Loyal to the End : A Traitor Progenitor Chapter Master Quest

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment and I'm already there when I got no votes on mine.
Whether a plan has Duty over Glory is probably the biggest factor personally. A direct rejection of Perturabo's resentment and desire for recognition and glory is cool- even cooler for being taken so far as to be a flaw. Likewise, having strong ties to the Deathwatch has a lot of appeal- because its all about discretion with duty taking firm precedent over glory.

[X] Plan: We fight for Them, we die so they can live.
-[X]Flesh Within Flesh Without - The chapter values the training, upkeep and maintenance of their Emperor given Astartes flesh. The chapter Apothecaries are exceptionally skilled and the techmarines often follow the doctrine of the Mechanicus Genetors. (Bonus to healing injured Astartes, bonus to successful gene seed implantation and reduced neophyte death)
-[X]Iron Men - Part of the traditions to become a true member of the Chapter requires a marine to learn how to maintain, repair and, depending on personal talents; create new wargear.
-[X]Worship of the Omnissiah - They venerate the Emperor as the Omnissiah. (Bonus to Reputations with Mechanicus and their affiliates)
-
[X]Mortal Ties - The Chapter values the effort of mortal humans in service to the Imperium and maintains variable close ties to their mortal origins. (Small relationship bonus to various factions)
-
[X]Rejection of the Witch - Chapter doesn't have a Librarius, relying on a non-psyker body to fulfill the chronicler aspect of the chapter body as laid out in the Codex Astartes. (Relationship Malus with the Adeptus Astra Telepathica, combat bonus against Psykers)
-
[X]Deathwatch Penance - The Chapter has sworn an oath to pledge a certain fraction of their active battle brothers, thirty veterans, to the numbers of the Deathwatch (Bonus to Relationship with the Ordo Xenos)
-
[X]Attritional Warfare - The way the chapter fights is very attritional on their equipment. (Wargear getting damaged or destroyed is more likely)

This plan focuses on a Chapter with very practical and efficient style but one that cherishes Humanity, their bonds of family.
They care about their past families, they care about their Neophytes, they care about the Machine Spirits of their gear, they care about each other and Humanity.
So they don't fight to win as fast and as efficiently as possible at the cost of their gear, not their Human allies.
But they HATE
Immaterium and all that comes from it, because Chaos comes from it, so Psykers are bearly tolerated.

[X] Plan: Duty is Eternal.
-[X]Ares Stratos
-[X]Tactical (+1 Ballistic Skill, +1 Weapon Skill)
-[X]Born Leader (+2 Leadership)
-[X]Former Deathwatch Veteran (+1 Perception, Bonus to Relations with Ordo Xenos and their affiliates)

A rounded Leader with focus on Leadership and with tons of experience from Deathwatch.

Edit:

Also by simply following the results of perks we will be in good standing with Mechnicus(better gear and easier repairs or replacment) and Ordo Xenos(easier time dealing with Aliens) and in Bad standing with Astra Telephatica.

I don't like attritional warfare. It is an incredibly foolish way for a legion of astartes, let alone a chapter, to fight. I get that it's on brand for Iron Warriors, doesn't change that it's foolish.

[X] Plan: Deadeye

I don't want those flaws. Too troublesome.

There's traits that balance it out.

And thus- your one vote plan. People aren't looking for a supposedly optimal plan, they're looking for one that leverages a more interesting our heritage for a more interesting chapter.

Literally nothing in your plan couldn't just be the product of being a second founding Iron Hands successor chapter. We chose Iron Warriors, now it's up to make that meaningful for better or for worse.

Thats why it is a flaw, duh :V
Which is why I weighed out to not pick them over something I found acceptable.

I don't want them simple as much as others want them simple as.

I chose instead to cripple the chapter with a preference for GC era equipment while attritioning replaceable wargear besides being Death Watch interlinked.

[X] Plan: Did someone call pest control?

[X] Plan: The Little Ones

As for the chapter build,
@BOTcommander does 'Maintainers of the Ancient' help at all with general construction/maintenance of is it solely focused on ancient/rare equipment?

[X] Plan: Kin to Mortal, but Cousins no longer
-[X]Iron Men - Part of the traditions to become a true member of the Chapter requires a marine to learn how to maintain, repair and, depending on personal talents; create new wargear.
-[X]Architects - Every Astartes of the chapter is skilled and proficient in designing, constructing and organizing the construction of structures, military or civilian.
-[X]Mortal Ties - The Chapter values the effort of mortal humans in service to the Imperium and maintains variable close ties to their mortal origins. (Small relationship bonus to various factions)
-[X]One of Many Moving Parts - While many Astartes see mortal forces as little more than chaff, the Chapter remembers and acknowledges the feats performed by said 'mere mortals'. As such marines are trained to be able to work effectively with the other branches of the Imperium's military, welding battleplans into a unified whole whenever both take to the field of battle. (Bonus to fighting alongside non-astartes forces)
-[X]Integrated serfs - Chapter serfs are well trained and integrated into wider chapter operations. (Small bonus to overall chapter operations)
-[X]Deathwatch Penance - The Chapter has sworn an oath to pledge a certain fraction of their active battle brothers to the numbers of the Deathwatch (Bonus to Relationship with the Ordo Xenos)
-[X]Nostalgia for the Great Crusade - The chapter dislikes modern patterns of astartes armor and armaments. (MK III power armor and phobos pattern bolters are standard issue)

-[X]Duty Overcomes Glory - As was learned and forced upon them during the Great Crusade, the Chapter continues to operate and send their Astartes to missions and battles where little glory is to be found, keeping to their duty, seeing little use in taking credit for their accomplishments and in seeing this as a just punishment for the harm their traitorous kin cause. (Malus to relationship gain)
-[X]Cousins We Are Not - The Chapter finds it difficult to interact with other chapters in a positive fashion, respective attitudes often rubbing each other the wrong way. (Malus to relationships and relationship gain with other chapters)

-[X] Gunthard Lindauer
-[X]Tactical (+1 BS, +1 WS)
-[X]Born Leader (+2 Leadership)
-[X] Cybernetic Augmentation (+1 Toughness, Small bonus to Reputations with Mechanicus and their affiliates)

[X] Plan: Reminiscence
- [X]Iron Men - Part of the traditions to become a true member of the Chapter requires a marine to learn how to maintain, repair and, depending on personal talents; create new wargear.
- [X]Architects - Every Astartes of the chapter is skilled and proficient in designing, constructing and organizing the construction of structures, military or civilian.
- [X]Maintainers of the Ancient - The Chapter reveres its relics. (Starts with additional, rare reliquary weapons, armor and vehicles and has a bonus to repairing such items and restoring them to active service)
- [X]Heraldry Be Damned - The chapter cares little for displaying their colors and heraldry to their enemies, being unbothered to repaint their armor in camouflage patterns if the situation demands it. (Bonus in some combat scenarios, small malus to reputation gain)
- [X]Duty Overcomes Glory - As was learned and forced upon them during the Great Crusade, the Chapter continues to operate and send their Astartes to missions and battles where little glory is to be found, keeping to their duty, seeing little use in taking credit for their accomplishments and in seeing this as a just punishment for the harm their traitorous kin cause. (Malus to reputation gain, starts with lowered reputation with all factions)
- [X]Nostalgia for the Great Crusade - The chapter dislikes modern patterns of astartes armor and armaments. (MK III power armor and phobos pattern bolters are standard issue)
- [X]Cousins We Are Not - The Chapter finds it difficult to interact with other chapters in a positive fashion, respective attitudes often rubbing each other the wrong way. (Malus to reputation and reputation gain with other chapters)

I doubt my plan will win, considering how simple it is and its late entry into the race, but I'll make an attempt anyway.

The crux of the idea, as it were, lies in how similar the chapter is to the Iron Warriors. It hasn't meaningfully diverged from their parent, many things remaining the same, a wistfulness for the... well, not good old days, but the old days before Perturabo damned nearly all of them permeates the chapter, shaping its culture and mindset. Even the one, solid attempt at change, the architectural interest present in the chapter, can be taken as just expressing a desire that was present but suppressed in the Iron Warriors. This inability to move on is what causes most of the friction between them and the rest of the Imperium, other Astartes especially - they are focused inward, an image of a shameful past that, while not recognized as such, still communicates distance and otherness.

The matter of the chapters' origins being limited to veterans is also something that can be interpreted in an interesting manner. On one hand, it means that it is known, at the very least, to a not insignificant portion of the chapter and it is, at the very least, spoken of if not about. Even then, I imagine it occurs in hushed whispers between two close brothers in quiet, isolated corners and only for a few moments. The shame is acknowledged, but not debated and considered, ironically keeping the chapter stuck in its past while preventing attempts at cultural reform from gaining enough momentum to be successful.

Still, I intentionally left out attritional warfare, since a) I don't like it and b) it indicated a transition away from the Iron Warrior way of doing things. A subtle and slight one at first glance, yes, but with much more meaning underneath. I really want to combine my plan with a garden homeworld and maybe the mentally focused recruiting method to further indicate that feeling of a transformation halted halfway through.

Right then.
[X] Plan: Deadeye
[X] Plan: The Little Ones
[X] Plan: Iron is in the blood

I think this might have to be solved in run up voting because this is getting a bit out of hand.

I fear so too, would not be surprised if we have a lot of separate but identical plans
I'll check through the tally. Give me a minute and I'll edit it in.

-OK, the top two (Iron is in the blood, Bug Exterminators) differ by IsntB having Flesh Within Flesh Without and Grudgebearers.
Both have Iron Men, Architects, Ancients, serfs,
Deathwatch Penance. Duty Overcomes Glory, Attritional Warfare

-Men of Iron, Hearts of Steel has Flesh Within Flesh Without, Serf, Ancients,
Grudgebearers, Attritional Warfare

-Great Crusade Eternal has Iron Men, Architects, Ancients, Flesh Within Flesh Without
Nostalgia for the Great Crusade, Deathwatch Penance, Attritional Warfare

-Men of Iron, Will of Steel, Tongues of Lead has Iron Men, Architects, Ancients, Heraldry Be Damned, Worship of the Omnissiah, Integrated serfs
Rejection of Failure, Duty Overcomes Glory, Weakness of Mortals, Grudgebearers, Cousins We Are Not

-We fight for Them, we die so they can live has Flesh Within Flesh Without, Iron Men, Worship of the Omnissiah, Mortal Ties
Rejection of the Witch, Deathwatch Penance, Attritional Warfare

-The Best & Worst of Our Predecessors has Iron Men, Flesh Within Flesh Without, Architects, Maintainers of the Ancient
Duty Overcomes Glory, Grudgebearers, Attritional Warfare

-The Little Ones has Iron Men, Flesh Within Flesh Without, Architects, Mortal Ties, Integrated serfs
Deathwatch Penance, Nostalgia for the Great Crusade, Cousins We Are Not, Attritional Warfare

-Steel Driving Men has Iron Men, Maintainers of the Ancient, Mortal Ties
Grudgebearers, Rejection of Failure

-Chapter of the Imperium has Flesh Within Flesh Without, Iron Men, Architects, Mortal Ties
Duty Overcomes Glory, Attritional Warfare, Cousins We Are Not

-Imperial Warriors has Flesh Within Flesh Without, Maintainers of the Ancient, Mortal Ties, Integrated serfs
Penance of Pain, Duty Overcomes Glory, Grudgebearers

The plans tend to be pretty similar but as far as I can tell, no outright duplicates.
