Gotta say, I'm really excited about this whole thing. I came into this thread initially a little apprehensive, because I wasn't sure what direction it was going to go - it's intensely variable based on who got selected, and I wasn't totally certain I'd want to stick around for a few of them.

But this? The Gunslinger? And a perfect opening section for making it a Western? Oh hell yeah. We're gonna be flexing the fuck out of that Immortality. Especially since Solomon here is exactly the kind of 'Good Man' you want as a warrior of god. Someone who'll step out on a limb for a dream, and when it kills him he'll take the scum down with him. That angel's just given him the ability to get back up after the fall.

Insofar as this is very much being positioned as the holy assassin, and going from a few different variants of the canon names...

I would point out. That gives you no protection from environmental effects like "Being in the inner sanctum of a Chaos God", it just means they can't actively attempt to hurt you or twist you unless you break the laws of hospitality first.

It also does not give you immunity from getting Influenced, just that they can't actively try to brainwash, twist, or attack you in any way during that window.

hey @Maugan Ra remember the trip to the Queen's Spire

That is... quite the Deathlord. Makes perfect sense, it must be said? Of course the Deathlord's in this would be, well

those born of the everdead and neverdying power of the Emperor.

Leman has a really good vibe here, tho.

I'm not too sure this is Leman Russ;

A giant in pale plate, his face hidden behind a snarling wolfshead helm, a great cloak of frozen fur hanging from his back and gnawing at his arm.
and you think the eye on his chest is staring at you now, judging you and finding you wanting

That, plus the way he's talking, his choice of words and how he presents the deal leads me to think that's a different Primarch;

I do really like the idea of the Star Child being like the Emperor's love and memories of Horus or what was left of Horus' mortal soul or whatever

The point is, if you decide to try bargaining with Slaanesh in their face, you shouldn't be surprised to find yourself a thrall when they hit you with Appearance: Yes backed social influence from something with such absurd sensory abilities as to border on mind reading. Convincing you of something is not an attack, and Third Edition was very clear to draw the line between Social Influence and an actual mental attack (The latter is Psyche keyworded)

But that's neither here nor there, what we got instead was John Hartigan from Sin City but in Space, and our Deathlord is apparently Ghost Horus who regrets his poor life decisions, and I am all for this.

no, I know, you just reminded me of a moment from the Exalted game I run for Maugan (and Omi and Emeralis), where their diplomatic meeting with a faery queen took them through an incredibly lethal wildzone. They HAD environmental defense available, but if they hadn't, they'dve been a funny fleshpuddle when they arrived~

Slaanesh having Appearance so high it breaks the game would be a form of magical influence, though. Like, if a GM tried to pull that I me, I wouldn't find it funny. Antagonists do need to obey the rules of the game, giving someone an infinite dice pool isn't kosher.

All good, honestly, I've been trying to build up the courage to run something myself, maybe the flow of this story'll give me that push to make something work.
