The reason I went with using the NAE is cause it's established Destiny canon.
That and one of my favorite games is Section 8, so the idea of the United States calling itself an empire is not strange for me.

And over at Halo; the union is known as the United Republic of North America.

Also the mention of Fallout's Fusion just makes me think of fusion cores and wondering if we can eventually develop those. Also maybe build Mr. Handy's?
Regarding fusion cores, maybe in the form of them being like disposable batteries that are charge with our Cold Fusion Reactor.
Then again, it also depends on when we will get access to Arc energy sources.

By the way, and this is a LONG ASS TERM IDEA:
How many RPs and phases in total do you guys think it will take to create the Titan Project from Titan AE?
Let's just say that IC (in character), the people were inspired by the Traveler's terraforming abilities.

Also, vote opened until Thursday Night.

We should go for Experimental Cold Fusion Reactor, if we can learn to make more of it, that would be a massive money marker for us

For the Titan project hypothetically that kind of tech would require at least 7-10 phase with each phase costing 10^6 RP.
