.

Also, more lore! So it looks like something is happening in Japan, huh?
There is always something going on in Japan it's really not that… interesting.

Adam is goofy in this, and I love it!
I always wanted to you know… make Adam a kid who is goofy and serious when he needs to… so he's not just like Batman.

And Bat-mite, well, he's not that annoying, it's fine. John's right though, he could definitely improve his sales speech
Yeah trying to make Bat mite not be like Morganna is rather difficult because he is not that great and the stories I read are far more…

Humor based.

Plus John is a genius who is studying psychology so I'd think he knows how to sell people something.

Part 23: A New Day… Last Day

[] Follow Detective Bullock: He wants you like gum on shoe, so you are staying down.
[] Train with Bullock: The detective doesn't make it easy, but his no-nonsense lessons in tailing suspects and thinking like a cop could save your life.

Harvey was glad you were there. Though the tight line of his mouth and the furrow in his brow betrayed his unease. "You're still on this… thing you're obsessed with," he muttered, shaking his head. "My God, you're trying to get me killed."

You leaned back against the worn seat, your arms crossed defensively. "I never wanted any of this to happen. But that's the thing, Harvey. People always force others into situations they never asked for." Your voice was calm, but the bitterness in your tone was hard to miss.

Harvey ran a hand through his hair, letting out a long breath. He didn't answer immediately, his gaze fixed on the cracked dashboard. "Yeah, you're right," he finally said. "Life's messy like that. But still..." His eyes flicked to you, softer now. "I'm glad you're staying safe, kid. Or as safe as you can be, anyway."

You tilted your head, studying him. "So, what are you doing out here? Staking out?"

Harvey let out a dry chuckle, shaking his head. "Nah. Just enjoying the peace and quiet while I can."

His voice sounded wistful, and for a moment, the tension in the air seemed to dissipate. He turned his gaze to the rain-slicked streets outside the window, but you could tell his focus wasn't really on the city—it was on you.

"Thanks for coming," he said quietly, his voice barely audible over the hum of the car engine.

You glanced at him, surprised by the sincerity in his tone. Harvey wasn't one to get sentimental. "Yeah, well," you said with a shrug, trying to downplay the moment. "What else was I gonna do?"

Harvey smiled faintly, his expression a mix of exhaustion and gratitude. "You're a good kid, you know that?" He leaned back in his seat, letting the tension drain from his shoulders. "Just… don't let this obsession of yours chew you up, alright? You're worth more than that."

Reward: You and Harvey spend time together. He may not have taught you much, but you think you helped him.

[]The Creative Usage of Persona's: You have an idea on how to use Pixie and Icarus... maybe it will work. maybe it won't. but you might as well try.

You stared at Pixie, your mind racing with curiosity. "So, Pixie, unlike Icarus, you can exist outside my body and… interact with the world?"

Pixie hovered in front of you, her translucent wings shimmering faintly in the dim light. "Not exactly," she replied, tilting her head. "I'm still bound by the powers of the Velvet Room. But that doesn't mean I can't try to interact with the world. My abilities are more focused on supporting you—making you stronger and keeping you alive in battle."

You frowned, glancing at the empty hallway. A dusty baseball sat abandoned on the ground, rolling slightly from an unseen draft. "Could you pick that up and bring it to me?"

Pixie blinked, then shrugged. "I've never tried something like that. My powers aren't really designed for moving physical objects. I'm not sure I can."

"Why not?" you asked. "What's stopping you?"

Pixie floated closer, her expression soft but firm. "You are. For me to move something in your world, you would have to expend an enormous amount of power. I'm tied to your strength, Adam. I don't want to hurt you."

You smiled, though the concern in her voice wasn't lost on you. "You won't hurt me. Just try."

At that moment, Icarus seemed to flicker in the back of your mind, as though offering a portion of his strength to Pixie. A faint glow surrounded her, her aura intensifying.

"Alright," Pixie said, her voice filled with determination. "I'll give it a shot."

She zipped across the hallway, her tiny form glowing brighter as she approached the baseball. With visible effort, she extended her hands, and the ball lifted off the ground. A laugh of pure delight escaped her as she managed to hover with it, inching her way back toward you.

But as the ball moved closer, you felt the strain. It started as a dull pressure behind your eyes, growing sharper with each second. Your temples throbbed, your breath hitched, and a warm trickle of blood slid down from your nose. You clenched your fists, forcing yourself to stay upright as Pixie brought the ball to you. The moment she released it into your hand, the connection snapped, and a wave of exhaustion hit you like a tidal force.

Pixie floated back, her laughter fading as she saw your condition. "You're hurt!" she said, her voice laced with guilt. "Adam, I'm so sorry."

You wiped the blood from your face with a shaky hand, managing a weak smile. "I'm fine. This... this might save my life someday."

Pixie hovered closer, worry etched on her tiny face. Before she could speak, you caught a brief glimpse of your reflection in the polished surface of a nearby wall. Your eyes glowed faintly, a golden hue that mirrored Margaret's unsettling gaze.

The sight jolted you, but before you could make sense of it, darkness crept into your vision. Your legs gave out, and the world blurred as you collapsed, unconscious.

Reward:
You can now send your Personas to interact with the physical world during your adventures. However, this ability drains your energy significantly and must be used sparingly, lest it leave you too weak to fight.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
[] Visit Wayne Tower: Rumors swirl about Bruce Wayne and his secretive dealings. Perhaps someone at the tower knows more about his parents' legacy—and its ties to Gotham's darkness.

The Prince of Gotham made two trips to Wayne Tower every week, like clockwork. One of these trips was always a spectacle—a carefully orchestrated show for the people of Gotham and the employees of Wayne Enterprises. It was his way of reassuring everyone that Bruce Wayne, heir to the Wayne legacy, was still alive and engaged, even if his involvement seemed superficial. The cameras loved it, and the people lapped it up.

He never made these appearances alone. By his side, as ever, was Alfred Pennyworth, the enigmatic butler whose presence you found deeply unsettling. According to your research, Alfred was no mere servant. His history as a former British Army operative, a skilled stage actor, and now the loyal guardian of the Wayne family made him an unpredictable force. It wasn't just his resume that unnerved you—it was his sharp, discerning gaze, as though he could see right through your intentions.

This time, though, you were counting on his humanity, his fallibility. Maybe, just maybe, Alfred's sharp eyes would notice something familiar in you—a resemblance to Bruce Wayne—and dismiss it as coincidence.

The second trip Bruce made every week was far less public. This one was practical: carrying sensitive documents back to the fortress-like Wayne Manor. It was during this quieter, more vulnerable journey that you planned to act. The limo was the key, both literally and figuratively.

As you crouched behind a corner, waiting for the sleek black limousine to pull up, you whispered, "Icarus, I need you and Pixie to unlock that limo door."

"How exactly do you plan to do that?" Icarus asked, his voice tinged with skepticism. "Phasing through solid objects isn't exactly in my wheelhouse."

You grinned. "Pixie doesn't need to phase through. She just needs the door slightly ajar, and I'll do the rest."

That meant timing was everything. The window of opportunity before the door locked again would be seconds at most. You flexed your fingers, nerves buzzing.

"And what happens after that?" Icarus pressed. "What's your grand plan?"

You reached into your pocket and pulled out a folded piece of paper. "Leave a note. I know Pixie can move objects, and I know exactly what I want it to say."

Inside the limo, Bruce Wayne glanced at the folded note resting on the seat. It was impossible to miss, placed in a way that spoke of precision rather than carelessness. A faint crease formed between his brows as he picked it up, scanning the short message:

I'm offering help as a detective. If you want it… But I need help first. Come to this address if you think I'm telling the truth.

Bruce stared at the note for a long moment. It wasn't the contents that unsettled him, it was the delivery. Someone had accessed the car, and left it without a trace of any sort of physical evidence of tampering. Alfred was careful, and not careless, meaning that they did it without any sort of contact…. and that alone was worrying. But the note itself intrigued him, even calmed him.

"Alfred," Bruce said, handing over the note.

The butler read it, his expression as inscrutable as ever. "A bold move, sir. But perhaps… not without merit."

Bruce nodded slowly, his mind already racing. If this was a trap, it was an oddly earnest one. And if it wasn't… perhaps this unknown detective truly needed help.

Reward:
You have made contact with Bruce Wayne. He might be willing to help you, but only if you can convince him your intentions are genuine.
---------------------------------------------------------
[]A Gift: Margeret has a gift for you. Something to help you not have any... more incidents of losing your coat and shirt again.

Margaret smiled with a touch of mischief in her eyes. "So, your investment in the Velvet Room has borne some fruit."

You stood at the threshold of what could only be described as a walk-in closet, though calling it a "closet" felt like a severe understatement. It stretched endlessly, racks of clothing and shelves of accessories spiraling into infinity. The sheer size of it left you speechless.

"What… what is this?" you finally managed, taking a hesitant step inside.

"Your gift," Margaret replied, clearly amused by your reaction. "You've been lamenting the loss of your wardrobe while hunting shadows. So, we decided it was time for an upgrade." She gestured broadly at the expanse before you. "Though, to be precise, it's less of an expansion and more of a... dimensional enhancement."

You looked around, overwhelmed by the possibilities. "So, I can wear anything I want?"

Margaret's smile widened. "Anything you want." She paused, her tone turning playful. "With one caveat—nothing Bat-related."

You raised an eyebrow. "Why not?"

She sighed dramatically. "Bat-Mite claimed it would be copyright infringement. And according to him, such an offense would summon the shadows to hunt you down and destroy you. Honestly, I think he just wants to keep all the Bat-themed attire for himself."

You couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity. "Fair enough. So, if I wanted a knight's armor, a trench coat, or even something casual like a hoodie…"

Margaret nodded. "All within reach." She stepped aside, allowing you to wander deeper into the endless closet. "Consider it a token of appreciation for your efforts. And a way to ensure you're always prepared, no matter what shadows you face."

As you ran your fingers along the rows of garments, a sense of awe and excitement bubbled within you. "I think I could get used to this," you said with a grin.

Margaret chuckled. "Good. And now, you have the tools to make quite the impression."

Reward:
Your Velvet Room Closet allows you to summon and customize outfits tailored for any adventure, blending style and function seamlessly.

[] Break into Gotham PD Evidence Room: The police might be hiding crucial pieces of the puzzle. If you're stealthy, you might find something they've buried.

[] Talk to John: John was looking at the TV screen. "You know… what do you think is going on in the TV?"

[] Follow Detective Bullock: He wants you like gum on shoe, so you are staying down.

[X] Basically your former "hunting attire" except well-tailored. Fedora, trench coat, the full grizzled detective ensemble. The shadow cast on your face by the fedora is unchanging regardless of angle or lighting, resembling a domino mask.

We had the right idea for our costume, it just needed more durability than normal mortal fabric can provide.
