For all of it I think The Claw found satisfying that at last someone ask him what to write on a report when he act on someone while they are working

Yeah, that checks. Can't say I'm surprised that *someone* decided to try to cheat their taxes and got fucking murdered for it. Losing a second member to what seems like greed seems like a less then ideal thing to have occur though.

Well, technically, it is likely we'll still lose a second member to greed even if we intervene, if we kill the one trying to kill our teammate, but let's be honest, if we ends up with only one other left, it is better to be with the one that we know didn't kill the other during their sleep.

Like, at least that way we'll trust her enough to allow her on our back, and she'll trust us enough to allows us to guard her back making her easier to shank than if we kept the guy who already proved he's willing to betray like that.

Even from a non sentimental point of view, being known as someone who won't kill his teammates in their sleep tends to help.

As much as I want to play devil's advocate, we're next on the list if we don't do something now. (My source is the greed of man)
Also gotta hand it to Naron, didn't expect the introduction of a better romance option of a Claw. Even gave us his phone number!

I am half way convinced that the punishment for the late payment on taxes would have been a visit from the claw asking for some very high late fees and an increase in the tax % for the next payment. But trying to run away was what got them killed.

No, what you described was for the last two late payments, it was his third strike, he was already dead.

Time to be best buds with a Claw eventually. This can't go wrong! The power of love and friendship declares it to be so! Especially in the City...

I don't know why, but this brought to mind Ciel becoming an Arbiter by, ah, marrying in. They've got the gold accents already too!

Don't even care if it's just an acquaintence, having a Claw as a potential future contact to a part of the Head + helpful Tax Consultant is pretty good W out of this first assignment with Scythe Office. Agnus seemed to be the dutiful sort to help as long as we follow the City's rules, so hopefully we see more of him (even if extended contact with one of the Big Three is inadvisable lel).

Honestly, I feel like the fastest way to find that hideout is just asking various prominent cooks around the area. Some already voiced their displeasure over the fact that the addicts tasted awful. If anyone wants this situation to get resolved quickly it would be them.

The approaching would be difficult. But just sliding up to one of their bars as a customer would work.

Thinking on it, we could use the card if we ever need to make a big bluff. If anyone ever impedes us, just whip it out and subtly imply that we have friends in high places. That does depend on how hard it is to get ABC Corp business cards, though. At the very least, very few people are brave enough to get one in the way we did.

On one hand, it might get Ciel on C-corps shit list.

On the other, the flex, man. The flex.

What do you mean Ciel, they seem like a great person! I already want to see more of her in future jobs. Also, we now can say we've met a tax man and lived to tell the tale (and gained a potential tax consultant), which is much more than most people can say. All in all, a good day at work! Now if only we didn't have to deal with teammate murder due to (probably) money.

Real talk though, this definitely seems like a potential color in the making, so getting to know them now can really only benefit us. Same with a claw, the value of knowing someone who's a tax consultant in a world where they send the Claws after three missed strikes can not be understated. Remember, friendship is magic and magic is op as hell.

This gives me an image of a Claw liking someone and trying to flirt, but failing due to their presence freaking out the person and everyone else around them due to repeated Claw visits. A Rom-Com using The City as it's setting seems like it be a fun read.

I'm pretty sure that even in the City it is illegal to threaten a person directly with legal action. Not to mention possible laws against fraudulent use of trade dress and affecting the public image of a government agent/employee of C-Corp, both as an individual and by corporation.

Yeah, let's not do that. That's just asking for a visit from Claw.
