[X] "Everyone in school knew Yumemi, she was Student Council President, because of course she was."
Thank you for pointing that outAlso, @WallFlower: Your vote is currently being counted separately from Edgedancer's; SV doesn't realize the parenthetical thing is just reiterating that it's the same as that other vote, and assumes it makes the two votes different. Arlequine might notice when looking at the final tally, but...she also might not.
Koyomi's not the one who wore a pretty dress to lunch, now is she?If you're referring to Yumemi as a witch, that's funny given it's Koyomi who's officially classed as one in-universe.
Yeah, "half-deconstruction" is a barely more legible term than /hj.Little confused by the term 'half deconstruction', especially since 'deconstruction' itself can be a nebulous term.
Ah, no, here's what I meant:Little confused by the term 'half deconstruction', especially since 'deconstruction' itself can be a nebulous term. But I think I sorta see what you mean in touching on how real-life details get affected
It's a fun character idea, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to mesh it with the person Yumemi is and her narrative role as the face of RUNE. I can think of some ways for a student-council-president-turned-infamous-delinquent-turned-magic-military-cop backstory to work, but they either trivialize the delinquent interlude or make Yumemi feel less like a good RUNE representative and more like someone who had a bunch of specific things happen to her, the last one of which dumped her in RUNE.[x] "Everyone in school knew Yumemi, she was Student Council President turned one of the Greatist delinquent in the city at the time, believe it or not."
This one's fun
Does that mean there's a Death somewhere ?Since Yumemi's Hanazakari outfit was inspired by Dream of the Endless (though with a bit of Daniel Hall given the white robes), it's all too fitting she'd be terrible at relationships.
How does somebody go about making a magical girl anime in a world where they exist but are a dwindling number? Like in this case, this sounds like a firefighter watching fireforce or promare, a bit divorced from the actual rules of reality."Oh yeah, that. Would still be cool if you'd at least show me that book," Miyako muttered, then said, "But don't worry, this was in that time just after the Frost Decade when anime was trying not to be too close to actual magical girl experiences."
If Frost Fair infiltration was such a big issue early on, I wonder how that affected business regulations.Doesn't this Forest try to create a new game console or restaurant or concert hall to suck up everyone's emotions first? That's how the Frost Fair did it."

Now that I think of it, it probably would be kinda like how GI Joe is a kid friendly version counter terrorism. So I think something like Pretty Cure would exist in a similar headspace rather than being purely fantasy. It being seen as a family friendly depiction of a very dangerous and complicated line of workWe discussed this a while back, and people had multiple opinions on how Mg media would be affected
Reading your "Miyako & Koyomi react to Shining Virtue Angelic Heart" omake over on A Little Vice, I can't help but wonder what CLAMP is doing in this universe.
They did put X/1999 on indefinite hiatus because of earthquakes in our 'verse…
Well, Yumemi is probably the next best thing there, yeah. She migth not be able to send you into the TV, but if you're enough of a super fan she can drag them out of your dreams into reality, at least to some extend. Maybe there won't be a Michael to make her a magical girl, but I guess we can add "actualize the regalia of her dreams" to the list of potential bribes for Miyako."What are you planning?" Koyomi instantly asked. "None I know of, but given what's within the scope of a Hanazakari's powers, going in and out of dreams for one infamous example, someone somewhere could be capable of that."
"I just thought, well, maybe you'd like to experience a world where Magical Girls have it better beyond just watching them. Well, relatively better. Since you've been through it all, you could even give the Saints some pointers," Miyako said.
"You're hoping Michael will make you a Magical Girl, aren't you?" Koyomi asked, Miyako blushing too much to given answer.

Good thing CLAMP doesn't often make public appearances…Sorry for the late reply, but this actually reminded me of a darker part of the backstory. One of the Frost Fair's tactics for intensifying emotions in people to drain was targeting celebrities. Although they usually went for more in-the-public figures like singers and actors than mangaka though. However, I'm obviously not going to list any real-life celebrity killed by the Frost Fair though, since that could risk getting tasteless fast.
Also, the reason I'd heard for X/1999's hiatus was that they couldn't find a publisher for it anymore, though both could easily factor in
I'm up to Episode 4, I've only seen Itsuki for a brief scene where she asks Erika to hand in the fashion club's membership list while surrounded by perfect lines of student council members.Miyako's backstory would also be relatively closer to Itsuki's due to gender issues, though with Miyako being explicitly trans.
I found them on Tumblr. And your post is actually the first I heard about new X/1999 covers
