The Enemy Within (WHF Witch Hunter Quest)

[X] Hunting with Magnus von Saponatheim
[X] Drinking with Max Ernst

I don't remember Magnus but going off on a hunt seems fun and I like the idea of being a absolute deadeye. Spending some time with Max also feels like the responsible thing to do.

Magnus was only introduced in this update, so its not surprising you don't remember him - he's the young nephew that the Graf sent to handle Bogenhafen and specifically get Captain von Goetrin dismissed. This is just an option to get to know him a bit.

prior to what she apparently expects to be a near-monastic period of foundational education once she enrols in the Colleges of Magic.
Probably highly dependent on the exact College she ends up in, but somehow I can't see her in Light or Death, so that's unlikely to become true.

The legbreaker is taking his injury hard, and by sharing a drink with him you might get him to open up instead of spiralling. +5 Toughness, +5 Endurance.

[X] Playing Middenball with Father Sigiwalt
The grizzled priest was supposed to be showing you how he ministers to the common folk. You're not quite sure how you ended up in the scrum as a result, but it seems to work. +5 Fellowship, +5 Leadership and Melee (Brawl).

I'd really hate to see Max go into depression or do something that seriously risks his recovery.
The situation is shit, but he can get through it.

See it the other way around, if he had gotten that kind of injury before entering into our long-term employment, he'd be as good as done. But as it is, he has a real chance of getting better.

Is a must in my book. As for the other option, I'll have to think on it, as well as about the possibility of a write-in, but I can see myself being persuaded by any of the offered options.

These four options all get us to critical brake points of +10 to the Attribute+Skill score.

[ ] Fencing with Spätin
The duelist's love life is a rolling disaster, and somehow you find yourself fighting duels in the streets of Bögenhafen, defending her honour against an array of jilted suitors. +5 Weapon Skill, +5 Melee (Fencing).

[ ] Hunting with Magnus von Saponatheim
The young noble has aspirations to join the Pistoliers, and as such is keen to practise his riding and marksmanship alongside you. +5 Ballistic Skill, +5 Ranged (Blackpowder).

This one on the other hand provides utility in areas we are less strong in but because the attribute and skill are not connected we get a less efficient boost.

[ ] Talking Shop with Elvyra
Practising medicine requires a strong stomach and a deep knowledge of all the ways in which the human body can be ruined. Elvyra possesses both. +5 Willpower and +5 Heal.

I would really rather Max doesn't fall into depression and the additional leadership skills from Sigiwalt could both help with that and help with convincing people of things, which we tried to do a lot this arc to mixed success. Also Markus could do with loosening the stick up his butt and fantasy football could help with that.

So:

TIme for Markus to engage in both noble and common pursuits, hunting and playing batshit warhammer version of medieval football/rugby

[X] Fencing with Spätin

I'm not sure how to spend the XP but these seem like the most interesting social actions. Can imagine them intersecting in a funny way as well

Markus needs a breather and extra Leadership skill will be good to have as the leader of a retinue wanting to pick up talent

[X] Drinking with Max Ernst

i just like Max as a contrast to Markus, hopefuly they can be closer friends

Is it rare for a witch hunter to do the "comfort the afflicted and reward the righteous" parts ?,because as far as i know about warhammer witch hunter and their reputation it must be a bit surreal for people around us to see us doing all that .

Look after our employee, and reground ourselves a bit in our faith and connection to the general population.

Yes. It's not unknown, but most witch hunters strongly prioritise the 'hunter' part of their job role. That we don't is one of the reasons we got promoted, IIRC.

In all situations we must first ask ourselves, "What would Sigmar do?" and in my opinion he would absolutely get completely plastered with his bros and then enjoy a game of even more violent dark fantasy rugby with his bros.

FOR THE HELDENHAMMER!
