In Pursuit of Ego, a Persona 4 and Project Moon Quest

Is there time to try and wake an Abnormality and enter the TV World? If so, arming ourselves first seems pertinent. While the TV should technically send us to a safe area at first, there's always the possibility of shenanigans.

Blue Star and WhiteNight are out of the question for obvious reasons (whoops, we just accidentally'd humanity!) and Burrowing Heaven also seems to lash out indiscriminately at everything, so Price of Silence is the best option. Then again, there is the possibility that we'll be able to awaken an Abnormality after we've entered.

Since having an Abnormality active at all is generally a big risk and we don't know what "waking" one will entail, I'll err on the side of caution in that regard and just go with this:

[X] Force your way inside
- [X] Bring Chie along with you

[X] Examine the TV and the reaction from the books
- [X] Focus on the image on the screen, and see what you can make out

Seems shaky at best...but hey. Faith for the wins. Gotta have faith yes?

[X] Force your way inside
- [X] Bring Chie along with you

[X] Examine the TV and the reaction from the books
- [X] Write-In: The TV is clearly reacting to the Abnormalities' presence. Try pushing the briefcase into the TV screen, and observe the phenomenon.

Benjamin is a man of science, and sometimes merely observing passively is not enough.

It is a long shot, but they may have some knowledge that you do not, something urgent, rather than typical teenage impatience.

Reading this sentence with OOC knowledge of why they got to June's is very funny, since said long shot is the truth.

You reach your hand up to the screen, and it wavers, like the surface of a pond.

Ah, good, we just learned about the tv world (well, are going to learn but that's close enough). Interesting that we have some reactions similar to when fighting in the library though.

[] Examine the TV and the reaction from the books
- [] Attempt to wake up one of the abnormalities (which one?)

That's an interesting choice to have. 😈

I mean, pulling out an abnormality right now kinda seems like overkill... doesn't it?

Absolutely.

[x] Examine the TV and the reaction from the books
- [x] Attempt to wake up one of the abnormalities (which one?)
—[x] White Night

Pedal to the metal baby!

By the way, anyone got the niceties to explain the current situation in their own words?

Transfer student had seen currently disappeared schoolmate in tv when it spontaneously turned on at midnight (the midnight channel), he tried to touch the screen and discovered that he could enter, but the tv at home is too little, so he got to June's with some friends and entered from there, was chased out by a teddy bear the first time.

Now, the shoolmate died, but they decided to investigate the tv world, so they go back with rope so that someone outside can pull them out if necessary. They are currently searching for proofs inside and are about to be confronted by the shadow of the only one of them without a persona. The transfer student already has a persona due to deals with the velvet room.

If we let the situation go as normal, they should defeat the shadow and get the persona, then they'll leave.

[X] Force your way inside

Regardless of if this decision is what Hokma would actually do in a scenario like this or not, I'd argue towards this being our best option. As Lepidoptera pointed out 2 people have gone missing inside the TV and out of everyone we have talked to Chie seems to know the most about it. Instead of being patient and waiting things out I'd say its better to enter now and investigate, patience can wait when people are going missing and we want to know why.

[X] Force your way inside
- [X] Bring Chie along with you

with current information, this make sense to me. Two students went missing and there's no reason to believe violence is going to occur upon entering, and Chie has answers and as such gets to come along and explain more about what the heck. Plus there's enough info to believe that getting out should be a relatively simple affair.

So, while I do think that going inside with Chie is the (second) best thing to do, I want to point out that we probably haven't changed the canon result of this excursion and that our students should come out of it fine, actually, they should come out of it stronger than they were.

We can wait if we want, it just miss an opportunity to learn a great deal more on shadows and personas directly from seeing them.

But I still maintain that sending White Night and seeing what happens is the best option for me, let's see how high a tsunami we can make.

Not like binah who will throw nuclear bombs at people just because they piss her off.
For hokma whitenight is the last option.

For hokma whitenight is the last option.
Even more than that.

Hokma's abnormalities fit with his mindset the best. The guy is the type to "Deal with the problems with maximum efficiency while using the least amount of resources".

Most battle with Hokma usually ends by the time he gets to emotion level 2-3.

Something that I have not seen discussed so far is that while we know the guys will be fine, neither Hokma nor Chie do. And with Hokma having professed a dutiful approach to teaching thus far, just... standing outside and trying to figure stuff out when they may be in danger does not feel quite right at this juncture.

Investigations can be made at any time. Lives can only be saved now. Hence I vote to get in there, with Chie for exposition and because she should not be alone outside right now.

Though at this point they might start suspecting us.
All according to plan. ;)

[X] Examine the TV and the reaction from the books
- [X] Focus on the image on the screen, see what you can make out

Though there is a solid case for moving urgently, Hokma doesn't strike me as the type to immediately dive in without at least trying to gather a few more details.

Assumptions

Hokma can fight/handle whatever is in there- this assumption has to be made as to assume otherwise is to make the endeavor pointless and we wouldn't be able to do anything about it regardless (we OOC know he can handle it but Hokma doesn't necessarily)
-Hokma can do so well enough to defend 2 other people - A further assumption that has to be made less we again render the endeavor pointless

A fight may occur- This is something we know but Hokma may assume given the investigation of supernatural murders may result in confronting a supernatural murderer at any time

Now given this, we bring Chie now to not leave her alone in case the murderer whoever they pops out of the tv or walks in the store as presumably they won't care about adding another body if it gets them to stop investigating the tv world

However, while we know Hokma will be able to leave, Hokma doesn't given the rope snapped and going in may leave him trapped, as such going in at all may not be the correct choice from, the only assurance is the fact he could pull his hand back out from the portal suggesting it is 2 way but the rope snapping makes it seem dangerous and possibly inconsitent as a portal.

If it were me, I'd bring chains and possibly send in a camera connected by wire just to examine the area

However, given that there is 2 kids that are possibly in danger of being murdered thus time is of the essence, we cannot take further precaution beyond grabbing the girl for an extra set of arms to carry someone in case of someone is injured and we need to run and dealing with the dangers as they come
