[X] (Bruce) "He killed John Wilkes because he broke character."
[X] (John Wilkes) "He killed Lincoln as part of his character."

Those two are rather obvious by now.

[X] (Mary Lincoln) "She's an accomplice to her husband's murder."

He did say "our conspiracy" which suggests a rather equal power dynamic here. Now, she might be an accomplice or the boss, but we have no hard evidence for latter over former.

[X] (Bruce) "He killed John Wilkes to tie up loose ends."
The only place where I break with everyone else's conclusion is here- I think that Bruce was in on "it", somehow, or that there's another "it" that intersected with the Lincoln hit.
[X] (John Wilkes) "He was hired to kill Lincoln."

Regardless of how this turns out Aequitas Veritas needs to go after the Personalities, a cultish gang of method actors that take things a bit too far seems like a perfect target for him.

"So… it was just a reenactment?" Captain Wei looked skeptic, but the more she thought about it the more it sort of made sense. The entire thing about the Personalities is that they're always in character and how can John Wilkes Booth get any further into character than to kill Abraham Lincoln?

"All the evidence points to it." Tanner shrugged, "Didn't think the wife would be in on it too." He said as he watched two officers escort the widowed former first lady herself to her cell, the woman looking quite confused and questioning why she was under arrest, though Tanner's perceptive eyes could see the barely hidden panic and rage of being arrested and he didn't need Aves' help to know of her guilt.

"Knowing Personalities, she's definitely playing a 'variant' of Mrs. Lincoln to rise up in the ranks." Captain Wei cupped her chin as she began connecting dots, aligning with Tanner's eventual conclusions of the case and finished her thoughts for her.

"-and Bruce was just cleaning up when Wilkes broke character when I arrested him."

The mention of the fake officer made the captain scowl, now knowing that there had been an imposter among her ranks had been a punch to the gut, the fact that he was among them for years and never revealed himself until now made it even worse. Were any other of her officers Personalities too? If so, which ones are the posers and the real deal? The eventual bureaucratic and logistical mess of rooting out her entire precinct made her regret becoming a cop and there was still the matter of informing the other NCPD precincts of possible Personality infiltration as well. God, she should've signed up with Militech when she had the chance.

CASE CLOSED
[Murder solved but NCPD is discovered to be compromised! Tanner Montoya will be unavailable while NCPD roots out the moles.]

Impersonating an officer of the law? Compromising a crumbling bastion of Justice!? This is a slap to your face! A literal slap to your featureless face! This is an insult! An outrage! It was an affront and a disgrace to the domain that you have claimed!

What will you do about this?
[ ] This is beneath you. You will not let it get to you and let it slide. (Warning: This goes against your chosen domain) (-5 max faith)
[ ] Assist Captain Wei in weeding out the pests. (-5 faith)
[ ] Give these moles a sign of your... displeasure and encourage them to leave or else (-10 Faith)
[ ] Write in: (If you have any ideas or wish to add more details to whatever choice you vote for!)

Are we able to do both of these options? I feel that only doing one or the other would not exactly be in character since Aequitas Veritas is very much livid right now and being a God of Justice, it not doing all it can to weed out corruption is not exactly a good look or inline with their domains. Plus, we do have more than enough faith to fund both actions

[X] Write in: These ne'er-do-wells have tainted the sanctity of this bastion of Justice in their perverse desire to create facsimiles of those that came before. For that they shall be weeded out root and branch from this place and cursed with creeping madness and guilt until they have repented for their actions and turned themselves in or have been imprisoned within their own minds as insanity leaves them little more than vegetables. (-20 faith)

This ok?

Edit: Changed faith cost

This ok?

Definitely!! Though a bit of a huge penalty, cursed with maddening guilt to confess or become catatonic. Up it to 20 and we're good
