[X] Learn more about the pair
-[X] Mention that what Wendy smelled was likely the Rot, discreetly, of course.
The only respectable Omen has entered the stage.

It's possible that Malenia has never learned about Morgott. He appeared to rescue Leyndell after the Shattering, facing Radahn in battle, and Malenia must have passed nearby, but I don't think there is any mention of them facing each other in battle or meeting each other.

I would like it if Malenia could spend some time with Morgott. They would have a lot to share. Fairy Tail can wait.

Ranni gives a prim nod in response, though her gaze flickers past Malenia once more.

Ok, is she looking at if the rot is ok with it or what?

Because that's a the main thing that comes to mind for having her look over our shoulder, her being able to see the Rot and watching its reactions.

"Ranni and I share the same father, though we are of different mothers,"

Technically, you both also share a mother in Marika, it's just that Ranni only has her on the father's side and you have her on both.

Crusader kings players would kill for that kind of family tree, I'm sure.

So it is that, a scant few days after their encounter, Malenia obtains a harp. A small thing that she can carry in her arms like a babe, producing clear notes with every strum.

And this is how half the bards of the continent found themselves out of a job, their public not accepting anything less than Malenia's perfect music.

The other half converted to pure songs instead.

"My brother was on duty when it came in! And it had a girl hostage, too!"

Ten bucks the monster was the hostage and not the girl.

Malenia has no words to describe her surprise at what she sees. Ragged leather clothes, torn in various places to reveal dark grey skin bearing notable veins. On top of that a spiked, bony tail that complements the horns sprouting from one side of the head.

Second family reunion?

And he stands notably taller than Malenia even while hunched.

You know, maybe we should have insisted on playing Rykard, at least we would be the one looking at people from above that way.

a mane of luscious hair as deeply blue as the sea follows her every step, each motion fluid like that of a predator. Her gait puts Malenia on edge, but the girl's soft and open expression releases that tension moments later.

You really love giving Wendy unusual company.

As long as she doesn't begin growing horns…. :V

[] Strike Morgott down

*Avoid fratricide with Ranni*

*Immediately get the option proposed again*

I am hoping for Morgott to let it slip he is Malenia's brother.

I have to say, the general love for Morgott surprised me, both at the start of this story and now. But after thinking over his character, I am definitely part of that group.

Where else would the big guy adopt a child? All the others are spoken for in one form or another :V

Honestly, poor Morgott, guy tried to uphold the Leyndell on his own and was doing the best he could, but sadly that was never enough

I have some sympathy for Morgott, but the order he tried to uphold was one that kept stuffing people like him into sewer prison, possibly including him pre fall.
He is a tragic figure, not only for his failure, and the failures of his family, but also for his goals and inability to escape the past his parents and society had pushed upon him.

I do wish he can find a better life in this new world, without golden order, or dictatorial gods, or his dead father trying to cling to the past to a point where the whole world is slowly rotting for it, or his siblings tearing it apart.

*Note the lack of details about her growing horns*

Suspicious. :V

I also wonder if Ranni will tell Malenia of the fact that Morgott is their sibling, she is more informed of these kind of things than miss *Slept through an age*

I looked into it and as far as i can tell there is no evidence of Leyndell and the Haligtree fighting at all in the Shattering

At least he met Wendy and became her father figure.

Also he might have to contend with the evil that is the Black Wizard Zeref and his creations, the Etherious.

No participation awards in the kinslayer games. :V
Actually, did anyone but Ranni (by hiring someone else to do it) manage to actually kill anyone of Marika's kids?
Like, even Godrick, the runt of the litter, is still doing fine* once the Tarnished rolls around.
Would Miquela count?

* For some very, broad, definitions of "fine".

Thing is, anyone who died during The Shattering would not be someone we hear about. The only demigods who are not also Shardbearers we know, off the top of my head, are Godwyn (assassinated), Ranni (plotting), and Godefroy (incarcerated in an Evergaol on the Altus Plateau).

For all we know, there could have been another ten members of the Golden Lineage that all died during the war and were basically forgotten. Marika and Radagon also could have had more children together than just Malenia and Miquella. Likewise, Radagon and Rennalla could also have had more than the three we know; although I am somewhat convinced there were no others on their end.

Ultimately, we do not know this for certain. One can suspect in either direction. Personally, I think there must have been at least some more in the Golden Lineage. Unlucky or foolish, and forgotten by history.

Personally, I think there are more in the golden lineage (Godrick is the runt of the litter, and there are strong indications he is a distant descendant, not a direct one), but no other child of Marika, as they are too important to not have any mentions anywhere by their very nature.
