Hmm, punishing them would be better because that would send a message. You don't mess with NCPD.

[X] Assist Captain Wei in weeding out the pests. (-5 faith)

[You have decided to reign in your rage and do this properly.]

Cpt Sandra Wei
NCPD Precinct 2, Night City

Captain Wei stared at the report in her hands with mountair despair and dismay, her face a stony mask that hid her crumbling resolve as she reread the contents once more.

Cpt. Sandra Wei
NCPD Precinct 2, Night City

We regret to inform you that we have denied your request for additional funds. While it is unfortunate that your precinct has been compromised, we, the city, have decided to allocate our resources for more crucial projects.

Nonetheless, we wish you luck in your endeavor to remove outside influences from you-

With a cry, the woman threw her datapad at the wall where it met the solid surface with a loud crack, nearly breaking the datapad in two pieces. She glared at the offending piece of scrap and was almost tempted to get out her gun and shoot it for good measure but the so-called 'resources' that her precinct had been allocated could only afford to give her half a magazine and in Night City? Every single bullet counts.

Her head fell into her hands and she tried to stave off the mounting headache that was already throbbing in her head, a frustrated sob threatening to spill out of her as her iron will, after spending so many years holding back the tide, began to crack and for what seems to becoming a regular occurrence, asked herself why in god's name did she ever decide to become a cop? She wished she could just go back in time, look at her younger self in the eye, and slap her across the face with her issued firearm and tell her to find another dream.

Then she thought of her officers, at least those who she actually are her officers and she knew that the reason they were still walking around was because of her. She fought tooth and nail to keep this precinct running despite all of its shortcomings, she made sure to personally ask them to take extra shifts but also ensured that they were given adequate time to rest and have at least something of worth on them when they went out on patrols and answering emergency calls. She couldn't let them down. She couldn't. She stared at her badge which sat on her desk, the symbol of NCPD depicted on the golden metal and she swore for a brief second that it almost seemed to glow under her lamplight but in a blink it was gone and after a brief moment of confusion, she felt her resolve swelling up.

If this fucking city won't let me do my fucking job, then I'll make fucking do.

Taking a deep breath, she quickly took hold of her emotions, strangled them and shoved them in a dark hole until she was sure she had the time and luxury to address them because now? Now she gets to work. She brings up her list of contacts and begins to sort through them for a name-Aha. Her eyes glow as she makes the call.

"Finally cashing in on that favor, Wei?" A surprised yet amused voice greeted her after the first two rings.

You stand before Captain Wei, your full glory bathing her office with your divine radiance but despite the presence of an alien god standing in her office, the woman was utterly oblivious to you, which you made certain of. No one shall see you unless you Will it. You watch as Captain Wei begins to make some calls to several people, cashing in favors that have been left to collect dust for years and bringing up the collection of documents, case files and reports from the past several years that she had requested from her men to start distributing the work among her trusted officers. Working with a fervor that only a zealot could ever match.

You are filled with approval and with a finger, you reach out and point at the high-ranking police woman and you grant her your blessing.

Cpt Sandra Wei
NCPD Precinct 2, Night City

Sandra Wei, Night City Native, the tiger mom of NCPD's Precinct 2 and its Police Captain stared at the now smaller but still very messy pile on her desk. Days after she made her first call that fateful night and hours after pulling another all-nighter for another day in a row and has made incredible progress since. The sun was beginning to rise behind her and the woman could not help but smile a tired but very satisfied and grim smile, despite the exhaustion that filled her very core, and her growing desire and need to rest and sleep, knowing that after all her hard work, she's managed to sniff out who the Posers in her precinct were.

One in every eight officers were hostile spies. It wasn't as bad as they all thought it would be but still confirms their worst fears, by the time they are done rooting out the moles, almost an entire quarter of manpower would be gone and their jobs are going to get a whole lot more difficult.

Fuck. Sandra Wei stared at the pile on her desk before her gaze caught sight of her badge once more. For the past few nights, she had taken upon herself to make sure that whenever she looked up from her desk, one of the first things she'd see was her badge and can't help but wonder once again if the golden light that she'd sometimes see was just her imagination or something else and like always, before she could think on it any more than she already has, something draws her away from her thoughts.

"Captain?" Wei looked up from her badge to see the questioning look of one of her officers. "I have the report you asked for." He held up the document in his hands before laying it out on her crowded desk. "Doing some paperwork yourself?" He asked, trying to make conversation.

It was thanks to her many years of service that she didn't just reach for her gun and shoot him dead right then and there. He wasn't one of hers, his file was buried underneath all the others. Fuck the files.

Wei took his report and set it aside from the pile which she quickly began to arrange into neat little stacks on her desk but made sure that he couldn't get a good look at their contents. If one of them ever suspected that she knew… "Yes, and I'm very busy, dismissed." She curtly replied, not even sparing him a second glance and was already forwarding a digitized copy of the files to her trusted men. She is going to scrub this place clean, no matter how long it takes and she'll make sure that like this ever happens again.

You very much agree with this sentiment. Perhaps you can help her somehow?

How will you help Captain Wei?

Directly revealing ourselves to Wei right now might undercut her determination, and only serve as a distraction at the moment. It's best to keep things subtle regarding her, right now. We should definitely get her on our side eventually, though.

You watch as Captain Wei took another sip of her coffee, the almost lethal amount of caffeine in her drink seemingly gave her just the tiniest bit of energy she needed to keep up with her work and in a sudden burst of inspiration, you waved a hand in the air and out of her sight, her cup began to glow. Just for a moment to not be noticed. You're not sure what blessing a cup of coffee would do but you're sure that it'll help her. You take your leave, unseeing the gobsmacked expression on Captain Wei's face when she took another sip of her coffee and nearly spat out at how… divine it suddenly tastes.

[Captain Wei's performance improves for the rest of the month. She is now terribly addicted to coffee. What have you done.]

It has been several days since you have left Captain Wei to her own devices but you have heard from Detective Montoya that she seems to have gotten a 'second wind' and is a whirlwind of activity that no one else has been able to match. You are pleased with this outcome, she will be a fine agent against corruption should she become aware of yourself but that will not happen for a while yet, you believe.

While the captain cleans up her precinct of infiltrators, you have decided to spread your influence in Little China, your limited being only able to reach up to a full city block, not much of a reach but a substantial one for a godling with your level of power and in a place like Night City? -Your senses flare as you feel a disturbance in your domain- A city block is just enough.

======================================================================

Slurp 'n' Crunch was a fairly new and somewhat popular convenience store and eatery that popped up in Little China back in '69. It didn't have much going on for it save for the really good deals and an abundance in some pretty preem goods from beyond Night City, one of its most popular products were these prepared meals that kept the food warm for up to 6 hours, great for any busy person with no time to make their own meals and in a place like Little China? There's a lot of busy workers with little time to cook, so needless to say, business was booming!

Booming enough for it to get robbed at least. The owner, Soichiro Hayabusa, a weathered man with a cybernetic eye, held his arms up in surrender as he, his only employee and several of his customers could only watch as they had their belongings and eddies taken by some punk with a gun.

"No funny business, chooms." The thug grinned, a young man with a haircut as dumb as his bare teeth, the barrel of his iron pressing against the temple of his hostage, an old woman who fearfully looked around for help, her eyes darting back and forth from the other patrons, begging to be saved, her aging limbs clutching the robber's arm around her neck in vain.

With a bag full of stolen money and belongings clutched in his offhand as his other hand kept his finger on the trigger in case some gonk decided to play hero, the robber was slowly backing up, making sure to take everything that was worth taking from everyone in the store, his bag getting fuller and heavier with each new thing added.

You appear just behind the Soichiro, your featureless face taking in the scene before you, watching the scene unfold. You can feel Soichiro's anger and indignation of being robbed in broad daylight, his desire to protect his customers from this criminal burning brightly inside him yet his weapon was out of reach. If you didn't do anything soon, the thief would quickly make his leave.

How will you deal with this situation?
