I mean, sure, buts he's probably still using the Sprouts Yearning cult-tech while we've been using MV. Plus he's been cultivating at different fonts and such. Not to mention the undoubtably difference in the experience of cultivation between a Mortal and an Awakened.

While we might be able to give some measure of useful advice it's also possible that our advice could be detrimental or even just frustrate him further as he might see it as pity only leading to him further stunting his cultivation efforts from his turbulent emotions.

The pros of trying to help him are very minimal while the cons could possibly be quite serious.

I mean, we have pretty substantial amounts of Knowledge Cultivation for our level along with a high intelligence and a good baseline understanding of the Writ, which both gives bonus temporary cultivation dice, as well as permanent bonuses within realms. We've also been there for the lessons that our teacher gave out on Sprouts Yearning they've given to other students, most of which are still mortals, and Hua Yin both has good awareness and a mind like a steel trap.

I don't think it's really as pointless or risky a effort as your making it out to be, and we could always ask our cultivation teacher first just to make sure or see if she has any advice for us to pass down to him.

The easiest way is probably to do a joint study session of the Writ with him given it's mechanical effects, which can end up being a pretty substantial boost to his die pool and the foundational text seems unlikely to accidentally ruin his cultivation anymore then it did ours.

[X] Plan - Studying, Writ and Levine Step
Me as well hahaha. I think I am too traumatized from so many cultivation stories where the arrogant young master messes with MC for what boils down to being poor (or "crippled", yikes) and successful.

In fairness, while Mo Xiang is an ass we haven't really done anything to draw his ire. Aside from being the second in class to advance to Spirit ahead of him, our interactions have been limited to getting beat up twice (?) by him in combat class. There are likely tons of other non-noble disciples he's busy terrorizing interacting with.

More than that, I'd love to see a PoV from Mo to see his frame of mind. It'd be a little cliche if he followed the arrogant young master caricature and singled out MC as the outlet for all his hatred. Has he mentally acknowledged Hua Yin's genius like others or will he forever see us as dirt beneath his boot?

Given that we've avoided giving more direct insult and hadn't attacked him beyond being generically sus over on our side, I think he'd shift to trying to outcompete and more petty moves.

The slapdown method is for lessers who don't know their place, but Hua Yin isn't really casually slappable anymore, while calling in markers is shameful on his part without need.

Should've taken some time to ransom *ahem* properly get to know the Bei's young master.

Anyways,

Everbody's bonding with kungfu fighting! Ha!

[X] Plan: Studying a Fox before Adventure Time!
-[X] Attend Core Disciple Chu Quiang's martial arts class.
-[X] Attend Core Disciple Mao Yujing's cultivation study group. It will be held in the classroom. The Saint of Broken Swords will be addressing the class at the end of the week.
-[X] Attend duties in the Archives.
--[X] Try to find more about the sword saint (and saints in general) in the archive.
-[X] Write-in: Ming Xue was conspicuously missing from the Twins' party. Take some time to catch up with the taciturn disciple and see if you can learn more about her.
-[X] Explore the Supplicant's Stone and its attendant woods. There are caves, there are woods, there is adventure waiting. Core Disciple Li Ren had mentioned that there are hidden testing sites that may help with cultivation. After the last excursion, Hua Yin thought that maybe a companion would be a good idea, even if it cost some portion of the prize. Write-in companion(s).
--[X] Use the Clear-Eyed Glass to study the qi flows in both of the fonts you use and try to spot similarities between them. Take to the skies with the Earth-Defying Path to spot any similar patterns of qi from above.
---[X] Share your findings with your fellow Brothers of the Peach Blossom Fire. They can help you scope the place(s) out in exchange for use of the potential font(s), and/or a share of the rewards surely found at a strong locus of qi.

Ming Xue Gang represent!

Changed the last part, exploring gets us a lot of loot and exp at our relative stage now, I estimate.

"Honored cultivator, we are looking for disciples named Li Hai, Luan Shi, and Lao Lin."
Li Hai - Mighty/Strong
Luan Shi - Troublemaker
Lao Lin - this one maps to too many

It kind of looks like they were looking to provoke a reaction and then go after whoever ran.

Your father and I are so happy that you are making friends there. We trust that you were wise in your choices and trust that you bring nothing but honor to the family name.

. . . Now that you are off living by yourself, I do wish we had given you the birds and the bees talk. If you'd like, we can explain how it all works betwe

Got an idea for next week.

[] Write-in: Ask Lao Ai and Chen Li to help you shop for new clothes at Arbor's Rest. They both seem to have good fashion senses, and they also looked like they got along rather well at the party.

: )

[X] Plan: Hanging Out In The Woods

Sure cultivation may be deeply personal, but we've been attending classes on this for weeks and those have been useful.
If Li Gai has now broken through, he may be full of questions, and we'd be a bad friend if we weren't ready to let him talk excitedly about how happy he is.

[X] Plan: Hanging Out In The Woods

This is probably the better plan. I do wanna explore without a penalty. Also it's not like we can't bump into the Saint in the woods.

[X] Plan: Hanging Out In The Woods
This will get us our progress in cultivation knowledge, fighting, and learning about the Sword Saint, and do our duty. It also lets us help a bro out and get knowledge on survival so we can do the task for Renxing, which could get us a better relationship with a superior who share the celestial skill set which for us is invaluable.

Long term though I think the MC should return to his roots a little and use his INT and to get more skills such as Medicine, Alchemy, and Crafting. Our character is a now a badass and is good at combat, we could start having actions where we trade points with other characters more so we get more diverse skills and develop relationships.

[X] Plan: Hanging Out In The Woods

Even if we can't help with his cultivation directly, we may be able to help with knowledge: Cultivation, between our study group experience and our own reading of the Writ, we can at least Socratic Dialog him on pages we think he will find helpful.

Actually, one thought we might want to add to the helping Li Gai plan? If it would even work. We do have that glass that lets us see qi flows and such, so if he is still struggling maybe watching him with that could help? I dunno, just a thought.

Good idea. Added it to the plan.

-[X] Write-in: Li Gai was absent from the party to work on his cultivation. See if you can offer some pointers on this subject and in return, ask for some pointers in the field of Survival.
--[X] Try using the Clear-Eyed Glass to gain some insight into his issues.

[x] Plan: Exploration

Picking this, because adventure..

I don't see the point in finding information about the saint, Hua Yin's supposed to impress him with cultivation knowledge?
