Yeah, Cu looks good.
The top votes are way away from others, though, so let's just...
[X] Oda Nobunaga
-[X] Avenger
[X] Mordred Pendragon
-[X] Saber
[X] Cu Chulainn
-[X] Lancer
[X] Sakamoto Ryouma
-[X] Lancer
[X] Sanada Yukimura
-[X] Lancer

I really wanted Oberon, but let's be honest, he's suboptimal plus, far more importantly, he isn't getting enough votes. I think Spectral's spread has more than enough Learning when you include Castoria, so I'm swapping the Leonardo for Yukimura, since we really need more Intrigue than that spread has.

Having looked at the stats again, while Leonardo has some great potential synergies, I realized first that my build has a lack of intrigue, and second that Cu's learning stat is actually really high, and I would expect Da Vinci to basically be nothing but a giant learning stat, so really they're not super optimal for the build when we also have Castoria on top of that.

So I'm gonna line my vote up with Nani.

[X] Oda Nobunaga
-[X] Avenger
[X] Mordred Pendragon
-[X] Saber
[X] Cu Chulainn
-[X] Lancer
[X] Sakamoto Ryouma
-[X] Lancer
[X] Sanada Yukimura
-[X] Lancer

Alright, after seeing the example sheets the GM has posted, I'm tweaking my vote to (mostly) make a contribution to the existing vote blocs, instead of letting the scrap of vote power fall by the wayside.

[X] Beowulf
-[X] Berserker
[X] Darius III
-[X] Rider
[X] Mordred Pendragon
-[X] Saber
[X] Sakamoto Ryouma
-[X] Lancer
[X] Sanada Yukimura
-[X] Lancer

I will however stick to Darius. I'm surprised nobody has pitched their votes for the guy whose in-setting claim to fame was being the primary resistance against an invincible army, on top of being a bottomless money factory, having the ability to retreat with minimal losses incurred, being an excellent governor and administrator, rooting out and killing spies and poisoners and political puppeteers in his own court, and having the power to call a colossal army of the fleshless skeletons that can replenish itself with its kills on command.

In a military simulator-derived game.

Nonetheless, Nobunaga is way too volatile to be worth it. Factor in Mordred who also has vulnerability to corruption and you can easily set up a scenario where two out of five chosen party members could easily become permanent defectors if it suits them, on top of others being tied up with operations elsewhere.

There are at least three other polities that command fleshless skeletons, and they do not have anyone who would care to celebrate their birthday.

BTW, I have no idea who Sanada Yukimura is. Can anyone give me a quick rundown?

Sengoku-era warlord, loyal to the Toyotomi clan, opposed the Tokugawa. He was Ten Braves' liege, rather than leader. The actual team leader was Sarutobi Sasuke.

Some votes are mixed because of different spellings, so I did merges, I think I got them all?

[X] Lucius Domitius Aurelian
-[X] Rider

This is me wanting to suggest someone original and I'm fan of roman history. Starting off as a simple soldier Aurelian climbed to the rank of cavalry commander under the previous emperor and eventually becoming Emperor himself at one of Rome's darkest times. His actions during the crisis of the third century granted him the title Restorer of the World.

Coming into power during two simultaneous civil wars. He led and fought with his men into saving the empire, sometimes taking cities without a fight and stopping his men from looting and pillaging them. Also tried to reform the empire in several ways during and after the wars. Before tragically being betrayed by his own men who may have been deceived. (Historians can't be sure)

I don't think he'll take a subordinate role so that's possibly a negative. I just wanted to try something new.

Just putting this out there, I think Bretonnians and most other Order factions will hesitate to ally with people who's epithet is "Knight of Treachery" and "Demon King of the Sixth Heaven" though given that they eventually let in Malekith and Nagash near the closing bits of End Times, it'll take a while.

I'm open to suggestions on an alternative to Nobunaga. I feel like the current winners are tipped a bit to much towards Japanese servants anyway. Cu Chulainn doesn't look like a bad option.

Is there anyone that would be good at making alliances with other races? I don't expect to get Orcs or anything crazy, but getting more everything on our side can only be good.

Rama if you want another Hindu hero. Killed Ravana and led an army of Vanara to great acclaim. Hector could be good for defensive warfare; he managed to hold the siege of Troy for a good ten years, and he's got some diplomacy skills. He's also no slouch in combat either, given that he managed to put up a good fight against Achilles. Odysseus again, likely a decent choice, unproblematic personality, kept the Achaeans together for the duration of the Trojan War. Fionn mac Cumhaill led the Fianna and built his legend on killing a Divine Spirit and repelling invaders and demonic creatures.

Given their respective personalities, they will. Nobunaga's thing was calling themself that all the time until it caught on.
Not really? The whole Demon King thing is something that the Buddhists named them and they adopted it afterwards.

You shouldn't assume that the exaggerated event personalities are canonical. Think more Type REDLINE.

[X] Leonardo DaVinci
-[X] Caster
[X] Ryouma
-[X] Lancer
[X] Nobunaga
-[X] Avenger
[X] Mordred
-[X] Ruler

You may complain its japanese heavy.

To which I will point to my avi and shrug.

Though I may want to grab Scathach maybe. Or Eresh? One to round out the murdermancer to the table.

But this Hero of Troubled Times plan CANNOT go wrong!

I did give free reign of classes.

Could do a fairy knight thing…

I will clarify, any tradition that allows Mordred to be ruler isn't the primarily prose lineage Fate typically draws from. This would be considered a vote for a different character. Im not willing to consolidate like I'm open to woth other near enough servants.

Are we going with Apocrypha canon Mordred or FGO canon Mordred? Because that'll effect my vote on her depending on if we're using the characterization of her saying 'I'll try and kill my father wherever I meet her' or 'Desperate for daddy approval' Mordred.

There's just no point in trying to summon the former, because that canonical version will probably try and gank Artoria Caster out the gate, even if she isn't actually Artoria.

Also, why do so many people want Avenger Nobunaga? If we're really drawing from Kaiser and Redline, then that's, uh, not a great choice considering her personality, and honestly, she kind of sucks in terms of power as well*.

*To clarify, Avenger Nobunaga has two fights in canon- specifically, against Nagao Kagetora as a Lancer, who- by all rights- with her kit of being super anti-god- she should win, right?

Nah, she gets her ass beat. Loses once immediately off the bat to better Protection of Arrows and gets clapped immediately afterwards, and then Demon King Nobunaga- loses to Nagao (and Oda) again. Her one contribution the entire event is helping rid the Holy Grail God Thing of its immortality** and... that's kind of it.

**To be clear, it's made even more unimpressive once you look back a bit and realize that Nagao already clapped the Makuzu God's cheeks once- the Priest just shoved a Grail inside it to make it eternally regenerative. Maybe she's more impressive in Redline? But honestly, Avenger Nobunaga is just not my first pick for anything, seeing as the first divine fight she goes up against- she gets her cheeks clapped immediately.
