A Shining Beacon in a World of Shade

Since those two are winning, modern era and 1979.
Modern Era's got the smallest (relative to the peak of 1979's Meta population) Meta Population of about..3.2 Million...ish

1979 was when the Metahuman Population more or less peaked at about 900 Million (Of a Global Population of 4.366 Billion People)

The 1990 Metahuman Population was even smaller.

Did the old countries survive or are there new political entities?
Oh most of the Nations of the Worlds are the same, as are many political systems.

But there are some rather oddball Comic Nations that came out of the rubble.

Like what replaced Hati, yeah the Universe gave them a break, a new name and no Debt this time.

But most of them are Micronations or the fun "Nations within Nations" federal type stuff.

Any other questions?

[]The Golden Age of Superheroes (1930-1950):
You can unintentionally cause a Multiversal Rift and make ww2 Span Multiple Universes...at least 3.
[]The Silver Age (1960-1975):
If you ever wanted to see what a High Functioning Atom-Shaper can do to the Global Order by simply charging 2 dollars a day for Infinate Energy Subscriptions, then you'll know just how badly you want the Cold War to stay normal.
[]The Crisis of Terra SOL (1979-1986):
Ever wanted to see how Earth can Survive a Super Nova to the Face, still maintain life and have everyone act like it was a really annoying Tuesday, that's something that can happen.
[] The Dark Age of Superheroes (1986-1999):
Its Unlikely, but one of the strangest Idologies a Supervillain can have is "Villiancratic Social Organization"- witch is an ideology of basically Latveria, but on a Global Scale.

Its as unstable as you think.
[] The Modern Age of Superheroes (2000-Present):
You can literally have a character be born from the Moon, not on the moon, FROM IT!

NEAT!!!

I really want to tank that supernova, just so we can say "...That all got? My Grandma hits cricket balls harder!"
I wouldn't recommend getting to that point.

mostly because having Super Nova's thrown around means we're fighting some of the Impirum's big guns, the sort of people who can level continents on a walk.

At least I have a List of NPC's I'll be playing as along side you to have fun with.

I mean, either we win enough that their forced to bring out the big guns, or we generate enough trouble back on their home turf to make them call off the war. The third option, hanging on and playing defeated species until there satisfied while helping as many people as possible, is probably tactically advisable, but not quite a playthrough that let's me flex super powered might. I'm space cruising to deal the aliens a bruising and I'm willing to take one in return.

Yep, all you have to do is kill the leader, and the Impirum Falls.

Any questions on the Aliens?
What kind of aliens are we fighting? Or is that a vote thing?

Martial race or just advanced tech?

Can I get a rough estimate on earth gaining the ability to strike back against them where they live if it makes moderate efforts to gain the ability to do so?

Any third party actors that might interfere in the conflict?

I want to make it like we're fighting a lot of the big aliens from Fiction, like the Asari, some of the Ben 10 aliens, and a bunch of other aliens, basically if you think it will work as something to fight, you'll deal with it.

I basically wanna throw all my love o Sci Fi at the wall and that includes the aliens.
Martial race or just advanced tech?
Both. Martial Races with a lot of Advanced Tech to back them up.

Well, umm, we canonically gain space strike craft by 1983 but they suck, and are as brittle as paper against the alien guns.
Any third party actors that might interfere in the conflict?
I mean, we have an alien Resistance Alliance that evolved into the Post War Galactic Community mentioned in the Modern Age Subvotes. Does that count?

So the alien empire saw earth, figured it was a push over but enough of a challenge for various factions/ideas to be tested. First to try and see what is superior then to try and find something that works.

More or less, The Imperium conquered Three other galaxies before invading ours. We're mostly fighting Milky Way Auxilleries, at least for the start.

Hmm. So the probe is just a Casus Belli triggering false flag to give them an excuse to invade?
No. We shot down the Probe, witch marked us as being civilized enough to have gunpowder weapons and a Nuke.

So they decided "Well, there are things living here, might as well send some guys to take it, no treaty, no warnings...should be a cakewalk, but if they ask we'll just say it's their fault."

[X]The Crisis of Terra SOL (1979-1986): Arthur C. Clarke said that we were either alone in the Universe, or we were not...it seems we were not alone, and it was terrifying to witness the might Mankind battled to maintain its existence as a species.
-[X]First Contact (1979)

I've had a real hard time deciding, but I'll go with this. However, if either 1930 or 2000 wins, I'll be perfectly happy.

Please let the Golden age win, I'd like to start before WW2 as it seems interesting... I already have an idea for my character taking advantage of the Great Depression.

[X]The Golden Age of Superheroes (1930-1950): It is the Dawn of what is to be known as a golden age, as common people, heroics and masked vigilantes prowl the cities and states as the birth cries of the Ideal was born in this trying time.
