Walking Dead: The Choices We Made (A Telltale CK2 Styled Quest)

So, in terms of whats' going on in Savanna, its basically Crawford's origin story?
Yep.
How did it start? Why did their leader do it?
The National Guard was evacuating all civilians even the sick, elderly, and kids to the less infested parts of the city. Crawford was a perfect place for that. Their leader still had the mentality that the government will fall and only the strong will survive. The National Guard sent few soldiers to make peace talks. They returned as walkers

Honestly if we manage to get enough people and DAKKA we can probably take the place over and make it into something actually viable.

Group Actions Turn 1
Clementine
Learn from others
DC Variable
Roll: 73

Clementine has been quietly watching everyone, learning what she can from each of us. She spent time helping Katjaa tend to Larry, observing how Carley sets up the defenses, and even watching Kenny as he tinkered with tools. That kid is sharp, and she's picking up survival skills fast. She asked me questions here and there—mostly about things that seem simple to us but are huge in her world now. Like how to stay quiet when Walkers are nearby, or what kind of berries are safe to eat. I can't say I'm surprised. Clementine is smart and resourceful, even if she doesn't realize it yet. She's learning how to survive in this new world, and I couldn't be prouder.

Kenny
Scout out Macon
DC 35
Roll: 8

Kenny volunteered to scout Macon to check on the state of the city. But things didn't go as planned. He came back angry, cursing under his breath. Said the streets were worse than he expected. He couldn't even make it to the center of town—too many Walkers, too many dangers he couldn't navigate. His temper got the best of him, and I could tell he was frustrated with how little he could accomplish. Still, he made it back in one piece, which is more than I can say for some. We'll have to rethink our approach if we want to get supplies from the city.

Katjaa
Check on Larry's Condition
DC Variable
Roll: 39

Katjaa's been trying to keep an eye on Larry, making sure he doesn't keel over from the stress. The man's not in good shape—his heart's been acting up since day one, and Katjaa's worried he's pushing himself too hard. She did what she could, but Larry's a stubborn old bastard. He won't slow down, no matter what she says. I could see the worry in her eyes, though. She knows she can't work miracles, and she's doing her best to keep him stable. But if Larry keeps ignoring her advice, there's only so much she can do.

Duck
Learn from Mom!
DC Variable
Roll: 86

Surprisingly, Duck's been a lot more attentive this week. He's been sticking close to Katjaa, watching her as she goes about her tasks. For all his energy and recklessness, he's actually learning. He asked Katjaa about first aid, how to treat wounds, and how to check someone's pulse. Katjaa's been patient with him, showing him the ropes. I think Duck's starting to realize that he needs to step up and be more responsible, especially with everything going on. It's good to see him taking things seriously, even if he's still a kid at heart.

Lilly
Friendly Chats.
DC Variable
Roll: 99

Lilly's been busy, not just with leading but with talking to everyone—really talking to them. For all her hard edges and strictness, she's making an effort to connect with the group on a personal level. I've seen her sit down with Katjaa, Carley, even Duck for some surprisingly calm conversations. Hell, she even had a few friendly words with me. It's like she knows we need to stick together now more than ever. Her leadership style might be tough, but this week, she's been building bridges, not burning them. It's a side of Lilly I didn't expect, but it's working.

Larry
Relax your Heart
DC Variable
Roll: 46

Larry's been… well, Larry. He's trying to take it easy, but that doesn't stop him from barking orders at people. Katjaa's been nagging him to rest more, and while he's listening (a little), I know he's fighting the urge to throw himself into work. The man's heart isn't what it used to be, and we all know it. He won't admit it, but there's fear in his eyes—fear that his body might give out before he's ready. He's trying to slow down, but that stubborn pride is still holding him back. We'll see how long he can keep this up.

Carley
Help with the Defenses
DC Variable
Roll: 79

Carley's been rock solid. She's been working on reinforcing our defenses, setting up barricades, and making sure the perimeter is secure. Her experience as a journalist might not seem relevant, but Carley's got a good head for problem-solving. She's been working with me and Lilly to make sure we're prepared for whatever comes next. Every time I pass by, she's either reloading her gun or checking our weak points. She doesn't say much, but her actions speak loud and clear. ň

Random Event: 79
The strangest part of the week wasn't anything any of us did—it was the Walkers. They've been… gone. At least, we haven't seen as many as we usually do. It's like they've disappeared. I don't know if they've moved on or if something else is happening, but the streets are quieter than they've been in days. It's unsettling. On the one hand, we've had a bit of a break, but on the other, it feels like the calm before the storm. I don't like it. Not one bit.

Honestly pretty good results all things considered. Don't really blame the ones rolling low. Kenny it's just bad circumstances in town. Kat trying to convince Larry but stubborn. Larry wants to slow down but the situation and stubborn. Everyone else did great. Clem being awesome as always. Duck actually learning first aid. Lily trying and getting people on the same page. Carley always being useful. Though the Walkers not around our area but still causing trouble in Macon might need to be watched.

Radio News: Turn 1
"You're listening to Radio Apocalypse, where the world is ending, but the news never stops. We've got reports flooding in from all over, and it's not looking good, folks. Buckle up, because here's what's happening in your corner of hell."

Atlanta
"First up, Atlanta. If you're there, I'm sorry. The city's been overrun. Completely. Walkers are everywhere, and there's no sign of the National Guard. Survivors? They're either hiding or dead. If you're in the area, get out now—while you still can."

Macon
"Macon's holding on, but it's on shaky ground. The military presence there is small, and resources are running thin. They've still got some defenses up, but it's only a matter of time before the cracks start showing. If you're in Macon, don't get too comfortable. This calm won't last."

Savannah
"We're still piecing together the situation in Savannah. Let's just say… things aren't looking great. Civil war's broken out between Crawford and the National Guard, and the city's tearing itself apart. If you thought Walkers were the biggest threat, think again."

Crawford
"Crawford. Oh boy. Talk about bad news. We've been hearing rumors about what's going on there, and it's ugly. Real ugly. These folks are ruthless, tearing through the city, grabbing whatever they can. And get this—they're not just after supplies. No, they're looking for power. I'd steer clear of those maniacs if I were you."

National Guard in Savannah
"The National Guard is still hanging on in Savannah, but just barely. They've managed to hold some key positions, but their numbers are thinning. Word is, they're being pushed back by Crawford forces. If you're looking for a way out, they might be your best shot—but don't expect them to come to you. You're on your own."

Federal Government
"Now, here's where things get interesting. The remnants of the federal government are still kicking around. We've got reports that a new President's been sworn in—Samuel Collins, the former Secretary of Labor, and has started to rebuild the administration with who is left. He's also apparently condemning Operation Cobalt, whatever the hell that was. It sounds like the military isn't too happy with how things have been handled, but at this point, it's hard to tell who's really in charge."

Radio Apocalypse
"And finally, let's talk about us—Radio Apocalypse. We've been listening, watching, waiting. We've got eyes and ears on the ground, and trust me, things are only going to get worse. But we're not going anywhere. As long as there's someone out there listening, we'll keep bringing you the truth. The apocalypse may have come, but we're still here to guide you through the end of the world."

"That's the news for now, folks. Stay alive out there. Radio Apocalypse, signing off—for now."

AN: Due to having little idea on how the rest of the country is doing you cannot see the rolls

Very nice rolls. The kids are learning how to help around and survive, which is gonna come in hand eventually.
Lily being friendly to the group is great for her. As one of the leaders, it does her no good to be on bad terms with the people she needs to make listen to her. Also, making friends is a good way to deal with stress.
Carley being a good help all around is not surprising. It's nice to know we can always count on her.
Kenny failing the scout mission is a bummer, but not a big deal, specially with the walkers being quiet for now.
Larry's health is the biggest concern for now. If he kicks the bucket, Lily's mental health is gonna take a nose dive. As much as I'm not a fun of the guy, we should probably see what we can do to prevent that.

Tales From Savanah Issue 1: A Failed March
A Failed March

(Jack POV)

Savannah, Georgia was once thought to be a bastion against the end of the world, a place that could weather the storm with its strategic port and rail lines. It was supposed to be a proper staging ground for operations deeper into the mainland, where survivors could rally and rebuild.

But from where Jack was sitting, that plan had long gone up in smoke. Walkers were overwhelming some poor souls on the barricades, turning them into more of their own. Their numbers swelled like a cancer, and the once-hopeful whispers of Savannah's defenses were now drowned out by the groans of the undead.

And Crawford... well, the less said about that pit of putrid humanity, the better. What had started as a refuge for the strong-willed had devolved into something darker—survival at any cost, humanity long abandoned.

A noise from behind made Jack raise his head slightly. "You're late, Molly."

"Yeah, well, moving around isn't exactly easy these days. You got the goods?" Molly asked, her eyes darting around the dark alley as if the shadows themselves were ready to lunge.

Jack reached into his pack, producing two weeks' worth of insulin. "It wasn't easy. The horde zones are getting worse. I had to go through three of them just to find this stash."

Molly nodded, her eyes lingering on the vials. "Crawford can see which way the wind's blowing. He's got the walls, the stockpiles, and the men. His offer's still open, though it's more like a prison sentence than a deal."

Jack's jaw tightened at the mention of Crawford. "He shot down my helicopter, Molly. Shot it out of the sky like it was target practice. Why would I ever trust him? The man knows if I ever get him in my sights, I'll kill him. Even if it's the last thing I do on this earth."

Molly smirked slightly, though there was no humor in her eyes. "So that's why he doesn't go near the walls anymore."

Jack nodded, his expression grim. "That coward stays tucked away behind his fortress while the rest of us fight for scraps. But if he thinks that means I'm just going to roll over? He's got another thing coming. I've already lost too much to let that bastard win."

Molly shifted her stance, glancing down at the insulin. "Jack, Hilda thanks you for all the work you're doing to help her. You're keeping her alive."

Jack's eyes softened for a moment at the mention of Hilda, but the edge in his voice remained. "If you think I'm going to tell you where the rest of the stashes are, think again. The Guard's already taken their pound of flesh in exchange for safety. If Crawford wants more, he's going to have to pay for it."

Molly smiled, that same calculating look in her eyes. "I wasn't asking. Besides, I know better than to push my luck with you."

She tilted her head. "Got anything to drink?"

Jack reached into his pack again and pulled out a bottle of Lagunitas. He handed it over without a word. Molly took a long swig, savoring the taste of something that, for a moment, brought a bit of normalcy to the chaos surrounding them.

"Thanks," she said, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. "I'll see you around, Jack. Just... don't do anything stupid."

Jack watched her go, the weight of Savannah's collapse settling deeper in his chest. The failed march towards salvation had ended in this—scrambling for scraps, alliances built on lies, and the constant, gnawing threat of death at every turn.

He took one last look at the barricades in the distance, where the Walkers continued to gather.

"For a moment of safety, we let damnation loose," Jack muttered to himself, before turning back to his camp.

"Jack…do you think we'll make it?" Molly asked.

"Nope." You said smiling. "Crawford's gonna drag the whole city down with him before he goes, its a matter of when now."

-------------------------------

Captain Stevenson, the guy in charge of what was left of the Guard at the Marsh House, looked at you with a small smile. "My offer still stands."

"I think you're doing just fine on your own boss, the street barricade looks solid looking, moved the old shipping containers?" You asked.

"Hmm, old Semi-truck storage boxes, easier to move. It's not much but, you know how it is, every little helps." He said. "Boarded up really good with what we could find."

"Key strong points are in the windowless rooms or second floor?" You asked.

"And have easy escape routes, it might not look pretty, but we'll hold for a little while." He said. "Civies have some requests given your skill set."

"Make a grocery list, and I'll point out where to go or deliver." You said. "Molly's thinking about dipping but can't exactly leave because of her sister and a few others are having second thoughts."

"Figures... Guess ole Crawford shooting that Helicopter didn't do him no favors." Stevenson said.

"He's a wasteful idiot, that just proved it, he'll hold them tight if he gets some wins but you know it goes when the dead walk." You said.

"Ain't nothing guaranteed." He said. "Stay safe Jack, god knows its a hard enough thing to do."

AN: A look into that mess in Savannah using my OC that was approved by the boss,

Got some lore from the boss.

Turn 2
The Sun once again rises on the new world. Last week was hard but at last the group had some kind of proper leadership. The news from the radio made everyone worry you can tell but at least there is some kind of government still out there. And Kenny and Lilly are more friendly to each other which is nice. Hopefully this week goes as well as the last.

Pick 1 option from each category!
[] Safeproofing for Dummies
DC Variable
You and the guys have made some basic defenses but they could be better after all you've seen what those walkers could do and how easily they got into the pharmacy.

[] Hunting Season!
DC Variable
You have food but it won't last for too long so it would be a good idea to go hunting. Hopefully, the walkers didn't scare every animal away.

[] Monster Hunting
DC Variable
Alright Walkers are not anywhere near you right now but that can change fast. Being proactive and going out to thin the hoards could be a good if risky idea.

[]Walls, and Watchman
DC: 50
The Motel is a solid piece of property, but with some walls and a makeshift watchtower it can be more defendable, if nothing else.
[] Hey there!
DC Variable
Going around the motel and networking with the others could be a good idea. You all have to work together till the army comes after all.

[] Hang out with Clem
DC 0
You are taking care of a little girl and you think you are doing a good job but you barely know her. Having a chat with her will help remedy that. Who knows you might even learn something new.

[ ] Back to class!
DC Variable
Duck and Clementine are missing some essential lessons. Teaching them math and English should help them out in a long run. Maybe you will add some history lessons in there too.
[] What we got
DC 20
Lilly says we have enough food and medicine to last us for months. You believe her but double-checking is important too. Convincing her to let you check should be easy...

[] Guns, Gas, and the Goods they Power
DC 35
Hitting the Walkers at the range is important, and from what you've seen, bullets work the best, gas powers the generators, heats the house, and powers the cars, best to see how much of it you have.

[] Radio and Batteries
DC Variable
With everything going on, and how bad things are going, it's probably a good idea to find or at least stock up on those old portable radios or at least batteries. There should be some in the wrecked cars...

[] Building Supplies and other shopping lists
DC ???
The Supplies that you have are plentiful, but they won't last forever, and even so, repairing things takes time.
[] What people know...
DC Variable
You are a killer and some people know. Larry is among them but is keeping his mouth shut. Carley knows but is willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. Clem might know... But are they the only ones? You need to find out.

[] Macon´s Last Stand
DC ???
So what's left of the National Guard and Military in Macon is holding on a Handhold, maybe we should get them an out and some help. That is if they don't panic and shoot at you. Hopefully finding them will be easy.

[] The Missing Walkers
DC ???
Walkers don't just up and Vanish into thin air, not when there is noise and people to find and eat. This is a mystery that needs solving before it turns into something that's hell.

[] Macon's Bacon
DC Variable
The Macon Bacon General Store and Grocery Plaza, you've got good memories here, and it seems like a good spot to get supplies from there is only one problem. Everybody else in Macon must have the same idea! But checking the place out may still be worth it.

[] These old roads
DC 20
Mapping out the surrounding area may be useful if you need to leave the motel quickly or get back to it.
[]Hunting and Fishing 101
DC???
Duck and Clem are a lot of things, young and impressionable. They also need to learn to pull some of the weight. Basic Small Game snares and fishing skills should help.

[] Old House Rocks
DC ???
Macon had a School with old supplies, chemistry sets, books, and more which while not essential will be useful in setting up some basic research base.
[] A Helping Hand
DC Variable
Others have ideas on how to help the group survive too but some of them can't do it alone so you will help out.
Reward: Lee will become a hero unit for a random survivor for this turn.

[]Water, Water Everywhere.
DC ???
Clean water is essential, but any source is better than nothing, even if we need to boil it first.

[] Hunting party 101
DC 40
Hunting and gathering is a job as old as time to get good at it and catch some food. Teaching others how to hunt is more important right now
Council Actions
Council actions require a majority vote. Each councilor will weigh in at the end of each action.
[ ] Plans for the Future
DC:
35
Things are going well. Short term that is. We were running on the assumption that the Army would show up and clean up the mess but with the radio message it looks like that won't be happening. At least for longer than we thought. So we need to plan out the future. Just in case.
Kenny: "Sure. But I am telling you Lee the army will come."
Lilly: "A smart idea Lee."
Carley: "Yeah better be prepared than sorry."

[ ] Organize a Supply Run to Macon
DC: Variable
Supplies are running low, and Macon might still have what you need. It's a risk to go back into the city, but staying here without enough resources is an even bigger risk.
Kenny: "We need food. I say we go."
Lilly: "I'm not comfortable with sending a group into Macon right now."
Carley: "It's dangerous, but I agree it's necessary."

[ ] Strengthen Perimeter Defenses
DC: 55
The motel's defenses are decent, but they could be better. Reinforcing the perimeter could buy you time if the Walkers—or worse, hostile humans—decide to show up.
Kenny: "We should focus on this before anything else."
Lilly: "I agree. Defenses come first."
Carley: "Let's make sure we're secure here."

[ ] Send a Team to Investigate Savannah
DC: 85
There have been rumors about a civil war in Savannah between the National Guard and some group called Crawford. It could be important to know what's happening there, but sending a team would be extremely dangerous.
Kenny: "Are you crazy? We don't need to go anywhere near Savannah."
Lilly: "Absolutely not. It's suicide."
Carley: "We're not ready for that kind of risk."
