Gravity Plates because Orbital Supremacy. :V

And Royal Urbies because SLDF stuff reverse engineering. And since we don't know what year it is (it could be Dark Age for all we know...), having access to more exotic parts will help.

Though the Terran Hegemony is notorious with their blackboxes... So you could reckon there's another reason to go pick the other options.

I'm very leery of the Melee Option though. Just. Why?

It could also not be using Double Heat Sinks or XL Engines/Endo-Steel: the former means it overheats just firing the Heavy PPC and without the latter that means the Urbies have little to no armor or has Ferro-Fibrous.

...regardless, I'm still tempted to get the pristine Royal Urbies. @_@;

The Urbie could be rocking 270 Engines but QM did say these thing moves at ~90 Cruising and 140 top speed... And a 240 Engine is kinda more 'common' in the Inner Sphere than a 270 Engine most of the time but that's just my personal opinion.

Edit: Because, if you decide to do a covert intelligence gathering mission via mercenary company, a Star of Meele Mechs enhanced by your technology and industry would go from "weird" to "*incoherent screaming*" levels of effectiveness. And that would help get attention, contracts, salvage, information, etc.

Non-Edit:
Additionally, you, and your potential mechs/current Mobile Suits, won't be restricted by BTs setting and technological limitations. You either go hard into range, drone hub, and artillery, or speed, manipulation, and support. The first enables "reality arrives" levels of firepower, the latter "eldritch ghost mechs eating your city" levels of terror...and industrial boosts.

If you choose Mobile Suits and go for melee specialization, you could end up with, for example, the quadrupedal Rattenkönig, a low-slung mobile suit that can run at 120kph, climb vertical and inverted walls without issue, and use its many tails to highjack enemy machinery, breach security systems, and be a menace with its claws to convoys that aren't protected.

You could also end up with the Firespire if you go ranged, an octapedal drone hub armed with over-the-horizon missile batteries and an internal command center.

You convinced me due to this. :V Now I can't decide! D;

And specifically, a Star? What, we came across mechs from Clan Wolverine somehow? :V

Mech Mafia stays winning. :V

No, I just used the correct terminology for five mechs operating as one unit. Because if you make a mercenary unit to spy and gather information, you won't adhere to "Four Mechs" as your standard, but "Combined Arms."

Votes!... Unless QM says we can only pick one Find Option. Dx

[X][Technology] Gravity-Plates
Guys we need those gravity plates remember we are not limited by 80s-space magic and gravity plates are apparently impossible to invent in Battletech this would give us an enormous advantage we can easily create Mobile Suits with all the mechs that can be salvaged/researched.

I really wanted to go Mobile Suits, as I'm a gundam lover, but artificial gravity is so useful to have no matter the setting.

I just noticed that the ship's speed is absolutely absurd for Battletech. We're talking about being able to cross the Inner Sphere from one end to the other in less than a DAY, where others would take at least HALF A YEAR.

I suppose it will have disadvantages, but... I would certainly be happy to abuse such an advantage.

There isn't, I made one up. Basically ~90kph cruise and 140 running, 1 Heavy PPC, and no JJs.
-Doubles checks numbers-
Did you drop a ton of armor from the base six for the Urbie? Because even with an XL engine, endo-steel, FF armor and just the heavy PPC while moving at 9/14, it's a ton overweight.

No, the ship travels 1.345 LYs per day. It would take 297 days and then some hours to cross the entire 400 LYs of the Inner Sphere.

[Edit: Ah, I see the problem. The . does not mean 1345 LYs, but 1 LY and then 0.345 units.]

But you'd do so in a vessel large enough to carry 5 million people with enough things stockpiled to create 50 self-sufficient colonies, while being able to go FTL anywhere outside a planetary gravitational well, to anywhere, without charging.

You also look like a big donut. :3

It has a 270 engine, but I accidentally lost the details. -.-'. DiscordOxymoron posted their variant that will be used if the RUrbies win.
