its funny that if you remove short, you get my "Who are you calling SHORT?!" plan.

@TheOmnimercurial, whats with Servant Package - Extreme Modifications? is this a standard servant or one with extreme modifcations, I don't think you can have both.

The poster worried about 6 traits had me confuzzled, so I thought that Extreme Adaptions as a Servant covered that.

@Fission Battery
Can you clarify this for me please?

I wanted a Servant Race on Albion and believed Servant Package gave Parthenogenesis & Inf Lifespan? I also thought Extreme adaption meant 6 Traits was more stable while still being a Servant.

do I need to alter this to make it work?

I did the same for my Bombardier Beetle Race.

Edit:

Also most Beetles have Wing Casings to protect them while burrowing or fighting etc

So I would not need a Burrowing Trait for them would I?

Servant package: ageless, spawned from pools exclusively, and fanatically loyal to the Old Ones.

Light modifications: ageless, loyal, and spawn from pools, but capable of asexual reproduction and a greater degree of independent thought. This gives Parthenogenetic as a free trait.

Extreme modifications: age like any other creature, procreate through sexual reproduction with spawning pools supplementing their numbers, and loyalty impressed upon them during their upbringing.

There is no way to make species more stable.

Thank you for that! ^_^

I will edit it to be "Light Modifications" as thst seems most inline with my idea.

[X] Plan: Shadows of the Old Ones
-[X][BAS] Mantises
-[X][SER] Servant Package - Extreme Modifications (Free Parthenogenetic + Free Unaging)
-[X][TRA] Attuned to a Wind (Ulgu)(Free Witchsight)
-[X][TRA] Setules (Wall/Ceiling Sticking)
-[X][TRA] Keen Senses
-[X][TRA] Adaptable
-[X][TRA] Muscular
-[X][TRA] Dexterous
-[X] Name: Shadows
-[X] Physical Description: Mantises with more visible similarity to the Shadow Race of Babylon 5
-[X] Physical Location: Albion

I edited from Extreme Modifications to Light Modifications, as Extreme gets rid of the Unaging Inf Lifespan.

If you copy my edit or edit this change then it should be more effective.

We want a species that can win folks. These guys are everything we learned fron the Elves condensed into something better.

Or, how about, we go for Anti-Magic Muscles? We shut down the enemy's spellcasting, while still having magical attacks through rune items wielded by aforementioned Norscans?
That's something I see better fulfilled through a servant species. This is the base template for a golden child kinda species and magic just expands the scope of what they can do so much more.

I was musing about revamping the Amazons like this, styled as either Valkyries or ATLA's Kyoshi Warriors depending on whether they're a strength or dexterity build. They'd have the Living Waystone combo (Magic Resistance + Lightning Absorption) fluffed as natural runic tattooes, and their culture would discipline them to team up and face down monsters or evil magic.

Rearranged my votes by approval voting for the Titans, since that one has a decent chance to make it into the runoff.

[X] Plan: Mages HATE him

[X] Metal Dwarves v2
-[X][BAS] Hominid
-[X][SER] Non-Servant
-[X] Attuned to a Wind (Chamon)
-[X][TRA] Hardy
-[X][TRA] Mutation Resistance
-[X][TRA] Muscular
-[X][TRA] Short
-[X]Description: Dwarves, but even more attuned to the ores they work on than ever before, and the capacity to become even better builders & innovantors due to the mental impact of Chamon. The Arsenal of the Old One's Childen. The triple combo of Short, Muscular, and Hardy makes them excellent underground combatants, which is great considering Chamon & the location we would drop them in guiding their way into subterranean living.

Funny you should mention that, it's 50% of what I was planning on doing for R&R's culture vote: Have the Queen subspecies be an even more enhanced version, not just for spawning but also as the key to their afterlife. Runes would be inspired on constellations, and warriors offered up by the Queens+chosen by the Old Ones can be summoned back to life Seraphon style.

Really don't understand why people are so insistent on trying to input the canon races when the whole point of the quest is to create unique races. Like I get wanting the iconic main 3 but we literally just voted to add Elves just last turn. Meanwhile people are trying to add the Halflings, Ogres and Titans despite the fact that they already existed.

Why? Just why? If people want the canon races then why don't they just play canon Warhammer quest or read the canon Warhammer stories?

Because a lot of us came here specifically to see make entirely new and unique races. Not just completely redo canon for no real reason just because. Honestly it's getting to the point that I'm almost wishing that the QM bans adding more canon races since it defeats the purpose of the quest and is just retreading canon if people just vote to add canon races all the time.

The gist of the various "make canon" plans is "This, but without the flaws as I define them". Hence why the Skaven vote has them act more like Dwarfs. Hence why the Elves got tweaked to be slightly less arrogant pricks. It'd be like if we wanted to make Orcs and Goblins, but gave them the ability to make technology and have social interactions with other cultures.

There are people who still harp on about "Fixing the turtles", the majority of existing race/culture creation has been specifically to counter Chaos, is it not so surprising that the overriding consensus is fixing the source material?

[X] Plan: Good boy Skaven

[X]Plan Rise and Reign

Going with tactical voting, while I'd rather we go with a different name feels like this race is different enough to actually be more original than the other votes who are just copy pasting canon races. Seriously helps in that this race is actually made to the opposite of the canon Skaven culture wise and even having a template that actually makes them unique from them.

Same or the Rise and Reign plan.

That's honestly really annoying since it's still pretty much copy pasting canon races with little to no changes. And overall being as unoriginal as possible. Seriously, for example we could easily come up with a race that fulfills the role of the canon Ogres but actually making them original and unique.

@Fission Battery Would you please consider banning votes that are pretty much just copy pasting canon races and just overall banning the creation of canon races? Because really feels like it defeats the purpose of a creature creator quest if people are just recreating the canon races.

I'm not opposed for Skaven on principle of them being Skaven - in favor, actually, since "Forces of Destruction in Canon, Children of Old One here" switcharoo is fun. But as I've stated, my reasons for not voting the Skaven plan is due to its suboptimal trait combo of Magic Resistance + Mutation Resistance.

I'd rather Skaven keep Magic Resistance and replace Mutation Resistance with smth else - say, Dexterous to be "Speedy Rat Horde". Or keep Mutation Resistance and combo it with a spellcasting trait - say, Attuned to Ghyran since (per Lexicanum) it's a Wind that thrives in warmer climates and seasons which vibes well with Warm Adapted Skavens.

Plus Titans stronger than Canon with Magic Resistance is just, well, cool.

-[X][TRA] Magic Resistance
-[X] Name: Skaven
-[X] Description: Skaven are slightly less large than humans on average, with a tendency towards thin and almost gaunt builds. Properly groomed and fed, they look like sleek white furred rat-men or women, with shiny fur and long tails that can be theoretically used as whips (Not that this is common.)
-[X] Location: Araby

[X]Plan Wolves of the North
