i keep saying it - my primary motivations for this quest are 1) shooting klansmen and 2) giving planters a wedgie, and this plan lets me do both? kind of a no-brainer tbh

I like that.

Is the border redrawing not an option? I think it would greatly help this plan to designate some areas as safe from white supremacy and make them states to create stronger reconstruction governments to oversee the changing economy. We could also draw black majority states where freedmen will do the bulk of the stabilizing.

Strike hard, strike fast, strike before the US gets tired and eepy; we're on a timer. Unionist+abolitionist volunteers are better used as paramilitaries or support once the hammer falls, hopefully we get a follow-up.

Much as I want to press the overwhelming force button, insurgencies thrive in these conditions. Getting fusionist political structures off the ground is almost as essential for Reconstruction's ultimate success as the economic reorientation.
