Alex first case is the mysterious rumor about the chemestry lab of his school. Its said that at night when the clock strikes midnight a red fog starts spreading from the doors crevices and filling up the floor of the rest of the building. After watching and reading way too many 7 mysteries of school type of horror story, my imagination just filled the gap here for Alex to explore
All we have to do is have him publish his (Mis)adventures as in Universe Goosebumps and we're making bank.

Every "potential friend" is a Cryptid in Gotham. The whole damn city might as well be an SCP for how much weird shit goes on in it.

I don't know about other continuities, but in the Arkham Series, it's mentioned during the League of Shadows DLC side quest in Arkham Knight that the city's water supply is contaminated with Lazarus stuff.
