The Battle of Naboo was a wake-up call for the galaxy. Even if the ordinary citizen didn't notice it, more powerful figures have. It was horrible to realize that the Trade Federation could invade a peaceful world without being punished by the Core Worlds.

Where were their fleets?

Ultimately, Naboo had to fight these invading merchants by themselves. Surprisingly they won, but it was a close call. If not for the intervention of the native Gungans, a Jedi Master, and a local resistance that all worked together, the Trade Federation would most likely have won. Even the Republic was sluggish to intervene, closely following a worrying trend for years.

The signs have also been noted on the Outer Rim World Temaris, and the former Admiral has been sacked thanks to his incompetence. Now you've been promoted to his position, and the Prime Minister has tasked you with defending the home system.

Don't fail us, Admiral.
Building the Legacy

Location
Kiel; Germany
With the liberation of Naboo from the Trade Federation occupation, the galaxy has woken up to a new state of naval warfare. Starfighters defeated a droid control ship within thirty minutes. With one proton torpedo, the age of battleships comes to an end. At the same time, it is clear that naval warfare is still the key to defending a planet. If Naboo had possessed a more powerful naval force than just a wing of fighters, the Trade Federation might have second thoughts on a blockade. That way, an occupation could've been prevented entirely.

This event made our government look hard at its military forces and found the performance lacking. That is why your predecessor lost his job, and you are sitting here, Admiral.

It has been made clear that you must modernize the Temaris Defense Fleet and bring it into this new warfare age. You must compete for the government's goodwill and fulfill your orders. Sadly, you aren't alone, as the new head of the army has received the same orders. So carefully read the following documents about our proud Temaris Defense Fleet.

Pick 2 Departments! The two you pick represent the core of the current Temaris Defense Fleet. The other departments can later be opened.

[ ] Operations Department
The Temaris Defense Fleet has participated in sector-wide operations in close cooperation with other defensive fleets and Republican forces. This has given her a solid understanding of large military operations on a sector scale, a basic knowledge of fleet tactics, and a deep love for cruisers.
Warfare +1d10, Administration +1d6, Prowess +1d6
Trait: Cruising Lovers (Cruisers receive a +5 on any Combat roll)

[ ] Starfighter Command
Even before Naboo showed the galaxy the worth small fighters can have against larger targets, the TDF already had its own theories. These theories have evolved into the Starfighter Commando, forming its own department within the Navy. This has given the Temarids Defense Fleet a strong appreciation for starfighter tactics and their needed support facilities.
Public Relations +1d6, Warfare +1d10, Research & Development +1d6
Trait: Nasty Flys (Fighters receive a +5 on attack against Ships)

[ ] Naval Infantry Corps
The proud history of the Naval Infantry on board Temaris Defense Fleet ships went back to the New Sith Wars almost 1000 years ago. Since then, it has been known that TDF likes to get close and personal when fighting or suddenly attacking pirate bases, surprisingly with a landing force. But this has led to past conflicts with the army, and they may do so again.
Public Relations +1d6 , Warfare +1d6 , Prowess +1d10
Speical Unit: Naval Infantery Corps

[ ] Intelligence Office
Intelligence is one of the most significant advantages a navy has against pirates. The knowledge of when and where to strike can win battles. The TDF has an advantage against most other forces thanks to the Intelligence office. Temaris is best protected by the Office.
Administration +1d6, Intelligence +1d10, Research & Development +1d6
Trait: We Know! (One Rumor gets confirmed as true or false)

[ ] Research & Development
If the Temaris Defense Fleet wants to stay relevant and independent simultaneously, it can't rely only on importing weapon systems. To do this, they will need to develop their own designs. It might take some time, but it can be beneficial in the long run and result in better systems than the market offers.
Public Relations +1d6, Administration +1d6, Research & Development +1d10
Trait: Best Used Before (Recieve a warning when Units will get outdated)

[ ] Public Relations Department
The public must support the Navy. To achieve this, the Temaris Defense Fleet has a whole department working on ensuring the public sees the right side of the Navy. Only then will the people ensure that the politicians support the Navy. Besides that, the PR Department helps project strength for only a handful of credits.

Trait: Want To Know More? (Rieceve a +1d6 Budget each turn)

You have 250 points you may spend on the things below to form the start navy you will deal with. Note that any costs are for 1 of the offered options. If you see a "(#)" behind the price, you can buy more than just one.

The stats are used as a bonus to your roll in combat. Combat is always a comparison between your result and the one from the opposition. Combat itself has three phases: Skirmish, Battle, and Pursuit. The stats are used in this way:

  • Damage: Delivering damage to the enemy ship.
  • Toughness: Used to block damage. The Toughness is deducted from the Damage if the enemy wins the roll.
  • Pursuit: Following a fleeing enemy.
  • Screen: Countering fighters.
  • Unit Strength: How much damage can be taken before it is disabled or destroyed.

Ships:

[ ] Procurator-class Star Battlecruiser -> 100 Points
Damage 60; Toughness 40; Pursuit 5; Screen 5; Unit Strength 25

[ ] Dreadnought-class Heavy Cruiser Division (2 Ships) -> 75 Points (#)
Damage 40; Toughness 40; Pursuit 10; Screen 10; Unit Strength 25

[ ] Invincible-class Dreadnought Heavy Cruiser Division (2 Ships) -> 50 Points (#)
Damage 50; Toughness 35; Pursuit 5; Screen 5; Unit Strength 20

[ ] Carrack-class light cruiser Squadron (4 Ships) -> 50 Points (#)
Damage 30; Toughness 30; Pursuit 20; Screen 15; Unit Strength 15

[ ] CEC DP20 frigate Squadron (6 Ships) -> 25 Points (#)
Damage 30; Toughness 20; Pursuit 10; Screen 15; Unit Strength 10

[ ] CEC CR90 corvette Squadron (6 Ships) -> 20 Points (#)
Damage 25; Toughness 25; Pursuit 10; Screen 20; Unit Strength 10

[ ] CEC CR70 corvette Squadron (6 Ships) -> 15 Points (#)
Damage 10; Toughness 20; Pursuit 10; Screen 10; Unit Strength 10

Fighter Craft:

[ ] A-6 Interceptor Wing (4 Squadrons) -> 10 Points (#)
Damage 5; Toughness 5; Pursuit 20; Screen 5; Unit Strength 5

[ ] Z-95 Fighter Wing (4 Squadrons) -> 10 Points (#)
Damage 10; Toughness 5; Pursuit 10; Screen 10; Unit Strength 5

[ ] Aurek-class tactical strike fighter Wing (4 Squadrons) -> 5 Points (#)
Damage 15; Toughness 5; Pursuit 5; Screen 10; Unit Strength 5

[ ] Cutlass-9 patrol fighter Wing (4 Squadrons) -> 2 Points (#)

There we go a solid foundation for future developments with a good mix of ships and craft to figure out doctrines.

Will we have the opportunity to get ships like the Procurator-class later or is this a one off chance?
You can buy one later on or even other giant ass ships Kuat produces for prestige. But you won't get them this cheap again.

Why would we want a gimped Kuat boondoggle that is almost totally unable to defend it self from massed star fighters, the tactic both sides use heavily in the up coming war?
What war are you talking about? Are you a ... Dark Jedi or something?

Are questioning my religion? In this REPUBLIC?!

Edit: More seriously the lack of star fighter defenses is a known in universe thing for a bunch of Kuati ships given they want you to purchase their anti fighter ships in addition to the big stuff

The goal of this plan is to make us look nice and impressive on paper, but to have some problems. Hence why our predecessor was fried.

This will be interesting to see what happens. We will also see the pressure from the Republic taxes in the outer Rim and the poaching from mega corporations. It's defiantly a time of chaos.

Edit: Also we might have newer ships then the Republic at this point.

Dear Gentlebeing, please calm yourself. As you know the worship of the Dark Side is prohibited by law - as it isn't a religion at all.

Well, Kuat isn't such a powerhouse for no reason. By the way, here, take a look at our new Anti-Fighter solutions! We even have an Upgrade package for your nice battlecruiser. Would be a shame if something happen to it, right?

Fun fact, the Temaris Sector is ruled by the Temaris Sector Senat but has only one senator in the galactic senate!

I think making a few changes to this ship would be easier than making a new ship, plus they have 20 gun mounts to start with

A modifyed Carrack would be a far better anti-fighter platform, while still being a threat to larger vessels.

Not super familiar with this era's ships, so chose based on numbers and vibes. I would always recommend going with starfighters in a SW quest, it's just part of the setting to my mind, and I don't see espionage focused bonuses very often.

A modifyed Carrack would be a far better anti-fighter platform, while still being a threat to larger vessels.
A dedicated ship will do better at its job than any multi-role unit. Plus, if foundation wins, we will have a lot of cruisers and strike fighters, we need something in a frigate size and or smaller to deal with fighter swarms

So ship concept idea: droid fighters launched from VLS cells.

The legends vulture Droid costs 19000 credits and its got that transforming gimmick which likley adds a huge chunk of change to its price. So what I'm thinking is that we take the concept and strip it down to basics both to cut costs and reduce the needed size. I think we can make it about the size of an RL anti-ship missle and have almost no moving parts. If we can get the price down to 15000 we could build 4 of them for the cost of one brand new TIE fighter
