A Shining Beacon in a World of Shade

Well here's the thing…in universe alchemy takes a long time to master.

Most magic does.
I mean, I get why it can be powerful, and i will ditch it, because you said it's too powerful. However, I fail to see the connection? I mean, yeah i'd understand a restriction like... Hey if you have this kind of power, FMA rituals are going to be too powerful. But, there's also a kind of disconnect like yeah, i wasn't planning on doing those rituals, i was going to joke about being called the foreman no matter the setting, as he built houses, and built walls to help protect places. It wasn't supposed to be a super combative cape in the first place, just a construction worker with superpowers.

he's saying the level of competence and experience the power you described would require is not something a quest start character should be capable of. there is a mechanics balance and the nature of the power described sets it as something that would start at a lower level than that ability. just ask that he point out the quest equivalent starter power to you for an easy pick and with effort you can work your way up to being capable of what you described, somewhat.

[X]The Golden Age of Superheroes (1930-1950): It is the Dawn of what is to be known as a golden age, as common people, heroics and masked vigilantes prowl the cities and states as the birth cries of the Ideal was born in this trying time.
-[X]The Brand New Day (1930)

[X] The Modern Age of Superheroes (2000-Present): You emerge at the new age, where every kind of heroes are more accepted than before, no matter what your methods are. Heroes come to conflicts of course, but they also unite to prevent the mistakes of the past.

Quite like the idea of supers vs aliens. Not sure what character I'd make - so many options! - but maaaaybe a heroic necromancer. For fun.

Oh boy! I wanna join
I already got some neat superhero Ideas, just need to choose 1

Edit:
I got ideas like...
Diamond Dame
A lady who after a terrible accident in a abandoned mind she was touring, inexplicably fused with a diamond deposit unnoticed for years, she can now transform herself into a humanoid creature made of the substance

Jet-Man
An aspiring engineering prodigy who constructed for himself a advanced armour that has all the abilities of a military fighter jet, but smaller, faster, and more maneuverable, fighting crime from up high, well... not exactly, most like flying around to patrol then going down to actually deal with the- you get the idea

The Broadway Knight
His mind inhabited by a unfinished play about a mysterious vigilante, he is compelled to go out and face crime personally, and thanks to the play, he can temporarily disorient those he acts out the play around due to its memetic effects, only if they actually sense him doing so and they have a weaker will then him

The Human Circus
Somehow has incredible athleticism, great at convincing animals to do tricks, and knows all sorts of ways to force someone to laugh even if they don't want to, she can be a one person act if she wants to, she decided to beat up the ringmaster that overworked her clown dad to death

Savior
A random homeless man who is possibly Jesus, can multiply dead organic matter such as bread and fish, heal the sick, and can climb and walk on gases and liquids as if they were soild if he desired, doesn't know if he can resurrect, but the thing is he is a atheist

Sticky-Situation
Lady that can turn into a mass of glue, I don't know what I should say, that is her whole thing, but to fill out space I'll mention how she likes to collect stamps

General Pyros
Can enhance those that follow his commands, these enhancements come in the form of pyrokinetic abilities themed after ancient warfare equipment, terms, and tactics, possibly due to his bloodline curse that pops up every couple generations, the upside is the powers, downside is the die by the age of 30 via burning to death

Alternate-Anne
A young woman that can make a bunch of copies of herself with minor differences in appearence and skillset, whose bodies she can control as if they were her own (since they are), they also have the ability to induce the Mandela Effect, making people remember certain events and facts wrong

Armed
Man who for some reason the universe cannot help but have a loaded gun be in his hand or on his person almost all the time, he is destined to have some kind of firearm with at least a bullet or two in it, till the day his soul leaves his body, so if he runs out of ammo and he gets disarmed, fate tomfuckery will have a different available firearm land in his open hand

You could consider switching to Crisis. Larger population than modern. Unique antagonist and allies. Long drawn out struggle with heroic last stand and sacrifices. Fight the best and the worst of an warmonger alien empire.

Modern Age is in the lead by one with 9 votes while Crisis Terra and Golden Age are tied at 8 votes a piece. this is still anyone's game between the top 3 contenders. 40 minutes to determine the course of a quest.
