I don't think we need to overthink this. Not too much, at least. None of the details of the horse riders are alluring enough to ignore the more exotic choices, to me, so:

Funnily enough, this one was one I misread and thought was a typo when I was proofreading, and added the 'and'. The interjected bit threw me, separated it with dashes instead of commas for easier (imo) reading.

If we had 5 apples instead of 4, I'd make a Write in to offer one to each spirit beast, but, yeah... giving one to each animal except one feels much more disrespectful than just picking one.
I assume the +2 xp total should be reflected here, in which case you missed it when updating the character sheet. Or is that simply the sum of the +1 to Charisma and +1 to Socialize?

Any xp gained for any attribute/skill/anything else also counts towards total experience. So because Charisma and Socialize formed the dice pool for haggling with the merchant, and one success was rolled, each gets 1 xp, which means 2 total experience.

I agree that ox-drawn super cannons sound awesome, but we're just trying to get our foot in the door here, and noticing who is on our side is more likely to "impress" all of these cultivators than anything else.
