Ouroboros Labyrinth: Starting Life Again From Zero As a Labyrinth (Re/Zero/Multicross with Subaru as a Dungeon Core Quest)

You woke up in a black void. Panic filled you as got up and began to look around in a panic. No, no! You shouldn't be here yet! You didn't even die yet! You shouldn't be able to meet her yet! But as you kept looking around, your heart pounding as your mind scrambled to understand why you were here in this void where she resided. Shadowy arms wrapping around you like a hangman's noose as her repeated claims of love flooded your eyes like a deluge, you eventually began to notice something.

She... She wasn't here. No feelings of an obsessive love that crushes you, no words that kept repeating non-stop. No arms wrapping around you, and no force pulling you back into the last checkpoint. None of those things were here, all that was here was just you. Alone.

You would think that it would bring you comfort but no, if it anything it just worsened it as you began to panic, your breathing becoming heavy and erratic as your eyes darts everywhere, trying to find some sort of threat around here, being reminded of Todd Fang. As you did, you overlook your memories to see if there was anything you can pick up from them.

Your name is Subaru Natsuki. You were a regular person who was on his way home from the local convince store, when you found yourself in another world. And find yourself on a new life filled with ups and downs, with the downs being more numerous thanks to Return By Death.

From what you last remember you....

You heard a small groan. snapping to see your contracted and cute Spirit, Beatrice, or Beako as you called her sometimes, next to you, unconscious. Needless to say, you were quick to her side, checking over her and trying to wake her up, as it seems thankfully, she was still alive, though his attempts of waking her up was futile so far, but he had to wake her up, maybe she knew what was going.

"She won't have the answer you seek." A voice stated, causing Subaru to turn around, trying to find it. "But I do, Mr. Natsuki. Please, allow me to introduce myself." And then, something appeared as though it was always there.

You stared at the thing in front of you. Your mind trying to describe it.

The closest thing you can say if someone made a teu teru boze gothic with a black feather robes and a cracked stone helmet.


"Greetings. Allow me to introduce myself. I am your Patron; you can refer to me as Pleiades. A pleasure to meet you and your unconscious friend." The figure introduce himself, hand on his 'chest' and giving a bow.

You are so confused by this as you tried to process what is going, and Pleiades noticed, giving an embarrassed chuckle. "Sorry, I didn't intend to jump this on you. I should have been aware of your confusion." He then snapped his fingers, and you found yourself on a chair and Beatrice sleeping on a comfy bed. "Let me explain things, if you don't mind." Pleaides began his explanation of his purpose and what Labyrinth was.

So, to sum up Labyrinths, they are essentially Dungeons from the anime and games you read, created with the purpose of advancing civilizations they come across. Patrons were basically 'sponsors' so to speak. Providing Labyrinths were a variety of benefits depending on them. And you have one offering you to become a Labyrinth. For your benefit as well as his.

However, you hesitated to accept his deal. Something was up, and you weren't sure what it is yet, and you asked why, why do this to you? Even with what you had done, you still didn't believe you were able to get off without others, so why you? Why not Julius? Emilia-Tan? Hell, Reinhard was a better choice.

The figure stated silent, before you could ask again, Pleiades 'smiled' at you, and simply said one thing. Just one, but one that surprise you.

"Because you are the one I trust to be able to achieve great things." That was all he said, but it was enough to convince you somehow. Was it because of pride or not wanting to disappoint anyone? Regardless, you accepted it, hopefully to return home with your friends and maybe even your parents. Maybe it was too much, but it was always best to hope.
The Deal set, and you were converted into a new being, with Beatrice joining you as Pleaides assured you, she will be with you as a helper. Just like always, you thought with a smile as you fell into sleep as Pleaides bid you good luck and when you wake up, you would find yourself somewhere new, and ready to begin.

Welcome to a new attempt at a dungeon core quest starring Subaru Natsuki as a Dungeon Core inspired by Labyrinth of Refrain/Galleria and other stuff with the help of my awesome friend @Kalibrius. I am going to improve where my last attempt was but going to try and return to that one when I can, same with my other Re:Zero quest which will probably be before the Labyrinth of Colombia quest. Also, if you are curious for the Mature Flair, it is for the both the usual sex stuff that may happen, and mostly because of the usual Re:Zero horror, both mental and otherwise.

Bio:
A young man who has been sent to another world where he experienced such trials and tribulations that describing them will be short. Regardless of the scars left upon by them, he is a person who moves forward with his ability and curse, Return By Death, using its ability to return back to a certain point at time with every death to prevent that happening again. For unknown reasons, he and his contracted Spirit have found themselves in a void where a deal was made with an entity known as Pleaides who would help them return in exchange for becoming a labyrinth. Once more, Subaru will start life from Zero once more.
