Only seven votes? Dear players, I am disappointed with your activity.
So I know we're supposed to focus on rallying troops, but what gets me about this batch of dice is how the good rolls are paired with even better rolls, bad rolls paired with equally bad rolls, and we get a pair of 54's together. Under the current mechanics, the 'best,' distribution of dice is one 'bad,' roll to one 'good,' roll, so the good roll may overwrite the bad.

Also, there should be an April Fool's achievement for rolling 54's. Both attempts at Dragon Keeping went equally Average.

Phoenix King: "Think for yourself, if the king could raise the entire army of Ulthuan with one word, maybe Tor Yvresse would not be destroyed…"
Eltharion: "If you want to unite the high elves so much, then here is a great excuse for you."

I think this is a hint that we should spread our dice around. We can put 1 die on each non-Yvresse kingdom and still get a 3pt benefit.

Here's what I would like to use for a base:
1 Eataine
2+1F Caledor (+Imrik, some dragons)
1 Ellyrion
0+1F Avelorn
0+1F Saphery
1 Tiranoc
1 Nagarythe
1 Chrace
1 Cothique
This is 8 of the 12 available points spent, so 4 more can still be spread around. What do you think about 2 more on Saphery (home province, gets Bellanor), 1 on having both Tyrion and Teclis present, and 1 more on Chrace to join Caledor in resisting the inevitable ork charge that might otherwise break our lines while we're being clever?

Result:
1 Eataine
2+1F Caledor (+Imrik, some dragons)
1 Ellyrion
0+1F Avelorn
2+1F Saphery (+Bellanor)
1 Tiranoc
1 Nagarythe
2 Chrace
1 Cothique
1 Tyrion + Teclis

I like the current plan to play to our strengths and bring in more heroes, but I have a couple of things to note:
I definitely don't want to draw troops from Nagarythe. First, most of our troops are much better at fighting in the open, whereas Nagarythe's forces aren't that strong. Secondly, what if the dark elves want to use this attack? It is possible that they are behind this. We must not weaken the provinces and troops, which themselves may be attacked.
Instead, I think we should probably turn to Chrace. Their fighters should make good defenders for archers and mages, and we can use them where the terrain is not suitable for heavy cavalry.

April Fool's achievement?
Well, I didn't want to say reward, as the possibility of rolling two of the same number on two dice is luck based, but some form of small acknowledgment seems in order for this funny moment. Really, when I saw that I was thinking of a millionaires/celebrities that own multiple tigers; they don't need them, but the Cats are there. What are Dragons if not independent, fickle, and scaled felines?

I don't know how diplomatically the Phoenix King can phrase "Nagarythe is depleted already and focused on the Dark Elves", but I might move 1pt off Nagarythe in the above draft. I already have 2pts on Chrace though... 3rd Chrace, or 4th Caledor to get full dragon participation? 🤔

Having Chrace around is definitely a good idea.

* Eltharion and the troops of Yvresse are trying to delay and harass Grom's horde while the rest of the army arrives, so getting the harassers of Nagarythe and the fast cavalry of Ellyrion should help with this. Also including Nagarythe should hopefully improve the chance of getting Alith Anar to show up.
* 3 dice on Avelorn costs 2 points and gets us Alarielle and the Handmaidens. The Handmaidens are super-archers even by Avelorn standards, and Alarielle is not only great at dispelling magic (which should help with the Waaagh magic of Grom's horde) but hopefully her healing abilities should reduce our casualties and improve the survival chances for our heroes.
* 3 dice on Caledor costs 2 points and gets us Imrik and some dragons for free. Considering the toughness of Orks we're going to need heavy troops and the Dragon Princes are the heaviest cavalry we've got.
* 3 dice on Saphery costs 2 points and gets us a lot of Swordsmasters of Hoeth, a lot of general mages and Bellaner the Wise, who is the second most powerful wizard in Ulthuan besides Teclis.
* Chrace because we need heavy infantry against Orks and the White Lions are pretty heavy, and do lots of damage with their two-handed axes.
* Cothique because, while their marines and Lothern Sea Guard are described as not very strong, they bring their fleet and I want a chance to cut off Grom's retreat if he loses. He's a slippery bastard and I want to nail his foot to the floor before he can run away and make us chase him again.
* Eataine and Tiranoc for general combat troops, and also as a political statement that troops of all the kingdoms are rallying to the aid of one of our kingdoms in peril.
* Tyrion as a free choice because he is an absolute murder-blender in melee combat, he will protect Alarielle with his life, and our personal combat skill is pretty low so we need someone we can use as a personal melee choice especially against an ork and go9blin army. This leaves Teclis not deployed here, but considering Bellaner, the forces we are deploying from mage-heavy Saphery and Alarielle's anti-magic capabilities and healing, I think we can get by.

Wait, didn't we build a tunnel system from Saphery to Yvresse? We should be able to funnel Mages on horseback relatively quickly, so they get tons of time to set-up.

After all, we're facing Grom, so despite Grom's leadership, the bulk of his army is chaff, so we need ways to clear these Goblins out before facing Grom's Veteran core.

Having Chrace around is definitely a good idea
Would chariots be good against tides of Goblins? I feel like they would get stuck as Goblin bits get between the wheels.

It's not the chariots that interest me, it's everything else about them. "The backbone of Ulthuan's line of troops."

If this fight were elsewhere, I might be more interested in getting clever about guerilla warfare, mass illusions, cavalry raiding, and avoiding direct battle.
But Ulthuan is disproportionately long-settled land that contains a lot of fragile targets, and if we try to play silly buggers, Grom is likely to simply aim for the nearest city and burn it down. Or Mork might tell him where to find us.
So I think we need to plan around some degree of meeting orks head-on, and I think Chrace and Caledor are the best for that.

You can. You can send part of the troops to Tor Yvresse to strengthen the defense of the city from the inside thanks to these tunnels, but this is in the next poll.
Chariots are Tiranoc troops. Chrace's special troops are the White Lions.
Chrace has lion chariots drawn by lions.

So, whether we should minimally involve the forces of each principality is a good question. On the one hand, this is a great political statement. On the other hand, managing an army consisting of many different units is an extremely non-trivial task. And not all of them will work well together - horse archers' ability to evade blows won't be as good if the enemy can just focus on our infantry, and tricks are meaningless if we expect to fight openly. So managing a small variety of troops centred around heroes, and special units and interacting with each other will be noticeably more effective.
@Karlov , will Eataine bring their own ships into battle? Even if they are not as good, it can help.

This plan is mainly designed for a big battle in an open field and the fact that our enemy has little to oppose the dragons. Using archers, mages and dragons, we can inflict heavy damage on enemies on the way. After that Caledor's heavy cavalry and Tiranoc's chariots would deal a massive blow to the weakened front, while the Chrace, Eataine and Saphery swordsmen would act as infantry and make sure that the enemy did not get close to the shooters and magicians. Cothique and partially Eataine will also try to stop the enemy from fleeing. We can also use dragons and other air units for reconnaissance, and Chrace hunters will help us if the enemy tries to avoid a general battle or tries to flee into terrain that is not suitable for cavalry.
The detachments of the two principalities will not participate, but if we simultaneously use a significant part of our own forces and unite with our political opponents, I think this will be enough to convince the Grim Prince of our sincerity.
In addition, we show that we are serious about our proposal to give Alarielle a more active role, and war is a great opportunity to get along better with a certain tsundere prince.
Well, I won't mind even if the unity plan wins, even if it looks somewhat counterproductive from a military point of view.
