People use it to fuel weapons.
And you… You ARE the weapon.
A cute weapon. But a weapon none the less.
The cold chill that runs through your body interrupts your tangent, and you mutter a silent thanks to your void core. Eyes watching the half speed world as you breathe out slowly.
Your breath mists. A thick plume of crystal white.
Cold air enters your lungs. And you focus.
Not on your Void Core.
Not on your Chrono Core.
But on the both of them…
Elly said that Primitive magic is built on Intent. A battle of Will against Logic.
'I've not actually said that.'
You ignore Elly. She doesn't remember it right.
There's an amused sound, but that gets pushed out of your mind too.
Step one. Envision your cores.
Your Chrono Core. The cracked, broken sundial. A large stone with a glowing purple crack through its center.
A shadowy hand pointing out the flow of time. The speed. The angle. The way time navigates through space to affect the world around you.
The hand slowly moves. Moves at half the speed it should be moving at. Just like the world.
Your Void Core. A room of mirrors. Of Light. Of mirrors with blurry reflections now that the light has died down as far as it has.
Space is harder to manipulate with it as low as it is. A more solid boundary around you. A less malleable one.
Step Two, Visualize what you want.
A hand reaches out, metaphorical, maybe physical. And you reach for the shadowy hand of your Chrono Core.
A second reaches out, physical, maybe metaphorical. And you reach for the lights in your Void Core.
Space is full of Energy.
Energy power Time.
Time leads to Space.
Step Three, Remove all distractions, crystalise the image as clearly as you can.
The heat of your Chrono Core disappears.
The cold of your Void Core disappears.
The crunch of snow, the shaking of trees, the howling of the wind, They all disappear.
Your bubble disappears. Knowledge disappears. The world disappears.
You don't need to focus on it. You don't need to focus on anything.
But this.
Focus on this.
It's stupid, to close your eyes in a fight.
It's stupid, to experiment against a powerful opponent.
Every instinct in your body, built up from so many fights, tells you that you shouldn't do this.
Not now. Not yet. Not ever.
Yet… At the same time… those instincts tell you to push.
To press against the barrier of logic. Of what is right.
For that is what you fight for. And sometimes, that means doing what is Wrong, to do what is Right.
So your image crystallizes. You want, to push the energy in your Chrono Core, into your Void Core.
To Fuel it. To Empower it. To give it what it needs to do its job. To turn Time into Space.
Step Four. Will.
You'd huff in amusement if your mind wasn't so focused.
The one thing you've never lacked.
The one thing that's helped the least in the many, many failures you've suffered.
What does Will matter in a fight against that which overpowers you?
What does Will matter when blood stains all those around you?
What does Will matter when you're left alone on that hill? To see that tree with all those you call allies bleeding.
What does Will matter when everything you care for is just an illusion to mask the many sins you bear…
Exhaustion leaks in… exhaustion from who knows where. From one loop. From two… from one too many…
The world leaks back in. Trying to crush you. To crush your Will.
Why fight? Why keep trying? Why push for that future you want, when you've seen just how impossible it is to achieve?
The doubt is pushed away. Claws of will tearing it to pieces.
There's one thing you have, no matter what the world takes from you.
And that's Will.
Your Core's roar as snow starts to glitch around you.
Tiny specks of icy blue light that mix with purple.
Snow changes. Becomes water, Becomes ice, Becomes crystal.
Becomes steam.
Becomes energy
The lights in your Void Core brighten, as the shadows in your Chrono Core fade.
Your hand twitches as you push that energy into it.
Not Void. Not Chrono. But Energy.
Raw. Unfettered. Uncontrolled.
Just aimed.
A hand reaches out of the ever expansive mirror in your Void Core. And you take it, without hesitation, without doubt. A willful step towards a future you've created.
For Better.
For Worse.
For the goal of Ending this before anyone gets hurt.
Your form shatters. Shards of dimension, of energy, of space, scattering in all directions as you appear right in front of the Huntress.
Time accelerates to normal speed. A jarring transition, not smooth like it normally is.
Your cores grind to a halt. A pain that thunders in your chest like your nerves burning and freezing at the same time in excruciating detail.
But. You thrust your hand forward.
Black lightning thunders forth. Edged in white, edged in rainbow.
Edged in concepts rather than things.
A simple concept. One everyone understands.
Even you.
Finality appears on that bolt. And it crashes through the Huntresses chest in a thunderous crack.
A crack louder than thunder, with a reverb of shattering crystal. Mixed with ash.
It booms in your ears. In the ears of every single thing in this dimension as space visibly warps around your bolt. As time visibly warps around your bolt.
As the concept of Energy crashes into the huntress and flings it to the ground, turning it to dust upon impact.
Such that there's nothing left. Not even a speck of a speck.
Your arc down continues. And despite the raw exhaustion that floods your body, Curtana snaps into your hands.
Something shifts as you land. And instead of a hard crash, you're just there. On the ground. As if you'd always been there, not even disturbing the snow under your feet.
…It's weird… but not that odd.
You take a breath… and promptly feel your body sway the slightest amount.
…Maybe that thing, whatever you did with the lightning… drained you way more than you thought.
A mental call to your cores gets no response… an annoyingly familiar situation now.
And, well…. You doubt even Murphy knows how many more times this'll happen.
He probably tries, but you doubt even future seers can see where your future will end up.
A glance at the magical girls has Azure over by Argent, leaning into her and muttering while the Red looks down at her hand.
…You'd like to intervene… or at least join the conversation…
But something tells you this isn't something for you to interrupt.
So, you pick a tree. And settle in against it.
Your Bubble'll tell you if someone gets close.
You take a breath, of cold, chilling air… and breathe out white as reality cracks around the rift.
That should alarm you… but Elly doesn't say anything, and you trust her when it comes to stuff like this.
The rift cracks, breaks, and all at once, just vanishes.
You're left leaning on the wall of a building. Azure and Argent are still together, though can tell that Argent's a little tenser for the briefest of moments before she calms.
She looks up at Azure, a fragile expression on her normally happy face.
An expression you don't recognise. An expression you do. An expression you ha-
And it's gone. She smiles at you. A bright wide smile. That reassures you that everything is okay.
…Something cracks a little… somewhere.
And you let Purple's visage take over as you give the girls a bit of a curtsey.
Any other time, perhaps you'd have stuck around for what probably would be Argent praising you.
Or maybe to watch Azure stutter out her thanks or something…
But… the exhaustion hits you hard…
Bones lead. Muscles tense and sore. Core's stopped in place in a painful feeling like two weights you struggle to lift.
Paper flutters, a stopwatch edging the pages in what you assume is one of Elly's many flourishes to your mundane things… like how your smoke became purple at some point.
You still haven't figured out how Elly did that… or why?
A promise to Argent that you'll meet them some other time.
And then a second that you need to give her a real fight the next time you meet.
She smiles at you… yet you can tell that something is just the slightest fraction off about it.
Something miniscule. Something you'd never notice in most other cases…
But. Well…
Time looping shenanigans and stupid honed instincts….
Argh… it'd be so easy to ignore this if you didn't see it…
It's like seeing a book that's just slightly not pushed in enough on a perfectly arranged bookcase…
One more piece of your pad lands in front of Argent as you hop onto the roof. A simple offer. One she gave you not too long ago.

Not one they know everything about. But one who can give them an opinion that isn't what they want to hear, but what they have to hear.

Clearing a Tier 6 and not taking a Crit is quite the achievement~ Even if it was kinda done though a bunch of luck and MaGi BS~ Still a worthy achievement and one to be rewarded~
