[X] Refuse and switch the timeline
Welp, nice to know that the suicidal option actually was suicidal. Lets not pick the suicidal option next time shall we?

The City demands sacrifice, and it got it. At least we got a new morsel of information from it.

We were on a rooftop with the crate Rose was hiding in right? Street corner... so for 2 people that was enough acceleration to leave the building and go about 1-3 blocks, not even breaking line of sight. Or if not on a roof top, subtract the building bit.

This leaves me thinking Elena has her choice of meal regardless. We either choose or she chooses for us.

Well I have an idea
1.) Grab giano
2.) Jump
3.) Aim G ring at ground
4.) Yell T time at rose
5.) SCRAM

Good test of our limits (not Ciel's). But they can reach closer to the stars than this.

Literally, the entire point of the vote is this so let's just keep on going for it.

If this is the point where we're just trying stuff, then I think it's worth a shot to use the T-Corp device to speed us up enough that we can spam gale ring at Ms. Vampire. I mean regardless of how strong she is, she still weighs as much as a normal person, and regardless of how fast she is, she can't run if she's stuck in midair.

Basically, my plan is to pull a Breath Of The Wild stasis launch on her. What do you think? Worth a shot?

Overly relying on tool which purpose is preventing quest from crushing through reckless decisions sounds like abuse to me.
While it still a valid way to play this quest it leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

I get what you are saying here, and it was a big concern of mine too at the start to middle of this quest. But for this particular quest I think the fact that Ciel can jump timelines is already in-built into the decisions and votes, and Naron have ways of dealing with overt use of it (See: Ciel losing his arm in doing something dumb against Harry and Louis, and here where we face a potential ending).

I think the mechanic is doing its job to prevent players from only choosing safe choices, and Naron will let us know straight if he feels like we are abusing it too much (be it in narrative or OOC). In this case, it's not really much different from the story just switching timeline back and redoing the choice, just that here we have the option to end the quest here if we feel it's satisfactory.

Intuitively I would expect wind emitted by the ring to go back to a normal speed a very short distance away from Ciel. If so, Ciel using it repeatedly would look like a consistent stream of very strong wind for an outside observer, rather than a hurricane burst.

But it is a very interesting possibility, using the device for combat. If our reaction time is amped to match, then it's basically being the Flash for 5 real seconds. I don't suppose poking Elena for 1 hour with our Lucerne will work? Probably wouldn't want to touch her anyway...

Damn, guess we really should have flirted with Elena instead. :V

In all seriousness though, I just want to ask even if I think I know the answer already...how far would switching timelines take us back this time?

Back to the start of the Quest, obviously :V

Got it!

Alright everyone, I have a plan. We still befriend/romance Parvati but we get Ciel to try out that particular dish she likes and make him like it to, perhaps even make him a bit adventerous about it while hunting the Highlight Heroes! Then, when we see Elena again we can convince her there's much easier ways to get some good grub from personal expierence!

This can't backfire at all, I promise!

:D

You know what? I would not unironically like that idea. Always been a sucker for this kind of stuff.
Alas, I think I would be the only one.
Unfortunately, not for me.

There was one quest that iirc was recreated here in SV when it originated from another site. So much of the start of the quest was just the players choosing the exact same option as the other site, trying to catch up with the story and there was pretty much no discussion involved. Maybe they diverged at some point, but I was pretty much just checked out just reading the comments.

I like the idea of it too, to walk untread paths and maybe do better than before.

But what stops me from actually implementing something like this are two reasons. The first is that this would be too similar to The Purple Tear's power and I will not rip her off. The second is that I would throw nine months' worth of work (110k words) out the window.

I feel that something like this could work in a short-term story/Quest format, but not in a longer one.

I know some people want to attempt another shot at fighting Elena, or trying to run away with everyone if we jump timeline, but I don't see any of them working considering how it ended in this timeline.

Elena is just way too strong for any tricks that Ciel might try to pull. There will be a sacrifice here one way or another to satisfy her hunger.

This ending is Ciel sacrificing themself to let the other 2 get away. Jumping timelines would mean we reject their sacrifice here, and that will pretty much mean someone else will die instead. If the jump happens, I think it would be high time to discuss who will die in their place.

This is literally one of the votes last round.
[] Throw weapon at Elena. Pick up Giano. Grab Rose. Use the Galeforce ring and the T-Corp device to get out of there.

The problem comes with actually killing her instead of using it as a way for us to get away quickly.

Though it doesn't really matter now.

On Elena not having any mobility in the air:

I wouldn't count on that, she is not a light weight when it comes to fighting strength, and took two color level Fixers to stop the first time, she wouldn't have reached that level if all it took to stop her was making her feet leave the ground, someone would have done it far before Roland and his wife took care of her.
