Knockturned for The Better (Harry Potter Shopkeeper Quest)

[X] [Refuse - 300 Galleons]

I doubt purchasing the plot of land was cheaper than 300 Galleons. This is not a good business decision, and I think we've taken enough drawbacks on that front as it stands.

Keeping in mind that goblin crafts are exceedingly high quality and the rental is for life. If we had a heir they wouldn't inherit it by default, we'd have to negotiate a new lease for them, preferably while we're still here and on good terms.

And that is fine. Goblin terms are also very exact. The building, not the land, not the contents.

Its a far better quality way to start a shop IMO, than get a barebones shack in exchange for all our funds.

Poverty to riches is a better trope though. We still have items to sell in our storage. Lets get something basic up and go from there. If the goblin wants to rent a room fine.

On my part I have massive doubts we will ever care about the whole goblin inheritance thing. By the time it comes up our character will be dead and the quest is over.

For a shop, looking like a ramshackle unfurnished one also means terrible sales to start with. People don't buy if it looks bad, and the sound of our paid options is basically a wooden shack barely better than a mat in the street

-800 Galleons for a plot of land in Knockturn Alley.
yep, 800 galleons.

Which, honestly If we go for free, we would be a third of the way to have enough to buy the land again. Assuming that prices stay low, which it might be at a very low amount since its right after voldy was defeated. So Go for free and buy new land after he dies a second time. :p

I was originally against it, but having a better starting store. I think would make up for potentially losing the 800 galleons. Plus the ministry is already going to be agasint us because half ghost. So having the goblins on side would atleast make it so they cant say our shop is against build code or something. (without them having to deal with goblins going after them for daring to bad mouth there work)

That would only actually matter if the goblins got the land as well as the building, and quite frankly if they want it after we're dead our heir can either charge them rent for living on their land or just outright say "okay, so move the house off my land."

As such, I can confidently give absolutely zero fucks about what you're pretending is a bad business decision.

honestly the only thing I'm worried about because It would totally be something I could see in harry potter courts. "as your part ghost that means you are dead, as your dead you lose the building". If it wasnt for the fact it would go to goblins.

Basically, I know see having goblins build it be a shield against building inspections, say the shop is badly built go deal with the fact your bad talking goblin built construction. Golbins try to legally claim the building since you're part ghost, the minitry will fight it to keep it out of goblins hand 'better a half then a goblin'.

Just because I think starting with a crap place and building up sounds like more fun.

A more complete structure… complete with a roommate. However, this space won't be fully your own, and wizarding culture looks down on Goblins, which might not be helpful for sales.

There really aren't any downsides here that we'd deal with in the scope of the quest, anyone who wouldn't buy from someone with a Goblin roommate probably wasn't planning to buy from a halfbreed anyway
